WE GOTTA GET RIGHT BACK TO WHERE WE STARTED FROM....
Don't faint - there's something non-felty on the desk today!!
I'm drafting out a pattern that I found on Pinterest...but for what? You may well ask and then when you hear the reason, wonder if I've finally lost the plot.....
Julia gifted me some Christmas fabric from her mum's stash that she's been clearing recently and the spots/checks are from my supplies! Still any idea?
This may give you a bit more of an idea possibly. No? Well, let's carry on....
Of course - they're reversible dog bandanas that slide onto collars (not having a suitable dog on which to model these, I made do with a ruler!) Whaddya think? I'm making them for a Rescued Greyhound trust that our lovely desker Sue is involved with. I liked the pattern because it uses less fabric than triangular scarves that you tie and they were so easy and quick to make. You could have some for Valentines, Easter, summer...the possibilities are endless. But it's often hard to make something fundamentally boring look enticing for people to part with cash so....
A little work in Corel Photo and a bit of folding later, hopefully that's done the trick!
And some instructions always help!
I hope they raise some cash for a great cause! Have a great week everyone :-D xxxx

well I thought on first glance they looked like pants..... (that's looked LIKE pants; not looked pants - though that point may be a bit uncomfortable, lol) hope they raise lots of cash! Helen #?
Those are fabulous! At first I had you making a cover for your tablet, then it became bunting - never thought of dog bandanas. Brilliant idea, bet someone pinches it and goes into mass production as it is so good. Am well impressed Jan. (and the pakaging is fab too)
Hugs, Neet 2 xx
Happy WOYWW. How fabulous and I would definitely buy one of those. Buzz the Jack Russell has one somewhere (and it wears it when we travel with him). Ali x #7
I thought it was bunting at first. How fabulous and so professional in the presentation. You are so clever and kind Jan.

They are great Jan. Love the way that you have packaged them - very eye catching and I'm sure they will go well. Anne x #17
What a fun idea Jan. Love the fabrics. You've packaged them very professionally so I hope you make loads of dosh for the good cause. Milly says she hope you're making smaller ones too for little dogs like her 😄😄😄
Have a great week.
Hugs,

How clever. They look super Jan and so professionally packaged. I'm sure they will sell really well.

Hi Jan, You are a real star to make the bandanas for The Retired Greyhounds Trust. The branch that I got Honey from have just moved kennels and they need doing up. They are having an auction of items and at the monthly walks these bandanas will be very popular.

Wonderful idea - pets are guaranteed to raise money at xmas especially those who like to titivate their beasts. My daughter in Oz has just bought a bee outfit for her labrador which I think is a step too far. I will show folk at crunch today - carry on with the brilliant sewing x Jackie 21
What a fab idea! It works for the big dogs too as the standard "dog bandana" doesn't fit certain giant breeds with thick necks. One less thing to get tangled up with, too, which is always a bit of a worry when you're tying things round doggy necks!
Hope you have a lovely week
Morti @23
What a wonderful idea and I'm sure you will sell many of these! Well done girl! Glenda #26
Hiya Jan, what a brilliant idea!I'm betting they will be more popular than the tie on ones too. I agree, thats the only good side about how long this is taking. Because when we saw him in August, he said end set/early Oct, we've been booking concert tickets for November onwards, expecting I'd be feeling OK by then! Getting kinda close now though! Love and hugs to you all, Shaz xxx
Oh, what a lovely idea! Any trendy canine would be proud to sport these Jan! You know, it would have been a great excuse to adopt a doggie just to model these, LOL! It's a shame Oreo doesn't tolerate anything around his neck, otherwise I would try and make something like this for him! Enjoy your week! zsuzsa #24
Wonderful idea and love the fabrics. :) Anesha
just lovely, and how much effort you've put in on all the details, they will fly out of the door for sure, thx for your visit already, Vicky
OMGoodness you are sooo clever... dog lovers will buy them in droves. Love the fabric pattern combo. Clever girl :)

Lovely! I'm sure they will be loved. My daughter bought a bunch of bandanas for her husky dog but they tend to roll around - would have been great if they could have gone directly on her collar.

Aw, what a really cute idea! I like that they're reversible so they can get double duty. At first, I thought it was a stubby pennant banner. These make much more sense! Cute!

What a fabulous and fun idea - and clever too! I hope they raise loads of cash. Not participating this week but thought I'd pop by - had a hellish week with one of the the G.pigs becoming ill and needing major surgery so been playing nurse and worrying too much to do any art! He's on the road to recovery now thank goodness.
Hope hubby's retirement goes well - it's today isn't it?(delving into the murky depths of my memory!) Will you and he be celebrating or marking the milestone in some way? Hope you have fun whatever you decide to do.
Love and hugs,
Diana xx
That is such a great idea! I hope you sell a bunch of them! My grand dogs love dressing up and would let me drape things through their collars. I can't wait to get to California so I can see them again! Thanks for sharing and stopping by my desk earlier. Have a great week Vickie #11
I don't have a dog, but these seem a great idea and most professionally presented and packaged. Happy WOYWW Sarah #31
Oh my goodness, that is perfect! I don't have a dog either, just cats, but I do love those rescued greyhounds. I happened upon a convention of them one day at the Petsmart store, and one of the owners was telling me how they are the sweetest dogs, just like to lay around, and then just have a quick run once a day. I've been MIA for a couple of Wednesdays because my worst busiest days, full of meetings, happened to be those days! But today I'm waiting to go to eye checkup, so I'm getting my crafty on. Hope you are doing well, and love how busy you are in your new house right now! Happy Wednesday! Sandy Leigh #44
Fabulous..how very generous! Happy WOYWW Elaine no. 18
What a fab idea! And for such a good cause! But I do like your little felt ornaments, too! Happy WOYWW!

What a great idea! my sisters labs always wore scarves, they were like a signature...and it helped me tell them apart! Hope you're feeling better by now. Xxxx
Brilliant idea Jan, and really nicely presented, I'm sure they make loads of cash for the greyhounds :o) Annie C #15
A lot of fun there Jan. Well done. No post from me this week as I'm off to family tomorrow so knew I wouldn't be around to do a lot of visiting.
Take care. God bless.
Margaret
Great idea Jan and I like the way they go on too, less likely to lose them. Have a great woyww and happy crafting, Angela x
Brilliant, Jan! Pure dead brilliant in fact! The bandanas are fabulous, much better that they slip over the dog's collar, and I love the packaging you've designed. They are sure to sell well. Have a great week. Hugs, Elizabeth x #45
Hi Jan! What a great post, would you mind if I share it on my FB craft group" Artsy cards and crafts?? I'd love for you to join too!
I hope you have a great week! Hugs, Ginny M #41
How adorable! Great idea too.
Thanks for stopping by.
that is so nice and such an excellent design Jan, I love that they slip on. ( no knots to tighten) :) ~Stacy #48
Very pretty for doggie owners I'm sure they will sell quickly hugs Nikki 8
You're a genius and a very nice lady besides, Jan! What a fab idea this is! I've been gallivanting again and haven't seen how you're doing, so I'll see if I can spot an update. I hope that everything is going well with you and the family!! Love and hugs, Darnell
WOW! these bandanas are awesome! and Yes I had to check and make sure I was in the correct blog... What? NO FELT?! Grin... I giggled when I read your words "so quick and easy to make" since I cannot sew on a button, let alone use a sewing machine.. your are a true fabric artist and Don't you forget it! Thanks for popping in today and Happy belated WOYWW! from Lynne in Canada #51
Good morning Jan.What a great idea and I love how the bandanas slip over the collar simplest a great idea. I saw a tie for dog collars on a commercial wanting one for my oldest dog but no the less he doesn't like to free up at all.lol. That is great fabric Julia has given you and hope all your sales go great and love the band you created for packaging. Thanks for visiting me earlier and have a fantastic week Hugs Always ~Anne L#9
I know that song! Clever festive dashing dog-wear! Keep smiling and creating
Hello Jan!
I would have never guessed! The greyhounds will be decked out for the holidays rather well. A friend of mine used to be involved in greyhound rescue years ago in Colorado. They are great dogs!!
Thank you for the visit. Everything is going right along!!!
Happy WOYWW
Hugs,
Kay
Thanks for your visit earlier, I think life is settling down a bit for us all now.
That is one great packaged item - after the Charity Fair you could always try ebay.... I think there is a market for them out there.
Take care
