MAMMA'S GOT A SQUEEZEBOX SHE WEARS ON HER CHEST
AND WHEN DADDY COMES HOME, HE NEVER GETS NO REST.....

It's short and sweet this week, mostly because I haven't got anything much to show you! The week has flitted past and I just don't know where the days have gone. There's been lots of painting, leaks in the plumbing, washing machine breaking - all I've managed to do is a bit of baby hat knitting of an evening...

And my desk this week is at my new kitchen table - we're so happy with it, I could spend all day in there!
The little hats are there, plus an empty mug of tea, my phone and a membership form to join the WI (Women's Institute for the non UK readers!). I've wanted to join for ages but never had the opportunity and one has just started so I went along yesterday with my mate Helen. There was a good number of ladies there and we enjoyed a very funny talk on the history of underwear!  This was pertinent as Helen had sent me this pic of what she has been knitting the past week:

Boobs!  Helen is a community midwife and was asked by a breastfeeding counsellor if she could help - they are used in feeding demonstrations to new and expectant mums :-D  I think they're fantastic and well...very perky!!! I'm quite envious......

I'm very excited because Annie (Wipso) and her DH are coming to visit tomorrow! Woohoo, I'm looking forward to seeing them very much, hopefully you'll see some pics next week!

Morning Jan. Great boobs!!! What a gorgeous place to sit - out there in what looks like a conservatory extension to the kitchen - will be fabulous as the days get longer. The WI??!! Goodness, girl, you really are getting involved in your new community... But, application forms?? I don't think we ever had those when I was in the WI - but there again, I was the youngest member by 20 years, so maybe paperwork just wasn't their thing!
Have a fantastic time with folk tomorrow.
Take care. God bless.

Hi Jan, Loving your conservatory and the new table is fab.

I wanted to join the WI soon after I moved into the village. I was told they hadn't had enough people attending and had closed the previous month:(

Well you'd need considerably bigger buns for those boobies:) LOL

Have a lovely time with your visitors.

Happy WOYWW - and Happy St Davids Day. No Welsh cakes will be consumed by me this year - as just started a 12 week elimination diet (no wheat, eggs, dairy or almonds) to see if that will help my health. Hungry all the time despite having huge meals still. I was a member of our local WI years ago, but then we moved away and I still haven't got round to going again (always forget which night it is and then see the report in the newspaper). Must enquire for this month. Ali x #31

well, you SHOULD spend your time in the place you love most... such good light at that table, the breasts? - well, I did that thing for my both my babes and would advocate breastfeeding as The Best. HOWEVER the British are such prudes except if the breast is for sex purposes.. yes i learnt a lot about the public opinion when it comes to the natural use of the body for its intended purpose... oh I am on my box - sorry!!! the knitted ones are of course a illustrative representation of a fantasy that is the wonderful experience of one aspect of motherhood (such a beautiful fairy tale)!... dxxx#28 PS it would probably be incredibly useful to knit these with nipple holes to enable discrete feeding - newby babies cannot wait when they are hungry...

Have you offered them to the WI for cover ups for their next calendar shoot? Your new table is so inviting could just imagine a knitting group round it.

Hiya Jan, lol, I remember that song, and the fact that the BBC wanted to ban it from the radio due to the lyrics! Love the knitted boobs, as you say, very perky. Glad all the settling in is going well, and give Annie a big hug from me, Love and hugs to you both, XXXXX

There's no shame in not getting a lot done, it's too hard sometimes! I had plumbing probs at the pub this week. Water started coming down the wall of an internal staircase, always fun. All sorted now but not before the stress had enveloped everything and everyone. My new mantra is 'I sew and craft because I run a pub'. I am happy with that! Those boob hats are so cute. I saw a tutorial for similar recently. Let me know how being part of the WI works for you. I'm very interested but am worried about how much commitment I need to give as I'm already spread a bit thin - but really want to join in! Have a great week - EmbroidRage #3 x

Have fun at the lunch tomorrow! The view from the kitchen table looks great - looks like you'd get a lot of light in the room. I could use some of that, seems dull here all of a sudden (again). I think sometimes everyday things get in the way of crafting. Seems like I'm doing more decluttering than crafting lately but it needs to get done!

Fun post..I love the view from your windows. That little house next door looks like the one I bought when I moved back home. (It was my grandparents years ago) Was totally renovated and I miss it terribly. I moved to the farm when I remarried 11 yrs ago. I am anxious for the green grass and budding trees. Enjoy a great week Jan.

Super cute little hats and I LOVE your new kitchen table. I would have thought you're the perfect candidate for the WI - you shouldn't have to apply - they should be begging you to join, LOL! Enjoy your week, Jan! zsuzsa #26

Ho wonderful to be able to sit at that table and have that great light coming in - perfect for any crafter - move over, I'm on my way down. I think I could even manage to knit one or two of those boobs if I was in a room like that ... and at that table!
Am quite envious of Wipso, you will love her and her hubby. Now give each and every one a hug from me, including yourself remember.
Hugs, Neet 2 xx

You look all set up for some crafty stuff. You can't beat a conservatory for light. If they don't let you in the WI then they must be crazy! Happy woyww, Angela x 21
