I SEE YOUR TRUE COLOURS SHINING THROUGH...

I didn't join in last week because there was nothing to share with you craftwise and I couldn't get away with random pics....

...so what's changed?  Well nothing much!

I'm still doing much of my reading, crafting and general day to day stuff at my kitchen table!

I'm using up a spare ball of variegated yarn to make a preemie blanket for the local hospital (as organised by the Knit & Natter group)  I quite like the yarn but it seems to have taken AGES! Think I'll crochet the next one using the lavender yarn that Wipso gave me when she was down..it'll have to be a close stitch as they don't like lacy blankets - the kiddlywinks get their fingers trapped in the holes.  That funky card is from Neet...here's a close up:

It's funky huh?! I love the bright colours which are even more day-glo in reality...thanks Neet, we love it!

The other things to share are these gorgeous table mats and coasters which were a house warming present from my brother and SiL. It's a print of a hare from an old book which has been transferred to tiles made of Travertine marble - they're really heavy and I LOVE them!  I like the way the coasters come in pairs of a front and back...if ever you're at my house, don't take offence if you get a back end to put your brew on!!

The other work table is this:
We've done so much painting, we should have taken out shares in Dulux!  Between decorating, being in Band contests and other stuff, the weeks are just zipping past.

A couple of pics to finish with which were taken on 'my' beach. The tide was far out and exposed the wreck which has been there for over a hundred years.  It was one of those atmospheric silvery grey days....there's any amount of interesting things growing on the timbers..barnacles, seaweed that looks like hair etc

It lends itself to some weird pics!
You can either see 3 Nessy monsters or standing stones or whatever takes your fancy. Great pic Mr LLJ!

Thanks for dropping by and putting up with my craftless state...I'm not promising any different for next week!!

I missed you last week! glad it was just having nothing to share that caused your absence. I love the card from Neet, the coasters are just amazing, but that beach!! How you've got so much decorating done, I don't know! Helen #??

Morning Jan. Great craft table! Knitted blankets do take a lot longer than crochet ones, don't they?! But it's gorgeous yarn, and will look great when finished. Those coasters are brilliant, and I promise not to be offended!! Sounds like you really are cooking up a storm of activity between the two of you - more so than my decorating efforts - which are non-existent!
Love the beach pics Mr LLJ!!!
Take care dear girl. God bless.

Isn't it funny how we a interpret things differently. To me the beach photos almost conjure up a moon-scape to me. Fab atmospheric photography - thanks G!
Glad you got the card, I was only wondering the other day had i sent it or not - old age really is a bummer at times
Love the hare mats and how clever to make the coasters like that rather than a tiny picture of a full hare on each one.
Lovely knitting, that is crafting so you have things to show us, we miss you when you don't post.
Hugs, Neet 8 xx

Wow what a bright and airy room love it. How do you manage to get the variegated knitting to look like that mine always seems to end up in lines. The tiles are beautiful and there are the best cuts of meat on the rear end! Great photography Mr LLJ I can see those pictures being put to use somewhere. Anickoana #7

Happy WOYWW. That blanket looks really soft and lightweight - perfect for purpose. Loving the card from Neet. We all need some bright colour in our lives. Fantastic beach photos. That is the sort of beach that I like to walk on. In Pembrokeshire they are either very small coves or the bigger beaches which are usually busy with tourists/dog walkers. Ali x #10

Your beach photos are great and you've made me realise i need to get outside more and get walking.
Have a great week Jan.

Hi Jan, Love the beach photos.

The little blanket is so pretty.

The hare mats and coasters are fab. I love that you might get a coaster with just the butt of a hare:) Also love the bowl on your table.

Loving the colourful card.

Morning Jan, this is my third attempt at making a comment, I just hope it sticks this time.
I love those table mats, what an amazing house warming present, and I know what you mean about knitting growing so slowly, but that blanket is gorgeous, colours.

Lovely pressies! I really like Neet's card and Lisa's canvas is gorgeous too (from two weeks ago - I must have missed it!) Looks like you're settling in very well and MK2 will be up and running before you know it! It's a nice thought that a real baby will be using that blankie soon! Enjoyed your fun photos. Loving Neet's bright colored card too. Guessing I need some brightness today. I've been a collector of rabbits for years so I find your gift adorable. And anything from a brother is precious. I also miss being around the water areas, it always seem so sorrel and calming. Nature is always a fun adventure. I also like that pretty blue basket on your table. So unusual. Have a fun week Jan, enjoy the projects.

What a lovely kitchen/dining area you have - I love the blue glass collection on the windowsill and how it all comes together with the beautiful blue bowl on the table - just lovely! The photos of the wreck are hauntingly beautiful and would look so lovely framed on a wall - I would also have one as a screen saver although that sounds like quite a lowly job for such a stunning photo!
Have a great week,
Hugs,

Hi Jan, you kitchen looks lovely with the light flooding in and a perfect place to knit - though what's going on in the garden could be distracting :) The card from Neet is gorgeous and I love the table mats and coasters - the perfect gift for you. The photos of the seashore, especially the wreck, are special too. Your beach is wonderful. Hope you are getting nearer to settling in to the Craft Cave Mk2. Hugs, Elizabeth x #30

Lovely photos of the beach. One of my favourite subjects. I grew up near the coast so the seaside played a huge part in my childhood. I still live near a coast of a sort - near to Lake Michigan but there are no lovely tides to see.

Love the card Neet made you. It's so bright and cheerful. I hope you're settling in your new house nicely.

The beach photos are really lovely Jan - talented camera man there - and yes I can see all sorts in the last pic - what a whopper!!! I really won't mind if I get a back end coaster - it would be a joy to share a hare with you! All well here - hope it's the same with you x Jo

I'd love to sit at your kitchen table, so light and airy, super card and well done with the blanket. Ah the beach, how simply idyllic.
As for my embroidery I started it on Monday 6th March on just a scrap of old table cloth with no design just the challenge of "a year of stitches". No idea when it will be finished but I have done a bit (or a lot) each day since it started and I expect it will be finished when it is finished!!! Thanks for visiting me BJ#29

It's always great to see what you are up to Jan, crafty or not. I spotted those stunning coasters in your top photo, what a perfect gift. Love your blue bowl too, what a great shape.
Mmmm I could put my new camera to good use on your lovely beach, mind you, Mr LLJ has done a stunning job with those photos, worthy of being framed. I think I could spend hours photographing that wreck and the sea.
Have a good painty week, don't work too hard.

I am saving and flogging myself so we can have travertine in all the bathrooms...showers etc... I also want to drive to italy to the quarry so save euros (?!?)...i am totally realistic in my renovation ambitions Mr G does not daily hang his head, shake it gently and smile at the mad witch he lives with..., Actually i'd probably settle for the coasters at the moment they are gorgeous and entirely sufficient to keep a bod happy a very long time whilst waiting for walls and ceilings and floors and stairs....! Before you know it you will have lived there years and it will be a wistful fleeting thought that you wish you might have forever still to go...

Great photos and lovely coasters etc. Hope you get the wee blanket finished up soon - yes, crocheting would be much faster.
