FEELIN' GROOVY...

I enjoyed last week! It was fun celebrating the 8th anniversary of this fine crafting get-together and seemed appropriate therefore that I spent the day with someone who I met through WOYWW, the lovely Sam (Hettie) 😊💖

It was a really gorgeous day, we caught up with all our news, had lunch and went for a walk down on the beach (which is why I look rather windblown, it was sunny and breezy! Hettie looks lovely!!)  Fun times :-D

I posted my ATC to Robyn in America and also sent off a few others as well. I do enjoy getting exciting envelopes through the mail every day:

Lovely cards and ATCs from Wipso, Diana, Shaz Silverwolf, Margaret, Twiglet, Neet, Anne, Kim and Lisa...thank you, gorgeous gals, they're all beautiful and very different. xx

Ok, the desk - I'm channelling my aged hippie vibe this week.
I found some jelly roll strips when sorting out my stash and vowed that I would put them to good use! So, I've sewn ten together (three times) and will use them to make funky, hippy tote bags for charities I support. The crochet blanket has been my TV zone-out project, using yarn that was given to me (thanks, Wipso!) and odds and sods of left overs. It came out quite fresh and pretty.

A close up of the strips - the fabric is Moda - I do love it when all the hard work of co-ordinating the colours has already been done *grin* The bohemian patterns makes me feel groovy - can you hear Simon and Garfunkel too?!

That's it - shortish and sweet. Blimey, I amaze myself sometimes, lol!!

I just knew you'd put the wool to good use my friend....love it. The patchwork is gorgeous. I often look at jelly rolls but as yet I've resisted the temptation and have never bought one....that must be a first for me.

Lovely photo of you and Hettie. I must catch up with her on email, it's been too long. Glad you had a great day together.

Trying not to get my feet wet whilst crossing the 'bridge over troubled waters' you have disappointed me Jan. I honestly thought those strips were going to be turned into a hippie skirt. I just imagined you with a flower tucked behind your ear and the lovely skirt on with a top to coordinate with the stripy zig zag fabric.
Loe all your makes, you didn't disappoint me at all but I did immediately think "skirt"!

well jel of Hettie.. and regarding hippydom, I too feel like I dropped out and tapped in to my sixties hippy roots - it's the celtic countryside methinks, and the all pervasive 'wood' smoke?

That's a lovely photo of you and Hettie, it sounds like you had a lovely day, and I have to say I rather envy you that beach!!
The ageing hippie in me just loves the tote bags - fabulous colours but never heard of jelly rolls - I presume they are like fat quarters but longer and thinner? Will have to look that up!
I'm now off to drive myself nuts humming 'Feeling Groovy' for the rest of the day - one of the few songs of S&G that I've never really liked, but it's always so catchy - AAAAArrrgh!!
Have a really great week,
Hugs,
Diana xx

Hi Jan. Thanks so much for your happy mail!! I've really enjoyed seeing the postman come down the drive each day this past week - he hardly ever comes my way ordinarily. You have some delightful ATCs - and a day with Hettie too! Sounds good to me. Enjoy making those bags - the strips are amazing colours.

I'm usually brain dead when trying to come up with a design. Thanks for the visit (and glad you had a good one with Hettie)!

Hi Jan
Thanks for stopping by. I'd love to swap ATCs. Just send me your new address at your leisure. I'll send you one when I'm up to facing the post office which won't be for a few days, this flu has left me totally without energy. Actually, I've had just enough energy to lie around in the spare room knitting most of the day. So it's not all bad :)
