WOYWW 261

Thank you for the days

Those endless days, those sacred days you gave me
I'm thinking of the days
I won't forget a single day believe me.
(the late, great Kirsty McColl)

Wow, what a week that was....so many beautiful ATCs received, the Crop stuff to derig and pack away....it was like being slightly hungover or the feeling you get when your exams are over. What to do next.....
I had a massive attack of PINK, that's what!
I'm setting out patchwork squares (all from scrappy stash) to make a bed runner for the granddaughter of a friend...no fancy quilting pattern...keep it simple to show off the pretty fabrics.
After pondering The Border, I just decided to use ordinary white bias binding...simple but frames the colours prettily (I'm sure prettily is spelled correctly but it looks wrong!! One of those words that you never know when to stop...prettittililily or bananananananana.... ;-)
I flipped over the top to show the soft fleece that was used for the backing, so wadding wasn't necessary.  Isn't it funny how some projects are a complete*&%$£ to put together and others just work - this was one of the latter!
A project from two weeks ago that I just haven't had time to share ....more PINK  *grin*
Bunting - it's gotta be done!!
Some more amazing ATCs arrived!  Happy dance...
Top L-R Annie (Wipso), Caro, Kim Young, Jo (Twiglet)
Bottom L-R Sylvia (Little Treasures), Lisa (Craft Garden) and Nan G
Thank you so much Ladies, they are all gorgeous, I love them!

Two pics to finish with....I've been so lucky to receive ATCs, messages and cards from all over the world. Thank you, I'm sending some love right back atcha :-)
And a rather blurry iPhone shot of Ron, my cat, peering through the umbrella hole in the patio table. Taken at arm's length by Mr LLJ,  shooting blindly...and I love it!  Curiosity and the cat indeed....

Thanks for listening to my witterings...have a great week!!

Hi Jan - we're both ahead of the game this week (certainly makes a change for me!) The pinks are gorgeous, and I bet it makes a refreshing change from atc's, no matter how much you love 'em! Your cat is so cute. Have a great week, Chris (Teddy Wares and Flutterbies) no no. yet.

Once again I'm here early, trying to stop by a few desks to say hi while Julia sleeps away. Thanks again to you and Mr. LLJ for the cropped photo. Love the one of Ron, too. That one even had Bleubeard smiling. Yep, I can tell from the look on his face.

So was Matilda dancing when she got the bunting? Was that too much of a pun? I'm not a pink gal, but I'm going to be that way if I visit your blog enough times. The runner and the bunting are both fabulous.

I see you got more lovely ATCs. They look awesome. Again, no number, just getting an early start.

So much lovely material on show here, so summery and cheerful. Need that on a damp dismal rainy day. I was going to visit your favourite shop last weekend but it started raining and I turned idle. Next year, I will go for sure. Your bag is the perfect place to store and carry all the chargers I need when I go away and for the Kindles, MP3 etc. They are now all together and I know where they are. Brilliant! Have a good week. xx Maggie

Only listened to that song the other day. I am trying to get through ALL my CD's in the car this year. Loving the pinks, I seem to be into pink in my latter years, didn't know it existed when I was a child! Hope the cat is OK after all the curiosity - LOL Thanks for the visit sans number/linky BJ

I must admit that I am not much of a pink girl but the colors and designs for the bed runner are gorgeous! Love it when projects are easy instead of fussy and hard, makes them more enjoyable! It was nice to meet Ron. http://afocusedjourney.blogspot.com/2014/06/working-in-wee-hours-of-morning.html

I did make an assumption, Jan, and now have a countdown calendar on my blog (it is Helen's fault, she wanted it) which is counting down to the May Bank Holiday next year. xx Maggie

Oh, just love the shot of Ron. Reminds me of a cat I used to have - somewhere I have a photo of her in a carrier bag peering through the handles. Can't help but love them!
Gorgeous quilt for your friends daughter and fabulous bunting for Matilda. I really must clear away one day soon and have a sew day - bunting maybe?
Have a good day/week - Hugs, Neet x

Just and adorable quilt..love the display of pretty fab. You keep so creatively busy. I just have so many "Life" projects to complete and blaming it all on to our April/May weather. June's calendar is full with commitments and with a class reunion coming I've pushed hard on walking and biking !!! It's a weight thing...and a health issue of late. Enjoy the week, I'm sure it full of fabric ideas. Thanks for sharing your lovely ATC's they all just make me smile !!

Watch out! It's an attack of the pinks! I like your new banner, I recognise the pins used to make the first W too! At least you cracked on and finished something, I think I may have been tempted by sticking me feet up for a few days and vegging. Love the cat photo, very cool and so true to their nature.

Hugs

Isn't it funny how the most simple things can be the most beautiful? That bed runner is absolutely adorable!! (almost as adorable as Ron peering through the umbrella hole!) Now, I wish you could have seen my face when I opened the package a few days ago--I just felt like I received eight huge creative hugs. You are such a good friend and soul sister and so good to me. Thank you sooo much...I love those ATCs and what they represent even more. I had to take them and make an art display out of them right away to hang in my crafty corner! I get inspired now every time I look at it. I kept thinking of you all on the day of the crop, and I'm so happy to know your thoughts were bouncing back across the ocean to me. Now, your patchwork beauty has inspired me to do one, because I have a lot of five-inch squares I've cut--BUT--I also have that 4-inch square Bigz diecut I can use on my Big Shot, and of course I want to do this with my Downton fat quarters!! Big big hugs to you dearest--oh--and one more thing. I was in the garden and two little white butterflies kept fluttering around me for about an hour--everywhere I worked in the garden, there they were. I started thinking they looked like little angels. Then I realized--it was May and June hanging out together and checking up on me. They might be coming your way! Gorgeous quilt Jan, the recession has been a god send to textiles enthusiasts as there has been an increase in fabrics available and more sewing equipment for sale than there has been for a long time. This is often the case when there is a recession as people become more interested in making thier own or altering and upcycling what they already have.
Sorry that's the teacher in me raising it's head again, you never loose it lol!
Love your cat and the gorgeous set of ATCs.
I've sent you an email too so hope it gets to you.
Happy crafting, Angela x

Hi Jan, love, love, love the quilt ... it's going to be well loved by the little girl, heck this big girl would love to see it at the bottom of her bed :) And Matilda is going to be thrilled with the bunting. Hello LLJ,

The bed runner is very cute - I'm sure your friend's granddaughter will love it. The bunting is great, too. Matilda. That reminds me of "Waltzing Matilda." I loved that song as a child.

Ron looks quite dapper in that photo - very cute indeed!

Thank you for thinking of me while at the Crop. I honestly feel so blessed to have met you!

Happy belated WOYWW

Bless you.
