JUNE IS BUSTIN' OUT ALL OVER....
(you'll see why later....)

This has been one busy week...and the pace continues til Saturday. I'm going to stay in bed until the afternoon, drinking tea and eating cake and doing NOTHING. Yeah, like that's going to happen...... grin!

So, this is a snapshot of what's happened so far...

I took out the cap sleeves of a Per Una dress for my head teacher..I had to hand sew the new armhole....hope it washes ok.....

I started to sew the crocheted squares together...

Did the scenery painting for the Year 6 play in school.....

Think I'll call in for a cappuccino.... :-)

Made a pair of Big Pants - this one's for you, Mary Anne!!!

But by far the best highlight of the week was Morti and Mr B's wedding at the weekend. It was quite wonderful...we had such fun!
But here's the reason for today's song title.....
Morti...you looked A-MA-ZING! Thanks for being such a good sport to let me put up this pic today :-)

P.S If you are kind enough to leave a comment, it may be a while before I can reply as I'm off out on a school trip all day....... thank you!

Hi Jan-What is that saying about no grass grows under your feet? You've been very busy and its all so cool. The scenery is wonderful...school plays are the best! Glad you and Julia had some time to get together and she liked the stickers. Seems a small token for all she does. Sooner or later I will get into my fabric stash and I have just the thing in mind to send to you. I should warn you however it will be weeks....too many things going on. But this way it will be when you least expect it.
Hope you had fun on the school excursion!

Hi Jan, I can see you have had a quiet sort of week over at yours hehehe. Don't they say if you want a job doing ask a busy tradesman?
That photo of you three should be linked to my weeks smiles :-) What a good sport Morti is but to have you pair at her wedding she just knew she was in for a great day.

You did say at the crop that you were having a busy time coming up - you weren't wrong. Hope the play went well - although I saw on FB it did. I also saw some of Morti's wedding pics - what a stunning look. Have a great day on the school trip. Helen, 7

What a great time you've had with lots of fun and frolics. Great pic with Morti too.
your scenery is super and must have been perfect for the children's play. Isn't it amazing when you see the crochet squares all together. So rewarding but I just loath sewing them up so now I stick to the wave/ripple stitch for my blankets. Far easier but when it gets big it's not so easier to pop in your bag! Hey ho! Can't have it all perfect!

Have you been anywhere nice today, Jan. I love school trips but they are exhausting. Put your feet up and have a cuppa when you get back.

Hey, now I know the secret to having all your energy--stay in bed and eat cake!! I may try that this weekend! The Cafe set piece is adorable! That would be fun to have just sitting around! You always inspire me, so of course, now I can't wait to finish knitting the last square and start on the knit quilt. It doesn't even make sense that I call it a knit quilt--it won't be quilted--but I like the idea of all the knit patches sewn together. Violet was very busy yesterday, I was sewing a tag and decorating some khaki shorts! Then I want to make the MollieMakes birdie keychains. I love all your school activities, what fun! You are an awesome girl soul sister! Hugs! Sandy Leigh #14

In answer to your ?
I edge all my blankets with a hook 2 or 3 sizes smaller than the main crochet. Mine was wavy at first so I undid it a coupe of time and went with a smaller and smaller hook until it was perfect.
Hope it works for you,
Jo x
