WHO PUT THE COLOURS IN THE RAINBOW?

SHAZ UPDATE: Shaz is improving slowly but it is going to take quite a while before she's fully mobile again. For more info, see http://birdshospitalstay.blogspot.co.uk

No crafting to show AGAIN this week, for which apologies. But the last 7 days has included taking Rhys to Uni, visit to Wales, hospital appts with my dad, the arrival of a skip (new bathroom approaches, yippee).

But I did take delivery of some new yarn a couple of weeks ago, which I forgot to show you before!
Doesn't that make you smile?!  The Wool Warehouse were having a sale of Drops yarn and I bought these to make a bed runner or blanket - it was 80p a ball, I just couldn't resist. I love the way the yarns come packed in that pretty muslin bag!

I love these colours so much...it's unusual for me to go for pastels, but hey, a leopard can change her spots, can't she? :-)  I'm crocheting this up on a 5mm hook, so it should grow quite quickly into a beautiful stripy something.

Oh, another thing that happened this past week was our 33rd wedding anniversary...I know, I don't look old enough, do I ;-)  These have made me smile too.....

Gorgeous, aren't they?  There must be a closet pretty pink girlie lurking inside my tomboy exterior, lol!!

Hopefully normal service will be resumed next week, but as we have tiles and an old bathroom to pull out before building work commences, I may see you in a fortnight :-)

Take care and live it large xxxx

Jan, I am linked up already. For some reason the Internet is working here in the hotel. Tried then to link you but my iPad refuses to let me. I copied your correct rule but there is nowhere to go on Julia's post. Tried all sorts. Sorry.
Cannot believe you are going to crochet a blanket. Wow! Such pretty colours so should be interesting to see.
Lovely, absolutely gorgeous flowers. Congratulations, and here's to the Golden one.
Hugs Neet 4 xx (who feels bad she could not link you)

Loving all the pretty yarn colors. How fun. And such beautiful flowers. And a little pink is often quite fun. Happy Anniversary to both of you. Wishing you luck with the new bathroom remodel. We got our new shower in and usable but haven't had a free minute to look for the wall fixing or the new sink. With vacation, mom, medical appts, funerals, I've hardly had time to sleep. And we are taking a day to go to the last FAIR in our area for the year, if the 35 mph winds don't take us away. Happy WOYWW #1 somehow this week.

Gorgeous colours of wool....would go well in my new sewing room :-)
Hugs,

A blanket sounds ambitious to me, and many years work, but I love your pastels - they will look so pretty and I'm sure you'll whizz through it and be astounding me with your talent in no time! Congratulation on your anniversary - I do love the flowers, and although like you I'm not a 'pink' person, I do make an exception with flowers - we all need a little pink in our lives now and then! Hope you have a great week,
Diana xx

Hi Jan - love those yarns and something stripy sounds great! I'm a big stripes fan - I have to stop myself from buying any more stripy tops - people might think I'm turning into a zebra! You always take such amazing photos - the one of your bouquet is absolutely gorgeous! Happy WOYWW - zsuzsa @ InkyDinkyDoodle #38

Happy anniversary Jan. You must have been a gym-slip bride that's all I can say!! The flowers are lovely. Life expectance of a bunch of flowers in Tilly Tea Dance Towers is about three days as I'm hopeless at keeping them alive but I do like to appreciate them in someone elses vase! Happy crafting / builder supervising :-)

Good to have a Shaz update! Your yarn looks so yummy. I think there must be a too-busy-to-craft thing in the air, because it has been hard lately to do anything! For me it's been the eye surgery situation, and before that I really was too busy! I'm feeling much better now though, and I have actually had Violet stitching up some things. But you know what I'd really like to make that is sort of out there for me is a coat! Isn't that crazy? But I want to make a funky, embroidered, boho looking kind of coat--so I've got that filed away in the brain among other things. My tomatoes did terrible this year, so I'm just getting butternut squash out of the garden now. But I toss them in olive oil with a few potatoes, roast in the oven, and it's delish. Hugs to you dearest! Sandy Leigh #40

Who's a lucky girl then, the flowers are gorgeous. You must have been married at 5 years old to be married for that long :) Love that wool. I'm with you on the crazy times thing, my feet don't touch the ground some days. It's going to be a lot of fun while your new bathroom is going in. I just hope you don't have the same trouble with your taps as I had. Enjoy ripping out the old bathroom, swinging a hammer is very therapeutic. Have a great week. Von #8
