POUR ANOTHER GIN, LOVE
AND GO EASY ON THE TONIC...

It's been another full week here...the decorators have been in doing some wallpapering (Mr LLJ and I are pretty good at most DIY but wallpapering is not one of our skills!) and we've done lots of walking as the weather has been so glorious.

But I have been back at the sewing machine too - yay!
I made some personalised bunting for the new grand-daughter of friends in band - it's been a while since I last cut out lots of triangles and I enjoyed doing it again. While the embellishments were out I had a bit of a tidy up as they hadn't survived the move all that well...
See Shaz, almost as you left them last year :-D
I'm a bit down on the button count however...any excuse to go craft shopping eh?! Lol.

I also had a massive sort out of my yarn stash and gave quite a lot of odds and sods to my mate Helen (she of the Knitted Boob fame) I do love a good sort, it's very cathartic.

Two pics to finish off with: this one was taken over Easter, it's me and Son No 1 on our beach...we found this huge bit of driftwood and tried to stand it up. Needless to say, it stayed vertical for all of 5 seconds but it was enough time to take a pic!
And the other was taken at a place in Llandeilo called the Ginhaus, where they had a gazillion different types of gin. This little scene caught my eye:

I thought of quite a few people when I saw this!! I won't name and shame but I'd be at the top of the list :-D

Enough randomness from me for this week...honestly, you lot have the patience of a saint!

Love the Barbie and ken ad! Brill - and all in the name of Gin!
Fab photo of the driftwood, that is one for the album surely. In fact it might make a nice picture for the wall some time.
Glad to see the sewing is getting back on track - now where did I put that fabric?
Hugs, Neet 4 xx

I think we've seen that same bit of driftwood too! Ken and Barbie made me laugh although I'm not a lover myself! You get a great sense of satisfaction after a good clear up don't you. I'm saving myself for the summer hols.

Love driftwood.Mum used it with her floral art, so we were always looking for it.Later Mum used to bleach branches if she didn't have any and a show was coming up.Oh yes, a good sort out is very calming and feels so darned good to see cupboards and boxes that are neat and tidy.My button stash is right down too. I am presently using up fabric to make little dolls form a children's charity.
I haven't had gin for about 45 years.I just don't seem to want or be offered it! I used to get a tad giggly with gin!
Have a great rest of week!

Hi Jan, Glad you have been sewing. I love buttons and ribbons.

That bit of driftwood would look great with fairy lights on it.

Did you sample the Gin?

Love your pretty bunting and had to laugh at the driftwood, it looks like a tree growing out of the beach.

Glad you are getting everything sorted. You don't need any excuses for craft shopping! Amazing driftwood; would look incredible on display in a double height hallway and could be decorated at Easter with eggs as well as Christmas! Sarah #19

Lovely piece of driftwood and looks like a great time spent with family. Your comment about cutting up triangles made me look at the pretty bunting framing my window. Can't wait to see your newly papered walls.

Morning Jan. Fantastic little scene in the Ginhaus! Great piece of driftwood, glorious how the sea has bleached it - what do you reckon? A small birch tree? Love the pictures of your stash - yes, a sort is great! Leaves room for more - or shouldn't I be encouraging you???
Take care. God bless.

Just saw your comment on my blog. Foam projects for work, I have to add double sided tape to each piece. I always have small art craft kits for children, keeps them busy when I am talking to parents :)

Happy WOYWW. I love a random post! That driftwood was amazing. I must admit I would have tried to fit it in the car or camper van to bring it home - would look great in the garden. Ali x #10

Well how bizarre, just wait till you see my desk... and please go back and get that drift wood and I'll pick it up in my trailer when I come over in October... just too good to not use... sewing machines... my Flocking Pfaff (FP) has yet again decided to lock on the upper tension - in the middle of me making a quilt that is on a deadline, so I had to pick up a spare whilst the FP is in for repair, I got a fab deal on a new toyota 'jeans' machine, laugh - you would have wet yourself, my pfaff does literally everything, the little Toyota does a lovely straight stitch, but that's about it... I had forgotten how to use a 'manual' machine and spent long periods just staring at it waiting for it to do stuff it can't do.. Niall thought I was having a stroke or some kind of petite mal fit. - the foaming and dribbling at the mouth probably didn't help///.... hey ho at least I am still on time with the patch working bits... dxxx#29

It's funny, I find a nice G&T so refreshing on a summer's day - but I always forget to order one when I'm out! Must remember. . .I love that driftwood - wouldn't it look great in the garden - you could do so much with it! What a pretty bunting! Thanks for sharing, Lindart #32

How fun to spend time with children. We won't be able to visit any of ours this year, bummer. And the Barbie/Ken display made me laugh. Great start to your bunting. And I used Baby Oil on a blending stump to blend my colored pencils, it's like Gamsol but way cheaper. Thanks for the visit and have a great week!

What a charming bunting. A very thoughtful gift idea for somebody with a new baby. Your driftwood moment, had it been my own moment, would have ended up as some project or other. Lolz. Your bit of beach looks lovely.

Oh yummy embellishments, wish I could grab some for my latest embroidery LOL. Nice to see some bunting in the making too. I still have mine up in the lounge, think it will stay up forever now :)
Yep I am a bit miffed with the "blip" not heavy but feel horrid all the same no idea how long it will last either, I can still venture out and play badminton and do the shopping so that is a plus despite feeling horrid. I'm doing some volunteering with a mental health charity and start up badminton sessions, it's fun getting newbies interested in the sport. Mum was beside herself this morning on the phone on receiving the embroidery as it was a complete surprise, don't know how I managed to keep it from her for a whole month. Thanks for the visit earlier BJ#26

Love your bunting gives me an idea of Christmas bunting hope you don't mind. I think I mastered the dog bandana after a few trial ones, people said you are the expert. Love that driftwood I would have been tempted to bring it home and make a garden feature. Agree your buttons are low any excuse I still have my mothers button box and love rummaging around in it. ooooooh pretty bunting, always love pretty bunting .. made 100m of the stuff for our wedding and it still comes out whenever I can find an excuse :o) Love that tableau you found, gives me an idea .... Sorry to be so late visiting, hope you're having a lovely sunshiney weekend! Annie C #21

Hi Jan, apologies for being so late - I'm still in the middle of the big clean up. It's all the fiddly sort out jobs that need doing now - similar to the ones you have been working on. I love those stripey buttons - I spotted them right away :) The driftwood is fabulous. We don't see anything like that on our beach - I think the bay is too sheltered. The bunting is gorgeous. Hope you've had a great weekend and hope to see you Wednesday, or thereabouts! Hugs, elizabeth x #33
