DAISY, DAISY, GIVE ME YOUR ANSWER DO......

Thanks for all your fab comments last week, lovely girls, they made me feel an awful lot better. I had a kidney infection and was feeling really rubbish so your kind words were very cheering :-)

I didn't move from the sofa for two days (and THAT, Julia will tell you, is very unusual!) and needed something to do. So I sewed all the granny squares together for the blanket I've been making for the Crochet for Kidneys (ironic, huh?) charity that I support. The daisy motifs were fun to do and the effect is very pleasing....

It's cheerful, isn't it? I hope that the dialysis recipient enjoys the bright colours.

The very clear and helpful tutorial came from the Colour and Cream blog, where there are loads of free tutorials to follow!  I highly recommend it if you need a fix of happy crochet :-)
Talk about from the sublime to the ridiculous!  I was a bit crocheted out and fancied doing some knitting to use up some of my stash as featured last week...cough. So I made up this Minion hat for a baby to finish off a tiny scrap of bright blue!  And then I had to crochet the Eye, but needs must!  It just needs a black pompom as the finishing touch.  I've knitted another variegated pink hat for a teenager but haven't taken a pic of that. Both are to send off for an outreach project featured on the UK Handknitting website's charity directory.

That was over the weekend; as Monday was very rainy, I managed to get some sewing done...for me! Yay! Remember that blue fabric I got a while back?
I am making a slightly larger zipped craft tote so that I can carry around some crochet/knitting etc when I'm off somewhere. The dark spot is actually navy, it's a better combo than appears in this pic.
Nearly done, just topstitching to make it look neater :-)  Honestly, our camera is amazing at coping with low light levels cos it was as black as Hades in my craft room with all the rain going on outside!
I'm not so sure about that navy spot now but it was the best match I had and I wasn't going to buy any more fabric!!  It'll do.......

And this pic made me happy too....
One of my bags made it all the way to Denmark!  That's a first for me :-)  I hope it gives its new Danish owner many happy years of service!

Hope you gals have had a good week.....keeeeeeep crafting :-)

Glad to hear you are feeling better.... Forget antibiotics.... It's the log luvin that works. The navy spot is a good contrast if you wanted to bling it up you could add one of your lovely blimey bag charms ... Just a thought.
And the blanket us fab ... As usual

Good that you are feeling better.
Wow! That blanket looks really nice. I will have a look at that site.
The bag is lovely, and yes, the navy polka dot goes very well with the other fabric. Congratulations on going international.
Thank you for letting me peep over your shoulder.

I've seen it for real and the navy spot is a blinding good choice if you ask me. SO glad you're feeling more like yourself..being ill is horrid. Love the Danish picture, how fun of the owner to 'flag it up' for us!

So glad you are feeling better this week - those infections really are ghastly aren't they. I love the blanket and I know that whoever uses it will be cheered up immensely by it. I don't know what a minion hat is, so I'm not sure what the eye is for, but then I've just been asked by my 9 year old nephew to crochet an R2D2 beanie hat for him (and I'm not a Starwars fan so didn't know what that was either!) - he found a Starwars activity book in the library - I thought it meant that it was the kids that did the activites, but obviously I was wrong! Fab bags too - I love the spotty fabric - it works perfectly - you always get it spot-on! Hope you have a better week this week,
Diana x

Hiya Jan, sorry you've felt crap too! Kidney infections can be so awful- I remember a friend at work told me it was so painful, she'd rather give birth than have one of those again! Bigs hugs coming back at you ((XOX)). Love the bag, the dotty blue definitely does it, and that Minion Hat! Awesome. Fabulously cheerful blanket, how could anyone not love it to bits? So now you need to be LLJ'sInternational Fabric Frenzy, lol. I am surprised how fast the time has gone, can't believe its been 5 weeks since the surgery! Hoping the next 5 go as fast, and as easily. Lots of Love , Shaz xxx

Glad to hear that you're feeling better now, and yes, rather ironic about the beautiful blanket, no doubt it gave you some comfort too when you were stitching it together. I love the bag you've made for yourself and I like the spots with it. Your makes are already international, have you forgotten about my needle roll and notions bag lol! Ooh and the bunting too! Seems I'm a bit of a fan, lol!! Enjoy the rest of the week.

Soul sister, I'm glad you're feeling better! Just looking at that amazing blanket made my day--I think it's the prettiest, happiest thing I've ever seen. Now, you're going to laugh, but I have to tell you that when I was a little girl in music class in the third grade, we were singing the song Bicycle Built for Two, and I kept singing it with a purposeful British accent, not to make fun of the accent but because I thought the song sounded so much better that way! I was duly scolded and told to "sing it properly." But in my view, I was singing it properly! It's only right that I now have a beautiful UK soul sister who also knows the song! Stay on that couch as long as you need to. Big hug!! Sandy Leigh #34 (P.S. It's been ridiculously rainy here too! Just now seeing the sun after a week of rain.)

Still want you to make me a bag for mum sorry I haven't got back to you. Something natureish would be ideal, (love the denmark material) and not too fussed about colour really. Not much help am I? So sorry to hear how poorly you've been, LLJ, and I hope you are now feeling a lot better. These things can really lay you out, can't they. What fabulous crochet! A great idea, and I am sure the dialysis person who receives this will love it! The little hat is great, too, and all your beautiful bags.

Thank you for your lovely comment - I agree about the craft companies. I source stuff from elsewhere if I can do it cheaper, or better yet, free!! I've got a huge piece of roofing felt, which, while not actual Tyvek, behaves like it - the builder who did up our new house gave it to me. I use decorator's crackle glaze, and Polyfilla instead of artists' moulding paste... Cheapskate Shoshi lol!!

So glad you like my latest card. The friend I made it for loved it.

Hello cutie pie! The daisy blanket is absolutely beautiful! I'm sure it will cheer up whoever is lucky enough to receive it. It is ironic that you were suffering from a kidney infection whilst finishing it up.

Today is the first time I've turned on my computer all week. It's been nice - and also lonely. I'm planning to put my condo on the market so I've been working on clearing things out. OMG, what a job THAT is! My place is about 980 square feet so there's not many hiding spots...... yikes.
