WOYWW 176

SOMETIMES PEOPLE COME INTO YOUR LIFE
LIKE THEY'RE MEANT TO BE.
AND SUDDENLY YOU'VE FOUND SOMEONE
WHO SEES THE WORLD LIKE YOU SEE...

AND YOU LAUGH LIKE CRAZY
AT ALL THE CRAZY THINGS,
THAT NO-ONE THINKS ARE FUNNY BUT YOU
THAT'S WHEN I KNEW
THAT I HAD FRIENDS SO TRUE.

Well, I can't say it any better than that! It was like we'd known each other for ever!
WOYWWers - fab people united by craft :D
(for a LOT more pics, see here)

So it's been quite hard to come back down to earth after all the planning, panic, cooking, welcoming, serving, chatting, laughing, eating etc etc! I had some lovely things given to me...
A gorgeous album and mini bunting from Donna, a pretty heart from Janet, Slovenian sweets from Dolores, a lovely card from Kate and two squares of crochet from Jozart for me to extend and practise on. Thank you, girls, that was so kind of you!!
This awesome bag bling from JoZart - I love it!!

So, I'm getting in the All Saints Eve mood...something wicked this way comes...
Love the skull fabric, it goes really well with the polka dots!
And this is something I made for my friend Sue's birthday recently (she of special WOYWW cupcake fame!)
She's a Pink Person too - watch out, Di... :D

And the odd one out from last week WAS  the ammonite!! I hadn't spotted it until I posted the photo - I'd brought it out to take to school to show a couple of kids, fabric got put on top of it and I completely forgot all about it until I saw it on the pic! The brain cells have put up a white flag and are retreating extremely quickly...Run Away, Run Away (my favourite scene from Monty Python & the Holy Grail...)
Cut out the waffling, LLJ and get to the point!! So a few folk got it right and a little prizelet will be winging its way to

HELEN  of THE CRAFT PROJECT

Please could you email your snail mail address to me and I'll send you a little something *grin*

Bye for now, I'm off for a snooze........zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Perfect words. It did feel like we had all met and known each other for years which is fab. You and Julia were just as I imagined and I loved every minute. You guys sure looked after me, and that made it possible for me to be there. Lunch was so yummy, had to have a bit of everything. I have some long lasting memories now and that keeps me smiling, but I meant what I said, I will be returning down your way and I'll be sure to make sure you ladies are around when I do! Take care Zo xx 78

Morti said...

Oh yes..... Yes yes yes yes yes..... I NEED that fabric. I mean , I really really NEED that fabric. Where did you get it and please can I buy the rest of the roll?

We are having school bag issues with Lil Miss B at the moment, along the lines of everything we buy only lasting 5 minutes (they just don't make 'em like they used to). So I'm going to have to make a bag or ten (or get someone I know to make them and I'll buy them off her) that is sturdy yet attractive to a skater chick/goth/emo teen. And that skulls fabric is PERFECT for the lining. And for cushions. And will make some nice curatins for her bedroom to stop her complaining about the knights on horseback she currently has.... and a nice dress (have you seen the price of frocks by Hell Bunny?).

And I still haven't shown you how to make the wire spirals/coils, so we must get together, you fabulous lady you......

I really enjoyed the crop photos. Your hubby did a great job. And of course, I love that Halloween fabric. I could make SO many fun quiltlets with the skulls and roses.

Didn't recognize the song you started with. Odd, because I normally sing whatever song you've chosen all day long! Happy WOYWW from # 2.

I am still thinking about the WOYWWers crop and get-together--these are my tribe members! And you are no doubt my soul sister, because just talking about the day class you took on color--that's totally something I would do! I love the sweet gifts you got, and the pics you snapped, and especially Helen's mat. Awesome. Helen is truly bendy! So, to answer your question about Tent Theatre--my hubby worked as a techie when he was in grad school for Tent, and then later he worked at the university and was paid to design sets and lighting for Tent. I was along for the ride--I've done lots of Little Theatre here in town--but only a patron of the Tent, every June and July. This was their 50th anniversary this summer--quite the big shindig. I saw Mr. Goodman at every party! He just drives around town in an old car when he's here, and keeps it lowkey--you'd never know he's a big star! Of course, Brad Pitt is from here, and people just tend to leave him alone when he comes back to visit his folks. We've seen Angelina and the kids at the movie theatre! Happy WOYWW! Sandy Leigh #11

Loving seeing all these piccies of the get together. I am quite jealous but am banished from driving very far at the moment!

I do love that combo of the skulls and polka dots. My bag goes with me EVERYWHERE, it's like a tardis inside! And I always, always get complimented on it and asked where I got it, especially at the hospital when I produce my gigantic maternity folder magically from inside (send me some business cards woman - at the mo I just keep telling people to google Lunch Lady Jan!)

Have a fabulous week :)

I've really enjoyed seeing all the photos of the crop though admittedly I've had the odd stab of envy and wishing I had been their emotions ... but I'll get over it and just hope I'll make the next one - if Cardarian can make, then so can I :) Fab pressies, including the awesome bag bling and the set you've made your friend is gorgeous. And talking of gorgeous, that fabric with the skulls is so beyond gorgeous - love it and can't wait to see the finished project. Belated happy WOYWW and I hope you have a great weekend. Sorry to be so late getting round again. I had a very busy end to the week and am only just catching up with myself.

It certainly looks like you had a great day meeting up with everyone. We did something like that a couple of times on a craft forum I used to go on so I know how special it is to actually meet up with cyber friends. You came home with some beautiful things too. I look forward to seeing how big those squares grow by week by week!

Thanks for stopping by this week.

Happy Crafting!
