IT'S UP TO US TO BE THE CHANGE
AND EVEN THOUGH WE ALL CAN STILL DO MORE
THERE'S SO MUCH TO BE THANKFUL FOR.
Firstly, a massive apology to the lovely ladies who left comments on my blog last week... for various reasons, I didn't return the honour with most of you. I'm so sorry, there was a lot on my plate and it just didn't happen. I promise I'll do better this week.
Secondly, I'm just so happy that Julia's home :-)
Consequently there's not much to share this week:
I'm deciding which fabric to make a zipped tote out of for a present - for someone who doesn't 'do' pretty, lol!!
I've dragged a few bits out of the box and am staring at them with no clue whatsoever...sigh. I quite fancy using the stripes, possibly.
What I will tell you about, though, is this wool I found in Hobbycraft when I was looking for a cheapish acrylic yarn with which to finish that rainbow blanket I've been crocheting. It's Hobbycraft's own brand, with some of the proceeds going to the Women's Institute and it's brilliant! It's the nicest feeling acrylic I've ever worked with - not only that, but 100 grams cost £2, PLUS Hobbycraft had a 3 for 2 offer, so it worked out incredibly cheap. The range of colours isn't huge so I hope they extend it. That plum colour is delicious - it's going to be a baby jacket :-)
Finally, I've had some more happy mail - ATCs from Darnell and Elizabeth W, both of which are so funky! And a gorgeous buttons and bunting card from Jackie - they're all on my pin board where I can admire them. Thanks, lovely gals :-)
So, short (for me!) and sweet - have a great week!!

Whichever fabrics you choose it will be so gorgeous, they always are! funny how sometimes the cheapest yarn can be a favourite! Love those colours!
Gorgeous cards too, how lovely to have them on display where you can enjoy them!
Have a great week, Deb xx
Good morning Jan
Great news Julia is on the mend, I feel for her as I had gall stones myself the other year!
Pleased the card arrived safe!

Gosh, your desk does look all clean but I suppose you have to have a clean desk for fabric whereas I can get away with a mucky mess when painting etc. I think I would go with the spots - but then I am a bit polka dot crazy. Or am I just crazy.
Thanks for stepping in last week, it was so appreciated.
Hugs, Neet xx 26
I am kind of partial to the striped and red with white dots. I love my cushion covers, place mats, and runner made from them so of course I would be partial to them!!! Glad to hear Julia is on the mend. Have a great week. Vickie #19
I always feel at home in your fabricy space Jan....really can't wait to make a new fabricy space to play in in a new bungalow [but the fiasco hasn't finished yet!!].
Hugs,

ah Lunch lady Jan,
well done on your hoard of wool and also atc's!!!

And YSSSS! we are all glad Julia is back and okay.. pray she is resting that's all, her post did not sound very resty to me!!

Yep, snagged some f that yarn myself and I agree -- it's so smooth and lush feeling as it trails thru your fingers to the hook. I do hope they bring out more colours in the future. So much nicer than the "value" range and not that much more - esp. in a 3 for 2 sale :)
Happy WOYWW!

Hello Jan. Guessed you were up to your eyes in it! I like the spotty fabric - red one or stripes!!! Happy WOYWW Anne x #37
Hey, Jan. Don't need to apologise for last week - we all know how busy you were keeping up with all the comments and requests about Julia. You did good - as they say!!
Gorgeous fabrics out again today... no idea which I would choose - possibly the leaf design? Great ATCs - it's so lovely they are still arriving, isn't it?
Take care of yourself.

Hope life is a bit quieter for you this week, Jan. That yarn looks lovely. I am still mastering crochet, it baffles me somewhat and I get it all wrong but persevere I will, lol.
Love the fabric.
Hugs Lisax #39
Thanks for giving us information about Julia last week, that was important, return visits were far less important.
You always have such super fabrics on your desk, I'm sure inspiration will kick in soon
. Bless you

Hope you have time to get crafty this week Jan. The wool is an amazing bargain - I love the purple. Look out for Mr Postie sometime this week. x Jo
I vote for the stripes n spots nearest the camera!
The fabric & wool look good on you desk . happy woyww jill#9
Ooh, lovely fabrics - I'm drawn to the red dots and stripes, it's so summery. I love Hobbycraft, they have some good deals don't they - have you thought about asking them to extend their colour range - I'm a great fan of suggestion cards in stores, but maybe that's a middle age thing!
Have a great week.

Hi soul sister! I too love that plum colored yarn--what a steal you got on that!! I think that red polka dot fabric would make a super cute tote too. I am so glad our friend Julia is okay. I'm afraid at our age that gall bladder surgery is looming over all of us!! I have a sudden intolerance to garlic, and my sister thinks it's my gall badder! Ugh! So anyhoo...I'm working on some ATCs--very late in the game--and hoping for some great tomato crops from my garden so that I can actually do some canning this summer. Oh I love summer. Hugs dearest!! Don't feel bad that you didn't get to return visit...this is suppose to be fun...not work. I return visits when time allows. Life is busy...enjoy the best you can. Be well Carole #65
Go for the stripe/ red spot combo it will make a great bag. I hope you managed to have a bit of a rest in Wales.... See much to do logo
Janet @17
I like the striped fabric, too! And the ATCs are so cute! Happy WOYWW!

I'm going to be the odd one out- I love the postcards and brown polka dots! Thanks for the seed saving Jan,I forgot all about them when we left! The storage rack was one that Doug built for my rubber stamps, back in the days I could actually count how many I had, lol. Its not like me to store anything so organised as those inkpads, its just that I tend to use them in colour groups, so its easier to just grab a pile. The ATC's are great, we've all had some gorgeous ones, haven't we? Have a lovely week Jan, hugs Shaz xx
Since I don't "do pretty" really either; I'd opt for the brown w/postcards...plus it would go with everything...Have fun with the wool too! Have a great week.
All lovely fabrics but the postcards and blue polka dots are my favourites! Still kicking myself for not being quicker off the mark and getting the bag I liked at the crop- maybe next year! You've reminded me too.....must get my pinboard up! Chris 47 x
If I was choosing the fabric I'd go for a combo of spots and stripes, but that's just me! Any of them would look fab though. blimey that wool really is a bargain, it looks lovely quality and the colours are gorgeous, especially the purply colour, will make a really cool baby jacket. Happy WOYWW :o) Annie C #53
Well, as I nabbed a tote at crop with the leaves, I am sure you'll guess what my choice would be.... hope you have a good week, and yes it's fabulous that Julia is home recovering. Helen 11
My eye fell on the fabric with the leaves...does that help? I am not even joining in this week...Wednesday got away from me today. Doing a bit of snooping though. Bella
That's a great array of fabrics, LLJ, all of which would be great for an unpretty tote! I love the leaves and the text and your new yarn looks faffy!! Lovely ATCs, too! Thanks for coming to see me! Happy WOYWW and I hope your plate isn't too overfull this week! Hugs, DJK #14
very glad to hear Julia is on the mend, great array of fabrics and that plum will make a lovely baby jacket I am sure. Your mail box looks very exciting too.
Beautiful fabrics, all of them, so whatever you choose will turn out wonderful. And such fun mail, too!
Happy woyww!

Now you're showing me wool ooooh sigh ... ohohoh just have a great week (love the plum too) Cheers RobynO#21
Yes what super news about Julia! I have not posted my received ATCS yet uh oh!!! I like the fabric with calligraphy!! My type of fabric! :^) patsy
Can't wait to see the finished bag ... It will be amazing even if she doesn't do pretty. Your fabric combo are always gorgeous.
Sandra de @ 84 because I forgot to post on wednesday:(
Love love love the grey fabric with white leaves! That is perfect for a not "pretty" but still pretty :) thanks for sharing! Marissa #83
Gorgeous materials there...and I love the ATCs you received. Thanks for sharing. Happy belated WOYWW. Caro x (#41)
Hi Jan, I think we are all happy to have Julia back again :)
I love all the fabric and can see some lovely combinations there. Of course, if it was down to me, I'd be going for the dotty fabrics - love polka-dots - but the stripe is so summery and beach looking, very on trend. Wouldn't like to be you making that choice!!!
The yarn is gorgeous too and a plum coloured baby jacket will be so cute.
Glad you like the card and ATC :) Hope your plate is a little less full this week and that you have a lovely weekend. Hugs, Elizabeth x #69
Love that leaf fabric and the one next to it, too. Great ATCs. I missed seeing everyone last week, but I was gone, too. #82
It was lovely to see you too ! Glad Julia is safely back ! Enjoy your week ! Ali xxx
The knitting yarn looks really nice and I especially love the plum one.
I must say I love the spotty fabrics. Have a great week and happy crafting, Angela x #45
I think any of those combos would be fantastic but especially the red and stripe for someone who doesn't "do" pretty :-)
I think everyone understands how busy you must of been, I thank you for letting us all know about Julia it must of been heart wrenching for you too, I know how close you both are. Now is postage wasn't so expensive I would ship you crates of wool that belonged to my departed mother and you would be knitting or crocheting kittens honestly if you only knew what she left behind. OMG I just can't give it away to anyone but you I would do that for, if postage wasn't so expensive that is. If I ever travel to visit I will bring suitcases of the wool LOL. Pleased to see you got some more happy mail. Now try and take it easy this week and give Julia a hug from Yoda, Dede and I and tell Julia to give you a hug from us. Anyway must go big weekend with the OB's and the footy and had the day today playing with Dede and no photos.
Hugs Eliza & Yoda 85
Thank you for your visit last week, sorry I didn't get round to replying! I just love looking at your fabric stash! Karen
Ooo, I love the leaf print fabric! Gorgeous!
Thanks for dropping by and just to let you know ... a Xyron is a brand that makes sticky machines that glue things ... Julia has the little one on her desk often ... a pink X shaped thingy! You've probably seen it. I have the same one on my desk :) And I have borrowed a much larger version from a friend who has never used it!
