MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

Here we are on the Big Day!  It's been a really busy month filled with lovely goings-on but I am going to have a good break for a few days. The tuba is packed away, the Christmas music is back in its folder and I am going to enjoy a couple of whiskies!!

I have tried to decorate my house elegantly but what can you do when your menfolk do this:

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas :-)

And this:
You can probably work out who did this!! Lol. It shall stay there for the rest of the festive season as it makes me laugh!

Hope you have a marvellous day - thank you for all the desky fun and crafty shenanigans this year. I'm looking forward to the programme featuring my band this evening. If you watch it, hope you'll see why I adore playing in a brass band xxxx

Merry Christmas to you all xxxx

Love the sense of humour that your family bring to your life and you share with us.
Not sure if we can get the programme on tv up here as reception is not good but will try and if not there is always catch up when we get home.
Have a wonderful day, a wonderful festive period with your lovely family. Can imagine it is full of laughter in the Appleton House.
Hugs, (raising a glass of gin later to you although I must admit the whisky last night went down well)

Merry Christmas Jan. I love the 'alternative' Christmas decor! No desk for me this week as my craf room is also my guest room. Love and hugs, Heather xx

Merry Christmas, Jan. I absolutely love the alternative star. While it's up there you can't wash the dishes. Perhaps you could leave the tree up till Easter, at the very least! Hugs, Elizabeth x #17

I really did LOL (Laugh Out Loud - very loud!) when I saw those photos, Jan!!! Totally brilliant. There's nothing like a sprout to be at the centre of things - and at the end of January perhaps we will have to stop calling them Brussels sprouts and call them Brexit sprouts instead lol!! I did roasted sprouts with cranberries and maple syrup as usual - delicious, except they were a bit small and got a bit overdone. Very tasty though! Recipe will probably follow next week.

Despite rubber gloves being found in inappropriate places, I hope you have had a very happy day. We were very quiet, just the 2 of us, but I was very busy in the kitchen and then this evening had to make a pudding to take with us tomorrow when we are with my hubby's family for Boxing Day. I'm kitchened out now... Just watched Call the Midwife together and shed a few tears!

Thank you for your lovely comment - so glad you like my latest Celtic Zentangle. It was great fun to do. I must find my George Bain book on Celtic art and develop some more traditional designs.

Happy WOYWW and hugs,
Shoshi x #15

It's good to see the men folk joining in with the seasonal prep, although like you i'm not sure how helpful they truly are.. bless them. Hope you had a super day yesterday? Today I get chance to put my feet up after I finish cleaning up after everyone :/ Happy Woyww and look forward to doing it all again in 2020.

My intentions really were good yesterday. I planned to visit all the WOYWWers at some point between our visits but it just didn't happen so here I am, a day late. I am determined to call on each and every one of you to wish you a wonderful Festive time, thank you for all the love and friendship over the last year and to say I really hope we can enjoy many more WOYWW over the next year.
Much love and the biggest hugs,

Now I know why you were said to offer sprouts on Julia's post.
Happy Christmas to you too Jan, although belatedly, love the creative fun there and yes it does make me chuckle esp the red glove! 😉😁😊
Thanks for sharing, and may God bless you.

Dear Jan!
Also belated, (but I wrote "real" post to you), thanks for wishing us Christmas and thanks for the funny pictures. The cabbage sprouts look nice in the tied wreath. Smile!
Lots of hugs,
