I AM THE LITTLE RED ROOSTER.....
Another chicken lyric today, or could that be subterfuge? You'll see why later...
It's been another busy week, there's been a lot more sunshine (Yay!) and a bit more warmth (Double Yay!) and spring flowers are appearing everywhere (Triple Yay!)
The strip quilt for the lad was finished:
The camo backing worked well and he was really thrilled with it, which is lovely! I had some other blocks made up so thought I might as well get another made and see if it goes at one of the craft fairs in March:
It's my aim to use up every little last piece of the fabric I buy! I bought a dove grey cotton double duvet cover from the Bargain Bin in Dunelm for £6, so got two quilt backs out of that, woohoo!
I turned my machine sideways on the cleared desk in the JanCave which spread the weight of the quilt more evenly:
I have enough blocks for one more quilt and then that's it for a while.
I saw great tutorial on YouTube by a watercolour artist called Krista Robertson, where she splodged a background and then used flower stencils to take the paint off and leave a negative image, the stencils were very cheap so:
Aren't they pretty? I think these will get a lot of use.
As well as crafting, there's been walking:
A panorama from the Gower round to the RNLI station. Funny to think that if you headed out straight out in front of you, then the next land you'd hit would be the mid to south east coast of America. No wonder the storms come barrelling across the Atlantic and we have huge tides too!
And today's lyric? A postbox topper appeared in a nearby village featuring that arch villain Feathers McGraw:
Absolute genius! Kudos to whoever crafted him, it's marvellous. So there's the Little Red Rooster....or not....
Have a wonderful week everyone, the weather is set fair apart from today, so there's more walking and crafting in store, can't be bad eh?

Feathers McGraw is fabulous, he looks a good size too. Great quilts and I like the watercolour idea, must see if I can find it and the stencils too of course🙃. Happy WOYWW. Angela #3
What an awesome cock! I bet that raised a smile or two. You have done a fab job with the quilts and they will last for years won't they. Yesterday's sunshine was glorious but today it's wet so I shall be back to my bookmarks..x x Jo 🌈
Hello Jan, I’m so taken with your quilt and its colours and textures I can’t take my eyes of it

The quilts are great, Jan, and your watercolours are pretty. Lovely to see the sun again and your panorama is stunning. I remember how we’d still be in the throes of winter in Newcastle and we’d come down to Wales to find spring well underway! Here there are daffs and snowdrops but it’s been dull and rainy. Send us some of that sunshine, would you? 🤣.
Happy WOYWW, hugs,

The quilts look amazing...it's such a great way to use up scraps of fabric and you do such a lovely job with the colours.

Glad you are getting out and about a bit more, the weather looks lovely on the photo.
How cute is that topper! I rarely see them around here so when I do I get all excited.
Look forward to seeing this watercolouring you are about to embark on - the stencils are ever so pretty.
So glad the lad liked his quilt but who could not.?
Have a great week, Hugs, Neet 13 xx

Hi again, saw your question about the C. cards. These new ones are only half way through the process and I have some more interesting circles ready to be attached, I''l show you those next week. I don't normally batch make cards like this other than for Christmas but I am loving this stamp and trying it out on a variety of colours. Take care and have a good woyww. Hugs Angela x12x
Love your quilts and what a place to be able to walk. Have a great week. Anesha
Super quilts and using bargain quilt covers for backing is brill. Gorgeous stencils too, need to see the water colour technique though....Ah the beach, not sure if I miss the beaches or not, just to get out in the countryside would be good but the weather here isn't as great and now it gasworks and road closures again. Fortunately ours got done today just need the massive holes outside to be refilled....Hugs BJ#9
Hi! Your qullt is gorgeous! Your work is always so beautiful. I am reminded of the time when I was a child and my grandmother and other "mothers" of the church would make quilts from flour sacks. They were so pretty!
I have used that technique with stencils and it does product beautiful images that can be used as focals or backgrounds. I can't wait to see what you create!
Sorry for the late visit!

Dear Jan!
I agree to the triple Yay!
We had three sunny days too. I adore the finnished quilt!
You're always so busy.
I asked aunty Google for Krista Robertson and found the video.
I pinned it on Pinterest. This is so cool. I have a lot of stencils to. Sleeping in my craft attic.
The postbox topper brought me a big smile.
Greetings from Austria. Eva
