IF A PICTURE PAINTS A THOUSAND WORDS...
Thanks for all the fab comments last week, rightly so about Jill's gorgeous quilt, the photos don't do it justice! It's been a crazy busy week and so I don't have a huge amount of crafting to share but here goes....
I have done quite a lot of experimenting with my new paints which are awesome! Lots of tutorials and playing around.
These are from tutorials by Andrew Gleeson on Youtube and me just mucking around.
Andrew Gleeson has a lot of tutorials, he's a funny chap from the Midlands who has good tips on what tipples or snacks to have whilst painting, lol! Here are two I followed (tutorials not snacks!!)
He has a new sunflower tutorial up so that's what I'll be trying soon. These are very quick and easy to do, I'm enjoying them very much.
I've also been crocheting squares in the evening using a lot of the yarn that the wonderful Debbie sent me plus a few balls that my friend Helen passed on after her stash sort out:
There are 65 squares there - doesn't look like it - they are quick and easy to do and all the donated yarn tones nicely together. When I've done 84, I shall send them off to a lovely lady from The Gift of Warmth who is the sewer-upper, my least favourite part of any crochet/knitting project!!
And I always seem to post beautiful blue sky pics of the area but it wasn't like that when G and I did a litter pick a few days back:
It was definitely threatening but we were lucky and didn't get rained on! It still looks good though, I love our beaches best in the autumn/winter when you often have them to yourself and feel alive in the winds.
I have a huge task in sorting out my band's music library this week (with help) so am not sure how much crafting will be done. Maybe next week's pics will show a dust covered me, lol!

Gosh you've had a productive week certainly made up for your last couple of weeks unlike me. I love your paintings and perhaps I can see a future beach scene shortly or is that not your style. Ani
your watercolour paintings are just fabulous, what a talent you have. the crochet squares look great too, and much more productive than my evenings in front of the tv! I do love a stormy beach with big skies - glad you kept dry! Helen #2
My daughter follows Procreate tutorials for digital paintings and she has had a lot of success. As have you, by the look of it. I agree, finding the right teacher is key. I might look him up. My watercolour work is still pretty basic. But I’m trying.
Off to knit in the garden today (fingers crossed) so Happy Woyww!

After my brother in law died, my sister in law had a roomfull of sheet music - he was in a jazz band - she boxed it all up and took it round to the bandleader's house! He was very surprised at just how much there was! We still laugh about it today . . . .
Like all filing and recording, the end job is worth it all.

Beautiful watercolours, Jan. Those glass vases are stunning. I always think the task of the watercolourist is to capture light and you have done that so well. I love the colours of your blanket squares too.
Great stormy beach photos,too. Enjoy your band music sort out. It will be good to get back to regular playing

Loving the various paintings. Can I ask where your new paints are from - they look lovely and effective. Good luck with your music sort out- I remember looking after the music for the G&S society - that was bad enough for just the singers, but with the different instrumental parts it must be a real challenge. Oh Jan - what part of 'nothing to show' do you not understand? You have lots to share with us and craftwise you have been very busy. The watercolours are absolutely beautiful, and I see you have been painting a figure as well as those beautiful flowers. You certainly have talent! These would look wonderful framed up - why not try some of them at the RNLI shop? That is if you can bear to part with them.
Fab crochet and only 19 to go for your grand total ready for sewing - guess you will start on another 84 after that.

Hello lovely!! Thanks for your super early visit. Seeing your paints reminds me I got a set of altenew pans for Christmas and they still aren't opened. Ditto the brushos. I really don't know what I have been doing this year. You've probably said before but what are the squares for? The colours are lovely. Great beach photo, am missing the seaside but we should get to the Norfolk coast in September. Wales is very high on my list especially after seeing the beautiful photos you post but the drive puts me off as OH doesn't and the distance seems a bit daunting. Lovely watercolour paintings - you're getting so good at this, Jan! So soft and delicate! I would love your beaches as well - especially when they are deserted! You're so lucky to live next to them! Oh your water colours are delightful, and yes I agree a beach in the Autumn/Winter is best except for the dogs in my case!

Well, you call it playing because you’re having fun, but your water colour painting is really ace, you’ve really got it. Very much looking forward to being introduced to your brushes by name…..! Hope the skies over the beach aren’t so moody this week, and I hope you aren’t stirring up too much dust in the glorified cupboard!

Jan....LOVE your headliner tribute to "Bread!" That was probably one of my favorite albums as a teen!! I knew every word of every song!! And......on that note, your "experiments" are GORGEOUS!! You really have a knack for it! So, so pretty! And I love Andrew Gleeson's style of watercolor. Loose is definitely more my style, but there is just something about the way it looks that speaks to me as well! You have really have captured that style!! I always love your seaside photos. It is just stunning where you live and I can imagine long walks to be something I would do often!! Beautiful watercolours, Jan, and I'm glad you are enjoying your new paints. What beautiful seaside pictures. Thank you for your visit - yes, it was quite a week. My hubby is absolutely fine again, thank goodness. I agree with you - there is something really satisfying about watching the laminated piece come out of the machine and the finish is fabulous, and I can see that it could become addictive! Laminating queen lol! I am thrilled with my dividers, made of cheap printer card which is amazingly strengthened by the laminating.

I really love all your painting, I tried it myself but gave up as no good so back to the cards and knitting and a spot of crocheting. I think its a good idea that someone else sews them together I hate that as well.
what a lovey place to go and clean up it would be a pleasure in a place like that.
