WOYWW 238 - FESTIVE FABRIC FRENZY FROLICS!

Happy Christmas everyone!  Just a quick post from me today....

I've been making a prezzy for someone this past week, so am cheating with a two day old shot of my desk!

I broke into my recent ribbon stash to make some handles for a little craft caddy....that was brave :-)

The finished item...quite pleased with it actually!

I'll finish with a pic of my lovely tree!

Thank you for all your kind words, fun, sharing and support throughout this year. May 2014 bring happiness, love, health, laughter and crafting joy to all Deskers, wherever you are :-)

HAVE YOURSELF A MERRY LITTLE CHRISTMAS,
LET YOUR HEART BE LIGHT,
FROM NOW ON YOUR TROUBLES WILL BE OUT OF SIGHT.....

I haven't done a huge amount of crafting this week..been too busy with other things but this is how it looked yesterday evening. While all the Christmas stuff is out, I've been making a couple of vintagey padded hearts to give as presents.  Looking at this has made me realise that a blooming good sort out is needed soon!

Playing around with the pretty bits...

Ribbony goodness....yum....

And a bountiful box of beautiful buttons and bells...how Christmassy is that??
I was up in Swindon the other day, killing time while G3 took his Driving Theory Test (he passed, atta boy!!) and I went into this Aladdin's Cave of sewing and knitting. Their ribbon selection was fantastic and I went a little mad....well, it's cheaper to buy a lot while I was there, rather than paying for fuel/parking another time. Great how we can rationalise these splurges, eh girls... ;-)  Look at the buttony one!  Ooooh, it's lush!

And I also bought a metre of these linen/cotton fabric....well, it would have been churlish not to....cough...

The main reason why I haven't made much this week is this:

Being part of a brass band means this is a busy time of year..the engagement list is PACKED! Here we are on Marlborough High St, busking to raise funds for the band.  We raised a lot of cash, helped lift the Christmas spirit for the shoppers and had fun too. AND it didn't rain!  The mad schedule continues with 6 more engagements this week.

Just as well I have a lot of PUFF! That's me with the big Oompah, back left.

Enjoy your week in the run up to Christmas... xx

SLEIGH BELLS RING, ARE YOU LISTENING?
IN THE LANE, SNOW IS GLISTENING,
A BEAUTIFUL SIGHT, WE'RE HAPPY TONIGHT,
WALKING IN A WINTER WONDERLAND.

I have enjoyed the last three weeks of WOYWW numbers...
* Week 234 (consecutive numbers)
* Week 235 (2+3=5)
* Week 236 (2x3=6)
Plus, today's date is 11.12.13. !!
See, told you I was Maths Mad....well, mad anyway.......  :-)

I've got so much to show you this week, it's going to be photo heavy/text light!

I was asked to make some different Christmas bunting, boy, did I enjoy doing it!

I used up LOADS of odds and ends :-)

Which meant that I allowed myself to buy some more lace and ribbon from Janet Fairythought's store in Winchester...what a shame, eh??

My 'crafting while watching TV' has been knitting beanies for a homeless charity...just look at the gorgeous colours in this James C Brett yarn....it's chunky, so runs up really quickly.

Another James C Brett chunky being crocheted into an infinity cowl which is destined to be a prezzy...

Some fat quarters for a project I have in mind to do this week.
We took a stroll by the Kennet and Avon Canal on Mr LLJ's birthday.

And finally, I know our beloved Mrs Dunnit's fame has spread far and wide but am impressed that a booze company has seen her potential. You're definitely a 'Superior' model, mate...... ;-)

Have a great week everyone!

I LIKE COFFEE, I LIKE TEA,
I LIKE THE JAVA JIVE AND IT LIKES ME....

Hello there, lovely Deskers!
Chaos reigns as usual! I'm sewing two tote bags for friends...

I'm making the two side by side if that makes sense...here's a pile of handles.

Topstitching the contrast spotty fabric...

I adore this dusky pink/chocolate spot combo....

You may remember this shot from back in August...gorgeous Drops cottons in yummy colours....

Well, this is what they got turned into...a runner for our bed. I'm really pleased with how it turned out. It even echoes the colours in the duvet cover (all planned, of course.......cough.....)

Ron approves too :-)

And this beauty turned up yesterday...the most gorgeous steampunk/Belle Epoque artwork from SandraDe in Australia. Apparently it came by sea mail, which I think sounds quite romantic!  It is gorgeous, Sandra, thank you so much! And the tape ribbon has been carefully saved for future use...I hope you approve!!

*Happy Dance*
