IT'S THE SAME OLD SONG...

I feel as if I ought to apologise as I've shown you pretty much the same desk for the past three weeks! But there's been quite a bit to do as I want to send the things off to two different charities and want a goodly amount to put in each package.

It's a great pile of mess on my desk...felt, stuffing, embroidery floss, ribbons, bead box, finished items and an upturned orange plastic cup that I used as a circle template!

The pile is growing :-)

and a pudding is taking shape!

and the second type of bunting is finished - yay!  I also finished a crochet blanket and sent it off to Lilian B for something she's involved with, but forgot to take a photo before mailing it. Doh!

But it hasn't been all nose-to-the-grindstone crafting. There have been some beautiful bright and cold sunny days here and on Sunday, Mr LLJ and I visited Mottisfont Abbey, a lovely NT property near Winchester. There was lots to see in the house but we concentrated on the gardens as the weather was so lovely....
I've decided that I'd rather like a Shepherd's Hut for my next garden - it was all lovely and snug inside, perfect for curling up with a book when you want to hide away....
A place for everything and everything in its place :-)  It was really atmospheric in there, I loved it.

The autumn colours haven't really got going yet but there were some beautiful things to stop and stare at:
The bark of this tree was like burnished copper, it was gleaming in the sunshine....

...and in the dark Winter garden, this tree almost pulsated with bright yellow...I spent ages standing underneath being surrounded by the amazing colour.

There were mermaid tresses undulating in the fast flowing chalk stream....

...and just a hint that the season is changing. We really did have a bit of a recharge of spirits there.

I may make something different for next week's desk but don't hold me to that as I'm really enjoying the felt/thread technology!!

Have a great week everyone xxxxx

Happy WOYWW. Great photos. I would love a shepherd's hut or gypsy caravan in the garden - great for my Tarot readings and a quiet place to escape. Ali x #10

Well that was a lovely first desk of the day Jan. If I had the time I'd step right out onto some autumn sunshine and going stomping over the moors

Oh Jan that is one gorgeous desky stuff, looked down below too as wasn't here last week, the red and whites are really soo lovely stunners. saw the ornamental cherry bark like that when in Manchester in 2012, someone with us was botanically minded and knew what it was I certainly didn't know. I remember I also photographed it. Thanks for sharing your space .. lovely to visit. happy WOYWW Shaz in Oz.x #14

Looks like you've got a busy production line going on, Jan, with those cute little ornaments and bunting. I do love the idea of a Shepherd's hut in the garden - I even looked it up on Ebay. The new ones are pretty pricey, but the second hand ones might be going for just a few hundred pounds. They remind me of those beach huts a little, on wheels! Enjoy your week! zsuzsa #22

It doesn't matter if it's the same items we're seeing. we love the flurry of activity. The bunting turned out adorable!!! Love the hut too. Such a cute little spot to getaway to, but it wouldn't fit my craft supplies so it is not for me. Maybe I can get three (one each for hubs and the 2 kids - ha). Happy Wednesday! LisaDV #26

Great photos Jan. Looks like you're well prepared with lots of lovely things for the craft fairs - I wish I was so well organised - the jigsaw took over last week - like you, once I start I just can't stop until it's finished.

If that's what's on the desk then that how it goes! Your desk might be messy but it's clean messy unlike mine which is messy and covered in paint but I try. So love the hut which could be very useful in the garden. Have a great woyww and happy crafting, Angela x 19

Your desk is lovely! I made a bunch of felt ornaments one year and just found I'm too impatient to hand stitch everything. :) They are so pretty though! And the fact that you're making it all for charity is wonderful. I could do with a shepherd's hut in my yard too... somewhere to go to get away from all the animals and people living here for a few minutes. Have a great week! Heather #40

what an awesome post! Loved the pictures of your desk and all the fun stuff you are doing! I went with Heather to Pennsic wars again this year and a lot of people are buying into these shepherds huts (called vardo's) for their camping when at war. It would be more comfortable then sleeping on the ground and a place to escape. Beautiful pictures of the garden! Thanks for visiting my desk earlier and leaving a comment. Have a great week! Your ornaments are so pretty! They remind me of all the felt ornaments my Mom used to make for our Christmas Tree when I was young. The bunting is so uber-cute! And you take amazing fall photos! A bit jealous... (Jen #16)

Hi There Lovely
Been away for a couple of days, owe you an email. When we travelled down to N Wales I did not see a lot of colour in the trees but then two days later on the way back we noticed a change. Fab colours you are showing us.
Love the Shepherds Hut - once stayed in Worcester with a gang of girls (ladies really) and there was a Shepherds Hut there. Fabulous - yes, I could do with one in my garden - great for curling up in.
Well done on all the Christmas things you have been making someone is going to be very lucky when they open those big bags full of goodness.
Hugs for now
Neet xx
