SOFT KITTY, WARM KITTY...LITTLE BALL OF FUR,
HAPPY KITTY, SLEEPY KITTY, PURR, PURR, PURR
(thanks for the lyric, Rhys!   Copyright: Chuck Lorre Productions)

It's been another crazy week at LLJ Towers...some crafting has been done. But I can't show you it yet as it's going to be a prezzy!

I was asked to make a tote bag and slip covers for two music stands by Helen, a friend of mine. Red is her favourite colour so I dug out all the fabrics I have with scarlet hues :-)

And Helen chose this for her tote...there was just enough of the fabric....phew!

Topstitching the straps and external/internal pockets. I cut the handles with the bars of colour going horizontally, you get to see more colours that way!
And that's as far as the bag making went yesterday.....

I brought my music stand upstairs to draw around it and make a template for the slip cover, but this is as far as I got.  The weather is forecast to be appalling on Thursday and into Friday so I'll have a good session then instead.

I'll leave you with a sneaky pic taken by my hubby!

My boys gave me two colouring for adults books for my birthday and I am REALLY enjoying doing them. It's quite Zen. Here I am, enjoying a moment of peace, absorbed in the fine detail of Johanna Basford's beautiful illustrations. Ron is supervising, of course.....

Nothing can relax quite like a cat :-)  Lol

Short(ish) from me today....I hope Brownie points are forthcoming!!

Have a great week xxx

The fabrics are lush:)

I am also in the adult colouring books. Waiting for a set of three to come in the post. There are many on Amazon. I have ordered three for the price of one, so a real bargain.

What a handsome lad your Ron is.

You do look very relaxed there. I can't help having naughty thoughts every time I see the words "Adult colouring books". Please say it's not just me?!

I love Ron, he is gorgeous!
Great therapeutic hobby is colouring in. Maybe that is why I love my H2o's because I can get lost just colouring. I also like those 'Dangles' if that is what they are called, much easier than zentangling. Must do some and then you can see what I mean.
What a lot of fabric you have that has red in it.
Hugs and thanks for sharing - Neet 19 xx

Love the fabrics - spot and stripes look so good together. Lovely to see your gorgeous cat keeping you company - isn't he a handsome lad! I've never tried those colouring books but I'm always tempted when I see them - they have some fabulous and very intricate designs in them.
Enjoy your week and thanks for stopping by earlier,

OOh I wish I had that knack for relaxation that cats do best. Your workroom always looks so light and bright and ... well, tempting, with all those lovely colours. Grown up colouring is FAB! I'm into Zentangle as well, similarly therapeutic :o) Annie C #34

Hiya Jan- Big Bang Theory- awesome. And Sheldon- best character EVER created- I want to be just like him, lol. Except I'll never be that smart- rude, sarcastic and inappropriate, yes, but not smart, rofl. Ron does look extremely comfy there, doesn't he?
Not sure what we are doing yet, were sort of planning a weekend away, but thats going to depend very much on the weather. If it's going to be wet, we won't bother.
Thanks for the birthday wishes, we will do our best, lol. It may involve sacrificing a few cocktails to the god of birthdays! Just spotted your Nag Mac Feegle mug in the photo. Thats ace. Must admit, I still have a snigger when I read adult colouring books! Love and lots of hugs to you all, Shaz xxxx

I actually have a Soft Kitty doll; had to put it up high in the closet so Dakota didn't kill her! LOL!
And Ron is such a cutie! I love the idea of the music stand bag; mine is constantly falling out of my hands (maybe I should carry less things! LOL!) or getting banged around in the car. Can't wait to see it finished. Have a great week. -K #42

Jan I love those coloring books! I saw them at Barnes & Noble and may have to get one for destressing. You know, I pick up my violin every now and then, but I never thought of making a pretty cover for my music stand--what!!! I've got to do that! I love that owl fabric laying there, her tote will be fab of course. I just said a prayer for darling son...he will surely get in. If it gets too stressful, keep stitching and coloring, that always works for me. I'm off to eye exam today, so I won't be able to see well for a few hours after the dilation. Please say a prayer it goes well. Hugs!! Sandy Leigh #38

Great range of colours for the tote. No doubt you're steaming along with your purge of the stash! Ron looks as peaceful in repose as Benjamin!x

You may have as many Browniwe Points as you can find hidden in the colouring book.....
It looks very zen...and then I see you have the pens facing away from you and I want to make you turn them round and my zen disappears and ergh!
Fab picture of Ron, huh.

Love your kitty, they know all the best places to be. Those colouring books seem to be taking over the world. More gorgeous fabrics, scrummy. I will try and photograph the printing blocks soon, they are scattered around the house. I had to do this so him in-doors wouldn't realise how many I had bought! Thanks for the visit to mine and happy woyww, Angela x 24 xXx

Love Big Bang so you got my attention right off. Pretty fabrics. I just got Jamie Dougherty's color book and have been enjoying it too. I wasn't sure I would like that kind of thing but like you said, zen! Peg R 53

Hello my dear LLJ. The tote looks like it's going to be very bright and fun. I noticed some familiar owl fabric on your desk; not in the same colors but in the same line as my wonderful apron and needle case.

I love the photo of you coloring in your book. I actually was at a store not too long ago and bought one for myself. I can't decide to use crayons or markers or colored pencils what are you using?

Hugs
Kay

I LOVE that photo of you... I too have a 'colouring book for adults" and it is indeed very zen to work in it. I haven't been colouring for a while though... but seeing you at that table, I might get my pencils out too! Should be lovely on a cooling-down Summer evening (as I hope it to be tonight, as right now temperatures are rising and it's getting hot in the Netherlands...bleehhh...) Happy colouring, happy woyww and a hug from Sunny Holland Marit #36

What a lovely shot of you having your Zen time. Glad to know I am not the only crayon addict. I have always loved them although, perhaps, four complete sets might be a little over the top? Maybe not and I don't care anyway. I will just enjoy using them. Have a great time with your tote creations. xxx Maggie

Lovely sewing work as usual. I am intigued by the transparent giant ruler. How do you use that? I mean what is it for?
I love the photo of you colouring. I have those books too but I haven't used them yet as I don't have many colouring pens or pencils. I do do zentangle (or my version of it). Just looking at your cat relaxes me.
Have a good week, and sorry I'm late but I did mention we were going away for a few days.
Thank you for visiting,
Lisca

Hi Jan! Typical cat. Either supervising or sleeping. Sometimes they are doing one when they appear to be doing the other. LOL I have 2 in residence. I always love to come around to see what fabric you are working with. Thank hubby for sharing a pic of you. ;-) Creative Blessings! Kelly #46

Things I learnt on your blog today:
1. Big Bang Theory fan
2. Another convert to zen colouring (both my mum and I love it too)
3. Your a Pratchett fan (the Crivens mug)-ok, I knew that one, but didn't know you could get the mug :-)

I'm so sad I missed last week's post with the kitties! I knew I wouldn't get around to WOYWWing the day after my dental surgery though (healing well but I'm quite tired of the whole thing). Love that you got one of the adult coloring books. I wouldn't dare ask for one as I'd end up with an X-rated one courtesy of hubby (he has a pop up box on sex I dare say). Anyway, I had a train of thought and it derailed.... oh! No kitties this week for me as Charles was hiding in terror under a far chair. He jumped up onto my bagel and sent it and himself flying so he knew he was in trouble. He also has cream cheese all over himself but I guess he'll figure that out sooner or later (or if not, Jack will and he'll lick him clean).
