OH...I....DO LIKE TO BE BESIDE THE SEASIDE!

It could only be this lyric today, you'll see later on in the post! It's been another crazy week, not helped by Rhys' boss testing positive for Covid, so PCR and lateral flow tests were the order of the day, thankfully we're all negative. So after 10 days in the job, he's on his own in the medical training library this week, he'll cope, he's a good lad!

Consequently crafting hasn't really taken place apart from a couple more Andrew Gleeson tutorials:

I do like the relaxed style and it's quite easy to achieve something relatively decent.

The difficulty is stopping yourself overworking things! And that is it, I've crocheted more squares but they're not very interesting to look at.

After a long and sweaty day sorting out my band's music library (well, the folders from A to E!) G and I decided to go down the harbour in the evening as the tide was in. The Yarnbombers had been busy in the week - there are probably too many pics coming up, you can enjoy or skip through!!

I made long stripey scarves which were sewn onto the railings and it was fun to see what other crafters had made, I loved these pom pom ice cream cones.

The fish that my SiL Jill and I made were swimming in shoals.

There were seahorses and octopussies.....

My little multi-coloured fishes were dotted about.

It just made you smile! It's brightened up the harbour, that's for sure, the next project involves yarnbombed flowers in the neighbouring village.

It was just such a beautiful evening, more pics (sorry!)

A puddle gave a great reflection of the newly painted lighthouse.

It was a warm balmy evening...

Loads of people were swimming or paddle boarding or sitting and gawping (us!)

Not a bad place to be!

Hope you're all doing ok, have a good week xxxxxxxxxxx

I think it's a great place to live! how lucky you are - a great decision! The yarnbombing looks really good. I love the lighthouse reflection (you knew I would) -it's right up my street. Have a good week and keep painting - love those jars of flowers. Helen #?

Stunning yarn bombs but your watercolours are even prettier! I’m off to knit today so dashing thru the early desks as best I can. And on my iPad so two finger typing. Ugh.
Happy Woyww hugs!

Happy WOYWW. No apologies needed for posting your wonderful photos. I definitely look forward to my trip to see you both. I love lighthouses. I am not doing any visiting until the house is mostly finished and my cold has gone (wouldn't want to spread the germs!), but hopefully within a month I can get on the road up to you. Your watercolouring is beautiful. I have done some similar styles on my iPad with the Procreate app, which is very satisfying to use. Get your art scanned and then you can use it to make notecards/address labels etc (I can recommend a few places to get things printed). The yarnbombing is fantastic. Ali x #2

Your artworks are so beautiful, will you be making cards with them?
Must be great to go out and enjoy an evening walk with views like that . . . thank you for sharing them, I can hear the seagulls from here . .
Sorry, my mistake . . . seagulls are overhead, they are taking in a larger view of the local tip!!!
have a good week

Hi Jan, I loved seeing all your harbour photos. Doesn’t your multicoloured fish look smart?
Very nice watercolours too.
If you’ve only done A-E of your music, does that mean more sweaty days in the band room? Sounds like you need a portable fan!
Take care and happy happy WOYWW

You can never put too many pictures of yarn bombing or anything remotely like it up for me. I love seeing things like that. Keep them coming.
Lovely photos of a balmy evening down by the sea and the lighthouse, how lucky you are. I am so envious and now want to go back to the caravan.
Your paintings are beautiful, no other word for them - I meant it when I said you want to frame and sell them, they'd soon go. Why not try painting that lighthouse from the photo?
Sorry to hear about your son, Rhys' boss testing positive. Hope he was not too ill with it, and thank goodness you were all ok. It's a bit silly when it happens isn't it, you know that if you feel perfectly well you are almost certain to be negative but you just need that message back to confirm it.
Btw - I sat and thought about the word 'negative' being attached to me - think about it Jan - it's the one time you like being called negative.
Hugs, Neet 8 xx

Jan, your watercolours are so pretty! Just great. I love the yarnbombing shots which are all such fun. Those pink jellyfish in particular made me smile, but my favourites were definitely your multicoloured fish with the scales. The only time I've ever seen yarnbombing in the flesh was outside the Kaffe Fassett exhibition at the American Museum in Bath several years ago. It's such a fun idea!

Thank you for your visit. I think it's important to get as much information out there as possible about cancer investigations and treatments because too much is still shrouded in mystery which only gives rise to fear in people. If the info can be imparted with a good bit of humour thrown into the mix, so much the better! The contraption really wasn't that uncomfortable once they'd conformed it to my shape, but it really was uncomfortable when I first got onto it! Thank goodness those two lovely ladies really knew what they were doing. I agree - the platypus would have been fun! Thank you for your good wishes for the aftermath - we can but hope and pray that the effects will be minimal in my case. Everyone's different, and they have to appraise you of all possible scenarios - it's part of Informed Consent which is so important!

Happy WOYWW,

Oh what a delicious post, the yarn bombing looks really fantastic, and I’m sure will bring double the pleasure of or the people that can see it in real life, how cheering. Just the job. So sorry for Rhys, more upheaval, but as long as you’re all negative and OK, that’s a relief isn’t it. Remember a year ago we were a bit fretful that we knew someone who knew someone, these days it’s really so much closer. Relaxing the rules has made it seem a very casual thing around here. Beach shots are gorgeous, prolly making a few people homesick for somewhere they don’t live!!

Hi Jan, I am glad to hear you all are OK. Oooh so much pretty to see, I love your paintings and the yarn bombing shots and the reflections on the water in each of those shots. :) I keep attempting to paint the seashore and or water scenes so its interesting to see how the light dances across it. :) Your lighthouse looks great with the new paint too. ~Stacy #20

Not a bad place to be at all, Jill. The shot of the reflection in the puddle is fab. And what's not to live about yarn bombing ... It brings a lot of fun to any place.

Your watercolours are beautiful. I'm tempted to get my paints and paper out and give it a go myself - I'm sure Silver would be keen to help!

Have a great week. Hugs, Elizabeth x #24

Heyo Jan!! Getting around late this week to everyone. I LOVE your photos!! Post away, they are always so gorgeous!! If I had that view, I'd post as well! Sooooooo glad there were negative reports on the tests! It is really ramping back up in my neck of the woods! We are back to mandatory masks and they are talking about getting a booster out to everyone....looking like there's another jab on the way! Uggghhh, better safe than sorry, however!! Ohhhh I LOVE the Yarnbombers business that is going on! I have NEVER seen anything like that before! Too cool!! I wish I lived in a community that did neato stuff like that, but alas...... The little octos were too cute!! Thanks for stopping by my desk and as always, your sweet comments! Blessings Jan, Felicia #21

Hi Jan!
Here comes belated Eva. Sorry, it was a bussy week in the house.
I really appreciate your coloring. I watched videos from Andrew Gleeson.
But most of all I'm impressed from the yarnbombing. The sun in your pictures has such a mild light. The crocheted and knitted range of fishes and scarves are so lovely. And the colors too.
Thank you for these pictures.
