HALLELUJAH, HALLELUJAH....

LOOK!! Don't rub your eyes in disbelief.....they are not deceiving you!

Ladies and Gentlemen, there is craft on LLJ's table.

I repeat, there is craft on LLJ's.....yeah, you get the picture.

I had a good riffle through my fat quarters box to find some fabrics for Lynda's doggy bandanna that she wants for Isla, her young dog. Even more amazingly, I found the cardboard template....

It may be battered but it's seen some action, I can tell you!

And it still works! Woohoo :-D I haven't forgotten how to do it either (always a relief)  I'll show the finished bandannas when Lynda's had them.

This is the yarn on my table ready to be put away:
A belated Mother's Day prezzy from Son No 1! He had great fun in the shop picking colours that he thought would appeal. He was right, I love them all and will have fun making something with them. The little pot is full of beads and pretty things - you could buy a pot and fill it with whatever you liked apparently. I knew his early years training in how to fill a Woolworth's Pick and Mix pot to maximise the sweetie quotient would stand him in good stead :-)  We had a lovely couple of days with him and DiL-to-be before they had to return for work...Son no 2 is still here so I can spoil him for a couple more weeks!

Talking about being spoilt, this arrived from my great friend Lynne - I had no idea it was coming and was completely bowled over by it. Lynne sent an explanation with it as well:
OMG, I absolutely love it! I can take things off to make up a brooch or whatever I want as all the elements have lobster claw findings. There is so much meaning to each item - I have to admit it made me cry. What a beautiful and unique way to sum up our long friendship. I know Lynne reads this blog so would like to thank her publicly for this - there will be deskers all around the world who'll admire this, not only for the contents but the reasons behind it.  I think she's onto something here, don't you?

I am a lucky girl.

Have a great week everyone and hopefully there's be a little more desk action  to share next week xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

That is a fabulous gift from your friend - not only beautiful but thoughtful and meaningful too. Love the yarns your son chose - what a great eye for colour he has, I'm drooling over the pink, purple and yellow one. I've just finished a jigsaw by John Powell who uses the most vibrant colours in his paintings of flowers and gardens and I'm in a very vibrant frame of mind - I don't know if that will translate into arty crafty stuff, but I'm yearning for that wool! Lovely to see you sewing again and turning out some couture dressed doggies.
Have a great week,
Hugs, Diana xx #6

Follow that!!! What a splendid gift, no not splendid, marvellous. OK Splendidly Marvellously Fabulous!
Love it, and to have such a lot of things on all with meaning and tied up in a long friendship - can imagine any recipient would cry at a gift like that from a true friend.
Almost forgot, you are crafting - good for you, nice to see you back in the sewing mood - now I need to find that fabric I sorted for that tote you were going to make me. Ahem, now where is it?
Sugru is a moldable medium that sets kind of hard but still remains flexible. Used it on our iPad chargers where they kept parting from the rubber after Julia first mentioned it.
Does the gin house do afternoon teas? Sounds good - hic!

Happy WOYWW. Crafty stuff on your desk! Love that yarn - such bright colours. Gin place in Llandeilo (which happens to be hubby's favourite town, and he keeps talking about moving there!). If it can be on a day that hubby can drive me there (and then disappear off to ride a bike), then I would love to join in. Could be a Carmarthenshire-WOYWW meet up! There used to be a very nice yarn shop there too - but haven't been for ages. Ali x #5

Hiya Jan, oh my, that bracelet is amazing. What a beautiful way to mark a friendship. Not surprised you were in tears. Liking the sound of that Ginhause! Right up my street, lol. I never cease to be amazed how excited I get when I find the things I want without too much difficulty, I see I'm not alone, lol. All is well here, still waiting for MRI date, should be in the next couple of weeks. Love and hugs to you all, Shaz XxXx

Yippee! Your sewing again, Jan - oh happy day :) And that is going to be one very fashionable wee doggie. So pleased you found your template so quickly after moving - knowing my luck it would have been at the bottom of the very last box I looked in :( Love the red/white heart fat quarter. You have trained your son well. Those balls of yarn are gorgeous - lovely mix of colours - and I don't think he could have got one more bead in the pot. The chatelaine is just fabulous and a wonderfully thoughtful keepsake to treasure. I love that your friend has thought very carefully about every charm - everything is very personal to you. Have a very happy week in your sewing room. Hugs, Elizabeth x #23

Jan, you are too kind. I didn't want to make you cry! I love that No 1 son bought you wool for Mother's day. I like the blue and green one best. I can just imagine him filling up a pick n' mix bag!

The gifts are all lovely but the thought that went into each one is what makes you realise how much your family and friends know and love you. It made me shed a wee tear as well! Catriona

Lots of yummys. Yes, appears as if Son #1 learned well. Can I borrow him? LOL Showed hubby the pictures of the kites. They look like a cross between a hawk and a Golden Eagle that we have here in the states. And we're both in love with the dragon.

Wow, that ball of yarn (is it wool? I'm assuming, maybe not?) in the bright lolly pink, purple and yellow is almost exactly like one I bought just yesterday! I'll try and remember to post a pic (next woyww) so you can see! I'm going to combine it with black :)
Good to see your sewing is back in action again :)
