SO YOU HOLD ME CLOSE TO YOUR HEART
RED IN THE GREY...

You'd better sit down...I don't want you to have a shock.

There's been a whole heap of crafting going on this week - woohoo!!  It's the thought of trying to get some stuff done for a charity Christmas event that has spurred me into action. The poor old sewing machine doesn't know what's hit it!
The fabric from last week has been transformed into flags...this is the ONLY sort of ironing I enjoy :-D

I made four lots of these. I like the red and grey combo a lot - very Scandi!

Then I took the left over scraps and joined them in strips. then cut these into squares and joined them together in a mini patchwork, backed them with red felt and zigzag topstitched them to make some Christmas coasters...

All tied up with some festive ribbon from my stash.  And that's not all!

I'd seen some great ideas for felt ornaments on Pinterest and decided that I need to have a go - a bit of a challenge in fact. All the above came from the Range and was stupidly cheap. Look at that rainbowy gorgeousnessness *squee*

Now it's cooled down a bit, the conservatory is more pleasant to work in - great light for old eyes! I freehanded the pattern...

...and had a go at making this little bird, I need to add a ribbon hanger, stuff it and complete the stab stitching. I'm quite pleased with it!  I've been inspired by all the gorgeous embroidery that Sandy Leigh Johnson's been doing. There will hopefully be more on this theme to show you - I've got rather a lot of embroidery floss to use up!!!

Have a great week everyone xxx

Hello Jan. I am in love with the matching Christmas banner and coasters. You are super talented with that machine of yours. And I agree I last pulled out my iron only to straighten out a wrinkled pice of ribbon is how much I love doing that, but my DH now buys work shirts that are iron free. YIPPY. That is a great idea useing felt to make Christmas decorations.....if time profits for me maybe I will finally finish mine I have tucked back into storage last year. Have a wonderful day. Hi Jan my lovely - what fabulous little birds and what gorgeous coaters. I agree the red and grey looks fab together - given me another idea now for my crayoning in. How fantastic it looks when you see it in the banner.
Hope you are having a good week in that light and airy conservatory. Ideal when it is not hot and sunny for stitchers.
Fingers crossed for the northern branch on Saturday - we have some Southern invaders coming which is good. I just cannot miss it.

Ahh, so good to see Lunch Lady Jan, and agree with you on the colour combos!!! Yummo, and ditto on the rainbow loveliness, so eye appealing!! Clever use of snippets up into casters, you could share those in the snippets playground with Miss Di, you know!! Unique plus!!
Felt birdees, how clever is that!
Love it, happy WOYWW, and thanks so much for your lovely comment earlier too. Shaz in Oz.x 13

Gorgeous rainbow deliciousness - made some of those birdies a while back, so cute. I made red hearts with white snowflake embroidered on and red/white gingham ribbon loops to hang too. But hurting my finger has put a stop on what I wasn't even doing at the moment anyways. So glad to see such loveliness on your post. BJ#33

You have indeed got a impressive amount of embroidery floss to use up, Jan, but doesn't it look so lovely spread out like that! There seems to be lots of production lines of bunting featuring on folks desks at the moment but then there is only about 3 months left. I think I better get a move on too :) Love the Scandi fabric - very on trend :) Take care and have a wonderful week. Hugs, Elizabeth x #38
