ALL KINDS OF EVERYTHING REMIND ME OF YOU....

Do you find that the time is whooshing past? It was going quickly before the lockdown but now it seems to have speeded up. We do have a daily routine, are doing jobs, having solo time etc etc but no sooner am I getting up in the morning than it's time to go back to bed again! Weird.

There has been some crafting done this week but this post is going to be a pick n mix again:
There has been a bit of bunting making....

I've tried to post something every day on Neet's #Cheers on FB, sharing things to be happy about. These buttons made me smile!

But my ribbons didn't! What a tip - I still haven't sorted them out either...tut tut....

Betty was feeling a bit frivolous....naughty girl, she's such a bad example to everyone...

The top two shelves of the bookcase in the JanCave is filled with things that mean a lot. The canvas and big letter J are both from Julia, the little silver cup is one that my dad won for football, the wooden mushroom was a present years ago and I found the little teapot thimble in my mum's sewing box after she passed away.
Pan left a bit...
There's a little sewn card from Twiglet, the chimney sweep I made for a WI competition, the beach huts canvas was made by Lisa Mellor, our lovely WOYWWer, the cup and saucer with the Welsh ladies on are from Mum's possessions, I dug the horseshoe up in my garden in Wiltshire and the Piggy Bank was a gift from my friend Isabel when I helped her clear out her house before moving. An eclectic mix huh?

Shelf 2 comes next week, bet you can hardly bear the anticipation!!

And finally, Rhys and I escaped for our one permitted walk from the house yesterday, luckily we can get to here:
It really does bring it home how lucky we are.

Keep smiling you lovely crafters even though we are living in such peculiar times. Sending you a big old hug.

Loving the tour of the shelves. I envy your beach.. I've been very bad at taking exercise - all streets and houses here, and working from home I tend to go straight through and then have dinner and slump! Loving the glamourous Betty. She is just fab. Helen #??

Morning Jan. Gorgeous view of your beach - and what great fun shelves - lots to remind you of your friends there. Betty is indeed feeling frivolous - but why not?
Take care. God bless.

What a gorgeous location within walking distance of your home Jan. I haven't been going out at all except to post a letter or pick up medication. I look forward to the tour of shelf 2 if it is anything as interesting as shelf 1. Stay safe and happy WOYWW. Sarah #?

I want to isolate with you! What a lovely walk you had it must have felt wonderful to have that fresh sea air blowing in your face. I just get around my garden, thankful that it is big though and over the next few weeks I will see changes no doubt. I am thankful for the birds, they keep me smiling when I see them especially the bluke tits bobbing along when in flight mode.
love your shelves, and adore Charlie Chaplin. What a lot of lovely memories you are sharing and what joy you are bringing with your Facebook #Cheers. I just wish more would join in and flood FB with happy crafting but baby steps, it might grow.
So nice to see Betty.
Hugs and thanks

Oh what little treasures on your shelf Jan - each with a little memory that makes them special - and who doesn't love a robin! I watched Darcey on the tv this morning and I've decided to try the Silver Swans ballet for my exercise - just need to find my tutu!!! xxx Jo

Bore da Jan, I am so envious of your morning walk venue, I miss the sea.
I love that piggy bank, does it have any contents?
Ah, ribbons, the best I have managed is to sort into colours and stuff into zip lock bags, but they still need ironing before use.
Bless you for sharing and keep sane

Aw, name bunting! It’s been a while, how fun! You know how slowly i walk compared to you, I will take a photo of how far I can get from the house before I have to turn around to make it back in the allotted time. Although the last few days I’ve made do with gardening as my exercise because you dont have to time that! Still dont like it, but even I feel an urge for fresh air now and then. So love that you can get down to the harbour for a good stomp about, and that I know roughly where you are when you talk about it. I know you sometimes miss the rolling Wiltshire downs and plains, but hey, I miss the sea! I’m surprised you’ve kept the canvas and the J...you dont have to you know! I’m off to Tesco to do 3 lists and a bit for us. I may need gin by lunchtime! Xxxxxx

You are so lucky having such beautiful scenery so close to you, the New Forest is closed to us unfortunately. I must admit to feeling slightly stressed at your ribbon box - I really feel the need to get stuck in and sort it for you!
I'm loving Betty, and of course your little treasures - it's great having a nosey around the Jan Cave!
Take care and stay safe,

Morning Jan
It's weird how the days seem to have speeded up doesn't it? I was thinking much the same but think that may be because I was out at work everyday and now I'm home and spending the days doing what I want to do and not what I have to do.
Feeling very honoured to be featured on your shelves still and envious that you can walk on the beach each day, although we are lucky to be able to get into the countryside one street away. I do so love the sea though.
Laughed out load at naughty Betty. Hilarious.
Enjoy your week and stay safe

What a lovely cheery post Jan. I feel it's important to have some sort of routine each day...the Joe Wicks workout yesterday has really stiffened me up today so it may be tomorrow before I can move enough to do it again....but I will :-)
My sewing room is filled with fabrics this morning so I'm as happy as a pig in s***....and I don't have to tidy them away anytime soon :-)
Stay safe and keep busy my friend.
Hugs,
Annie x

We are not going out at all ( only back garden and that is small) . Hubby did think about getting up really early ( or late) and going for a walk - we live in a small town . So far we have been excising in the living room and going up and down the stairs - a walk to the sea sounds so lovely . Take care - Keep safe Soojay #21

Ohhh that was so exciting having a look at your shelf of treasures and thank you for including the history snippets. Otherwise it just becomes things on a shelf. Now wrt the vacuum bag check that the box or bag itself state it is HEAP they are they only ones that will filter out particles. Lots of youtube clips which is like falling down a rabbit hole and now you can see why I get so little done in a day. Stay safe.... thank goodness for woyww.

Hiya Jan, those buttons do make me smile! Love the spotty ones, I have quite a stash of spotty ribbon, not sure what the spotty attraction is, lol. Ribbons do take a bit of keeping under control, don't they? Makes you wonder what they get up to when we're not looking,! Smiling at the piggy bank, love it. Love and hugs to you all, stay safe, Shaz #7 XxXxXx

Hi Jan, thanks for stopping by! Love your pics, they always look so professional! Ribbons - now there's a challenge if ever there was one. I have 3 drawers full and though I attempt to keep it tidy it just degenerates into mayhem every time I need a rummage. So good luck with that!! I am certainly not finding time is going slowly even though we don't really have a routine. Though I think we are getting a little disconnected - I realised the other day I had taken my 'Thursday' medication on Sunday. (I have one of those little pots otherwise I would forget). Losing the plot big time!! But never bored. Stay well, stay safe, Happy WOYWW Cindy #20

Oh you have some interesting things on your shelves! You are so lucky to be able to walk to the beach. I used to love walking along the shore, my mobility scooter just can't cope! Last year my husband found somewhere he could drive the car almost right on the beach, it was a real treat. I think it is hard to keep ribbon tidy, every now and then I go through mine and sort them out x Angela # 22

Good Morning to you, A great grouping of colorful photos. I too love your buttons. But my favorite is the scene from your outdoors. My dream was to retire by water ! Now I am just happy to have SUNSHINE and No Wind. 2 days of brightness and long walks made my week. Today rain but I've lots to finish up and get in the mail. Thankful I have this group and my hobbies. Blessings to you and yours. Stay Safe.

Hi Jan, Yes I was thinking that the other day that holy cow who sped the time clock up so fast. I think it is because, I measure time in completed projects and I have a bunch of unfinished ones in stages so, it makes it feel like whoosh nothing was done. I love your beach and that you all are allowed to go out to it. the buttons made me smile too hang in there, ~Stacy #29

Oh Jan, what a lovely upbeat and colourful post to cheer everyone up! I so agree with you about the passage of time. Every five minutes or so (or so it seems!) I find myself going to bed - night time again so soon? Where is the time flying to? It's April already!! I love your pretty bunting, and the pretty boxes of buttons, and your sweet display shelves full of treasures and memories.

I am so glad we've got the Internet so we can all keep in touch, and boost each other up. I am enjoying my continuing days at home (which I am quite used to) with the added bonus of seeing so much more of my hubby!

Keep smiling, and keep safe and well.
Happy WOYWW,

I am loving all the little goodies on your shelf! Also what a lovely place to walk around! I would go there every day I am afraid! We were having lovely weather but yesterday and today have been ugly. Cold again with snow showers in the mountains! So hoping for warm temps again soon. I've been inside and trying to behave myself but since I retired several years ago I have self isolated a lot! This is nothing new for me except the fear of being too close to others. Have a lovely rest of the week and stay well!

Hi Jan, nice tour round your shelves! It would take me weeks to make my shelves presentable enough to give a guided tour ... but we might have weeks ahead of us, so who knows. Lucky you, having such a nice place to walk too. We have a canal nearby, and some woods, but not as nice as a beach. Do you want to adopt me?? The hours in a day are certainly flying by, but that's because I keep forgetting to stop working - I get so engrossed I forget the time. Have a lovely week and stay safe and well, Heather xx #33

Thanks for your visit, Jan - I am just having fun with the digital manipulations! There isn't really any particular end in view. I do agree about photographic competitions etc. I used to have a digital photography mag when I first got my original digital camera and most of the "star" pics in their gallery were heavily manipulated, and I often thought I'd like to see some "au naturel." I think a lot of people do it just because they can!

Buttons and ribbons how do they get so messed up? Wish I could walk on the beach but our beach and prom has been all roped off for weeks now and we are only allowed out with the dog within 50 mtrs of your home. Still I can see the sea and it is still there and waiting. Oooh Betty. Ani#1

Thank you for the shelves-tour Jan, LOVE to see the items and the stories that come with all the thingies... shelves with stories are the best! I love your eclectic shelf. I also like the view you have, but then I would as I live on West Shore, Llandudno, on the far side of the Great Orme. Llandudno seems to have made international news with our Kashmir goats roaming about the deserted town. x

Hi Jan
Just me again!!!
Yes Freya is home. We went and dragged her home the Sunday before the lockdown. I was getting very stressed about her staying at Uni although it's so peaceful and out on it's own I don't think she was at any greater risk but I needed her home. She loves it at Uni so was sad to leave but is happy to be home now and facetimes all her friends all the time. They've got loads of work to do too so that'll keep her occupied.
Have you got your boys at home?
Hugs Lisa x

Hello, my friend! I am making my rounds today. Yesterday we were having some trees removed from our property and I am so fascinated watching them work from my window.
You are so right about the time going by so fast. I feel the exact same way. One would think with more time on our hands, we would have such long days but it whizzes by in a flash.
I love seeing all of the buttons like that. My mom had a can she kept in her closet and I used go through them like treasures. As an adult she gave me that can and I can't tell you how much it meant to me. So buttons have a special place in my heart.
Ok, I am going to admit I am a little (lot) jealous of your beautiful place to walk. I have only walked around my property. I am sort of nervous about walking around.
I am glad you are well. Stay that way so we can meet up again next week!!
