I GET AROUND TO SINGING ABOUT
THAT GANG OF GIN I'M IN...

Hello lovely crafters - another mad whirlwind around the globe meeting up at Stamping Ground, where desks of all sorts are on display.

I was very late replying to comments last week as I'd been out for the whole day on my WI Trip....more of which later!

There's been quite a bit of crafting this week!

Oh it's so lovely to have my space back in action - just popping in for five minutes now and then (which always turns into half an hour, but that's another story!!) I've been making a few more small items for the RNLI....

Some more little purses - I may have to keep that hungry caterpillar fabric one on the right, it's just so cute!

...and some dog bandannas out of this very cute fabric which was given to me.....

plus these beauties.....

by my mate Helen! She is an old friend from Phoenix Brass band, who I used to play with in Wiltshire - she and hubby Simon and kids Samuel and Chloe came to stay for a couple of days. We managed to get a couple of hours crafting in when the weather was a bit inclement - Helen did a great job cutting out while I sewed. It was wonderful to catch up again as we hadn't seem each other for 18 months.

The kids had been crafting too and had made me these out of Hama beads:

Aren't they fab? They're in pride of place on the JanCave bookshelves now :-D

And what about the WI Trip I alluded to earlier? Well, it was classed as an 'Educational' trip and the first port of call was the Penderyn distillery tour...cough...

This makes me smile! It was 11.30am - well, it would have been rude not to have tried out some of the produce, don't you think?!

The rowdies at the back of the bus! Lol...I may have bought some whisky and gin.....after this we sobered up with some lunch and then went on the Brecon canal...there may have been some singing!! It was a fun day but I needed a rest after it....can't take the pace anymore......lol

Have a great week everybody, hope you enjoy your crafting!

Hi Jan. Nice purses and bandanas. No wait, skip to the important stuff ... I thought the WI was all flower arranging and baking cakes!! What am I missing out on - might need to check this out. Looks like a great time was had by all of you, yes it would be rude not to partake in a taste sampling (or two). Have a lovely week Heather x #10

So where are the photos of the canal bit of the trip? Noted down now that you only showed distillery part of the trip - that tells me a lot about you!!! (Mainly that you are my kinda gal - and enjoy a good laugh with friends).
Joking apart, you look to have had a good day out and if a distillery tour is in the morning well, you have to drink. Mind you I would have been asleep on the coach afterwards.
Gorgeous fabric used in your makes and I love that Scottie one - perfect for bandanas.
How nice to have your friend, Helen, staying with you for a few days, great to catch up with old friends and share the gossip. Love the Hama bead makes.
Neet (and thank you for visiting me whilst I was getting on with my face painting which happily is ready for publishing today) xx

Ha, needing a lie down after a day trip..must have been the early drinking.Actually no, it would have been the fresh canal air wouldn’t it! Love the little purses, frightened by how unforgiving the blue dog material would be for a wonky cutter!

What a happy post, Jan! Your posts always make me smile and make me feel better - your lovely bright room and all those fabby fabrics and the gorgeous things you make out of them. I still treasure the little pincushion you made for me. I love the little purses, and I like the fabric with the anchors on it - so appropriate with the maritime theme, in aid of RNLI. It must have been lovely to have your friend staying, and to do some crafting together. You girls guzzling the booze made me laugh - rowdies at the back of the bus lol lol!! I think your life sounds a riot - really fun!

Thank you for your visit. The butterflies are very quick and easy to do, like very frilly granny squares. They get more frilly with each round, but when you fold them in half, they miraculously turn into butterflies and are flat! I made a mistake with one, and discovered I'd made a smaller one with a slightly different shape, so I'm making some more of those now, for variety. As for the leak in my felt box, my felting rolling pin had gone all black, but it seems to have recovered after being soaked in a bucket with bleach for a few days. No harm done, and I'm glad I caught it before it had gone on too long.

Happy belated WOYWW,
