I CAN SEE CLEARLY NOW.....
Sorry, couldn't resist that title today! I'm doing really well after the cataract surgery last Thursday, in fact I have to keep touching wood as I can't quite believe that it's worked so quickly and well. I'm typing this on the PC without any reading glasses, everything is sharp whereas before it was all one big blur. The team at the hospital were wonderful and I was seeing ok after a few hours. I've been very very careful about following the after care rules and had a treat yesterday of going to my hairdresser for a wash and quick blow dry...all with the aid of my new favourite bit of kit:
My 3M safety glasses, £2.99 off Amazon - they have been invaluable for keeping my eyes protected. My friend reckons I need to bling them up with a bit of diamante lol!
As it's been very windy I've not been out much but I have felt like crafting so I have been in the JanCave:
My plan is to work my way through all the strips and make loads of quilt squares. I have everything in reach so I don't have to bend over (a big no no) - it's mindless crafting really but that, together with listening to audio books, is helping me a lot. I'm not very good at sitting still.....
I do ten blocks at a time and just chain piece them through the machine...
And then trim them up which is the magic process as far as I'm concerned!
I have been knitting too, I found this pattern for a chocolate Orange cover and gave it a go:
Cute huh?! It's King Cole tinsel yarn which has the odd fleck of sparkly in it and it's so easy to make, all in one piece. The pattern has two ears but I prefer it without. I think this might be popular, I'm trying it in a white and silver too.
Hope you've had a great week, thanks to everyone who has messaged wishing me well and especially Twiglet and Wipso for the beautiful flowers, they're gorgeous xxxxx
Have a good week!

I’m delighted to see you’ve posted and how well you’re recovering. I bet a quick hair do was like a reward! Not bending isn’t as easy as you think, I bet you didn’t realise how many times a day you bend in normal reaching and looking.
I love the strips, specially the ironed and trimmed squares, so neat and use-able! Keep going, those safety glasses look good on you. Xx
I managed to escape from the cabin but right now it looks worse than before even though I have given more stuff away! I am so pleased you're doing so well you must be really pleased. I love the hedgehog. Happy woyww, Angela x8x
So glad your op went well and I’m impressed you can read up close without readers.
Your hedgehog is so cute and I’m glad you’re enjoying your strip quilting.
Hugs

Hello Jan, I'm delighted that you are recovering so well from the ops and you 'can see clearly now'. Having had poor eyesight all my life, I can't even begin to imagine what that's like! I'm impressed with your quilting technique. Very efficient. And the hedgehog is gorgeous. That yarn makes perfect 'spikes'. Keep on following that advice and take it easy while you can. Happy WOYWW. Hugs, Elizabeth xx #10
You seem to be recovering fantastically well , I wasn't sure you'd be here this week , but sewing too !! Big hugs. Helen #1
Great to hear you are recovering well, hopefully completely healed very quickly.
That hedgehog is just awesome, such a citie, I bet they are popular.
Not posting this week, just back from Wales and had to be up and out early this morning - nothing to show!! Have a good week, love n hugs Cindyxx
So glad it went well, I didn’t know you needed safety glasses afterwards! Is that to stop dust? No Internet at the site, but I am in Tesco using theirs, hugs Angela #14
Oh I definitely need some hedgehog tinsel yarn! He is so cute. The quilt squares are fab. I too would find doing nothing challenging but a bit of gentle crafting is surely fine. No cartwheels or handstands this week then🤣
Wonderful to be able to see well!
I love the darling hedgehog you made.
Enjoy the week…
Oh defo bling them up - so pleased the surgery has had such a marked improvement so quickly how wonderful. Mindless crafting sounds just the ticket. Oh the trimming up sounds right down my alley too. Fallen in love with your hedgehog, super flowers too. Hugs Bj#2
Glad to hear your cataract surgery was successful. The fabric piecing you're working on is beautiful. A dear parishioner of mine that passed away tragically was a quilter, and was planning on making me a quilted stole like that. That knitted critter is so cute. Happy WOYWW!
Dear Jan! I'm so happy to read about your recovery! So quick!
Don't be to busy.....take care. The safety glasses are helpful.
I love the hedgehog. So lovely and cute! I wish you a wonderful new week. Eva from Austria.
Happy far too hot, very late WOYWW
Woo hoo! Great to hear you are recovering so quickly. I won't do to have LLJ out of commission. The chain piecing is fab, and OMG I love that adorable hedgehog! Lovely flowers too - well done Twiglet & Wipso.
Stay cool and see you again tomorrow LOL!
