STILL GOT THE BLUES FOR YOU...

Believe it or not, I'm feeling much better after The Plague!  I've been out walking, seeing folk and generally being outside the house, hooray, it took a while but we're getting there.

Consequently, I've done quite a bit more sewing as I've committed to doing a few fairs as well as supplying the Harbour Lights - I still can't get over the amount from the collection tin last week, £516, the best yet!

I knew putting the bed in the JanCave was a bad idea, it's become an extra work surface:

It's just too handy to chuck things onto!

Parts for bags, wrist straps, finished key fobs, finished items, kitchen sink etc.

I'm obsessed with making these, hope I sell some now!

Hence why there's a pile of interfacing strips on the desk - I even put in a new rotary cutter blade!

My sister in law Jill is a wonderful quilter and made this hanging:

Isn't it marvellous? I love the texture of the hills and the water and the way the swans look as if they're in the water rather than on top of it, she's a clever lass!

Hope you've had a good week - may all your crafting go well xxx

 THEY CALL ME MELLOW YELLOW

Only 6 weeks to go to the Big 8.0.0. of these wonderful weekly desky snoops! I hope we celebrate somehow because it's a real achievement and celebration of crafting and friendship xx

While I am feeling better, there's still not much oomph so I have been doing sewing as that keeps me out of mischief but is as active as I feel like being at the moment.

I made a start on this gorgeous happy sunflower fabric and had just enough of the mellow yellow for the lining!

View from the machine! The bed is proving very useful for laying out works in progress - as you can see, I've progressed onto chickens now. The fabric bag is the equivalent of Angela's famous Exploding Box! All the largest fabric scraps get chucked in there and after a while, I sort them out when it's reached tipping over point.

I saw some new ideas online and bought some equipment to have a go myself.

Some wide ended pliers and hardware to make wrist strap key fobs:

It's something different to put on the stall and uses up scraps and are simple to make - that's a win win win for me, lol!

And finally, something that a friend saw in our nearby town, Llanelli:

Fun huh? I love the seagull and the buoyancy aid, great little details xx

And that's it from me, short and sweet! Hope you're all keeping well and happy, enjoy your crafting xx

 LAZY SUNDAY AFTERNOON...

Actually that should be lazy all day, every day at the moment! While G and I finally tested negative for Covid at the weekend, the fatigue continues - we are trying to do a bit more but just have to resign ourselves to resting afterwards. It's a pain but these things take time.

I have tried to do a bit more crafting after sorting out the JanCave. I now have our son's old single bed in there after he bought himself a new double, it was too good to get rid of:

Perfect for a mid project siesta! It's fitted in quite well but the shelves have had to be moved:

This took a couple of days to do but is all nicely arranged for when I get my mojo back!

I did do a simple bit of sewing for a fellow market stall trader who does wonderful honey and beeswax products. She had kindly given me some really useful fabric and asked if I could do a slightly larger purse for her to keep banknotes in. I sent off for some bee fabric and made two, one with a zip and one with a popper:

I'll give her both and she can choose what to use for what! The bottom purse is quilted to give it a bit more rigidity and, brace yourselves, I measured the lines and used tailor's chalk instead of winging it!!

I was impressed with myself, lol! Of course I would have winged it normally but I wanted this to be precise as it was a thank you.

Another sit down bit of crafting came when I got a few old watercolours out and made them into cards, not complicated and it wasn't too taxing:

It's always useful to have a few cards to hand.

And that's it, I'm hoping to have a bit more energy next week. Hope your crafting goes well xxxx

 TAKE IT EASY...

Hi everyone, welcome to another week of desky snooping. I'm afraid this is going to be a very quick post from me today as I've hardly done anything. The reason? A rather nasty surprise on my birthday on 1st August was testing positive for Covid - G has it too and we've been very poorly. We still have it!

So this has been my view for a week - thank goodness for the Olympics coverage and a little crocheting when I've felt like it. I haven't even wanted to sew, that speaks volumes eh?!

I had some lovely cards, I'll share the handmade ones:

From Neet, Sue M (my local buddy), Helen, Eva (from Austria) and Cindy, thank you lovely gals, they really cheered me up!

My menfolk gave me Pound Fabric vouchers so I had a very happy afternoon choosing:

Bees, boats, seahorses, chickens, jungle, sunflowers, spots and floral.....mmmmmmmmmmm  I shall have fun with that lot over the next few months!

I feel as if my birthday was a washout so I shall copy the Monarch and have an official one at another date, lol!!

Hope you have a wonderful week xx
