EVERYBODY WANTS TO BE A CAT....
Hi there all you lovely Deskers and other friends who drop by, hope you've had a good week! It's been another busy one, goodness knows how we had time to work.... Neet messaged a few of us yesterday to say she's back in hospital, poor gal, it hasn't been an easy couple of months for her. Big Hugs to you if you're reading this Neet, hope you get better really soon xx
I've been flitting between projects, that's the only word for it, can't settle to any one thing. Butterfly Brain or what?
I'm going between knitting more small animals, hence the preponderance of rabbity brown in the basket, and crocheting blankets in that colourful chunky yarn. When I get bored with one thing, I switch to the other!
I've not done much sewing either, just cut out some more peg bags after selling a few at the last fair:
But my Sil has been doing sterling work with quilting:
She's recently made this amazing quilt for her craft room - it's a Bargello pattern...
..and she used the offcuts to make a backing fabric, genius! I've said it before, she has more patience and meticulousnessness than I'll ever have. It's a beautiful job done with great skill!
I meant to share this last week but forgot, I needed a Valentines Day card for G and drew this one in five minute flat:
G loved it, he's the slightly grizzled grey one on the left and I'm the fuller figured ginger on the right lolol!! It might make a good anniversary card too, I'll upcycle it!
And that's it, thanks for dropping by, I'll be visiting you all soon xxxxxxxx

Oh, poor Neet, what a dreadful time she's having. Your SIL's quilt is stunning, a real beauty. It must have taken hours. I love the cat Valentine card and you're right it would do well for anniversaries too. Happy WOYWW Helen #1
Your Sil's quilt is gorgeous...such a clever gal. I'm not sure I would have the patience for such a big quilt.
Hugs,

Aw that's s fab card Jan - might have taken me a lot longer to produce a little work of art like that! The quilt is stunning - I've never seen Bargello done in quilting - gorgeous colours. I seem to have had a busy week but no photos. I must do better. Might dash out and snap my tete a tete in the sunshine🤣🤣🤣x x Jo 🌈
Oh my but your card made me smile! You could print them and sell them in the stall. Really adorable. The quilt is amazing. I always toyed with doing a bargello, have done it in paper before, but that is stunning. Love the pieced backing too - such a fun way to do it! Happy mad-dash WOYWW!

Your cat card’s lovely, Jan and Gill’s quilt is stunning, especially since she used leftover pieces for the backing. I’ve found flitting between things better for me, despite crocheting against the clock for Christmas and Brian’s birthday I didn’t trigger shoulder pain as I have in previous years.
Happy WOYWW

I love the card, perhaps you can add something to it for every next occasion…a moon, a flower pot, you know what I mean?!! You might get a good few years out of it!! Your SIL has the patience and precision gene that I didn’t get, that quilt is just exquisite. Even the thought of preparing all those pieces makes me feel a bit giddy! Your box of rabbit body parts reminded me of a certain elephant I once started….🤣
Poor Neet, I am sorry to hear that, thanks for keeping us up to date.
I’ve always admired quilting. I did a few small pieces in my thirties but never went back to it - sewing is really not my thing! We have some really nice ones my mother made, she used old clothes etc so even if if the result wasn’t always perfect they were little pieces of history.
Knitting isn’t my thing either! Maybe I need to tie down my butterfly brain as well and work out what is my thing! Have a good week, love n hugs Cindyxx #11
Hi Mary Ann - I'mJan's SIL - Bargello is not as difficult as it might appear - see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DB8xz65xml8 - I pinned at intersections and the size did makes life interesting - but I do it in sections and use 'quilt as you go' techniques to join.
Your SIL’s quilt is beautiful, I like the pattern on the back too. I Am so sorry to hear Neet is back in hospital. Great kitty card. Hugs Angela #12
Dear Jan!
Great week! Sometimes I have Butterfly Brain too. I see the rabbity brown looking out of the basket. Sorry, that Neet is in hospital again. I send her good vibes. The Quilt from your SiL is so amazing! And the Valentines Day card is lovely cute!
Best wishes from Eva, Austria.
Glad you liked the watercolours. The bird silhouette one was actually oil pastels but she said I could do a similar one with watercolour so that's pending for my little sketch book too.
Well at least you have projects to flit between is what I say. Super amazing Sil quilt. Adore your cat drawings. Hugs Bj#8
Hi lovely lady, that is a gorgeous quilt. I think the ginger Cat only looks bigger because of the stripes Lol! I should think Neet is completely fed up by now poor thing. Wishing you a very happy and productive woyww. Hugs Angela x9x
What a stunning Bargello quilt and I like that the back is made from leftovers from the front. Love your card and it will be fun to keep using it for other occasions. Catriona
So sorry to hear about Neet Jan. Loving that valentine card and your SIL's quilt is amazing. Stay safe and Happy belated WOYWW. Sarah
