 IT'S ASTOUNDING, TIME IS FLEETING,

MADNESS TAKES ITS TOLL....

Another seven days gone in the blink of an eye and though I've been busy, not that much crafting has happened. So, in the immortal words of Nessa, 'What's occurring?'

Photograph sorting for one thing, there's a lot so it's taking time to retrieve, cull and put into new albums:

I'm spending a lot of time at the dining room table, it's a good light to work in. The strange white stand is to hold the iPad for zoom calls, it was a Christmas prezzy and has proved very useful!

I've also been doing a bit more watercolour painting and found tutorials by Nianiani on Youtube, I really love the illustrative style:
You sketch with pencil first, then outline with micron pens then watercolour over the top...I really enjoyed doing these and learned a lot!
Then I had a go at watercolour doodles following CeeCee Creations on Youtube again:

I enjoyed painting these cos they were quick to do - the metallic paints came out again (though you can't really tell) and highlighted with Posca pens.

And that's it for this week, short and sweet. Shaz Silverwolf is really quite poorly at the moment, Doug has posted again, click here if you want to read the blog and send good wishes.

I wanted to finish with a cheery photo and here's a pic of a cheeky robin that G is entering into a competition for his camera club this week. It made me smile!

Keep safe and well everyone, sending you all lots of love and virtual hugs xxxx

your water colouring is just beautiful, Jan! I was keeping updated on FB in the night with Doug's updates (don't usually check my phone if I wake, but last night I had to) It is such awful news, we all hope she pulls through. Love G's photo of the robin. Helen #2

Love the watercolours. Yes, I do like that style and it suits you or you suit it - whichever way - it's right. I really do like it, really!
Gosh how do you get your tongue around that tutor's name?
Take care

Oh glad you mentioned a couple of watercolour artists that inspires you. I have a set of paints, keep trying, but am not very good at all with anything other than a wash of colour. I have loved seeing yours every week. The robin is quite sweet - I saw a photo of one with a PINK breast. Not sure I believe it is not a Photoshop deal but oh it was stunning.

Happy WOYWW!

Fabulous watercolours Jan, I love both the pages but I would definitely hang the second one on the wall - I absolutely love it and would snap it up if I saw it somewhere like Etsy! The robin is adorable and looks like a winner to me - your hubby takes superb photos doesn't he.
Hope you have a good week,

When I did my HND textile design course the plant painting was the first task we did. I remember at the age of 45 thinking what am I doing here with all these kids. I nearly left. I’m so glad I didn’t . You took me right back in time there Jan.
I’m going to investigate that iPad stand, I might get one for my zoom Pilates class. I think it’s more that I need to wear my glasses than anything else haha.
I’m enjoying your progress with your painting.
Take care

Love your paintings, one budding artist in the making. I do miss your materials though. Although I have never met any of you in the flesh, (Zoom meeting not counted) I still feel I know most of you and we all stand together to send our prayers to Shaz and Doug. ANi #16

Wonderful watercolour paintings, Jan! Looks like you've found your second calling - the first one being fabrics, of course! I have tons of photos as well from when my son was a baby and a toddler - after that we stopped getting them printed, so they're just all digital. People don't realise how much work goes into sorting these things. I even used to get photo books printed, but selecting, editing and arranging them is a very daunting task! All worth it though! Good luck to G with the competition! It's a lovely photo - robins are so sweet and inquisitive little creatures. We always think of Granny (my late mother-in-law) when we see one - robins were her favourites. Take care xx zsuzsa #24

I like your phone stand, Jan. It sure beats Monty Don! Your watercolours are stunning - they'd make fab card toppers. And He's photo of the robin is a winner. Thinking of Shaz and Doug with you. Hugs, Elizabeth x #31

A lovely post as always, Jan. Your watercolour paintings are just gorgeous... I am an avid follower of CeeCeeCreations too - love her style. I've done a few along the same lines. I love her use of gold. Hope the photo sorting is going well.

Thank you for visiting. Funny how the kitties have different personalities, isn't it! My hubby is quite likely to forget that he isn't allowed in that room when the time comes, so I am definitely going to have to lock the door - I just hope I don't lose the key! (Hang it round my neck on a bit of string I think!)

Happy WOYWW,

Told you that the watercolours are amazing didn’t I? Love ‘em...specially the little ones. My sissy believes very strongly that Robins are a visitation from someone you’ve lost. I don’t, but love to see them anyway, this is a gorgeous shot isn’t it. You’re going to end up missing having things to sort out at this rate!!

Oh Nessa, that's totally done me in as I can do a wicked Welsh accent right! Mother always hated my Welsh accent as a kid and wouldn't talk to me. I used to put it on real strong, well I was 9yrs when she took me there, what did she expect!!! Oooooo lovely flowers, although I'd run a mile from the lilies when they open as the scent is too much for me. Great stand, lifting your device up for calls is so much better than peering down (I use my PC mostly so I don't have that problem but I do have a desk stand for my tablet). I've still not got my water colours out again and those circle ones look doable even for me!
Can't believe there are no fabrics for me to gawk at this week!!! I love them so much I asked DH (Dear Husband) for some fat quarter bundles for my birthday. Hopefully I'll be able to show them off next week... Thanks for the visit BJ#18

Update on here in Victoria – we are in a snap lockdown again – hopefully only for a few days – but 5k limit, no visitors or gatherings, only leave the house for the 4 special reasons, only essential shops open…
