WITH THE WASSAILING BOWL WE'LL DRINK TO THEE!
Here we are then, the very last day of 2025, another year of desky sharing, fun and camaraderie over and a new one lies ahead. I wish you all good health, happiness and joyful times through 2026.
It's been an odd year for us with many best laid plans going AWOL, this continued when our son Owen couldn't make it home for Christmas, he's been extremely poorly with flu or Covid, so we jointly decided to postpone things. That's just the way this year has been!
I have been back in the Jancave after getting things back to normal:
It's been good to get back to some sewing! I had one metre of this funky sunflowers fabric in my stash so am making 1 folding tote, 4 glasses cases and 3 little zippy bags (and a partridge in a pear tree, la la la!)
This makes me happy!
I've also been trying out other knitting patterns and enjoyed making this little rabbit:
She stands about 7" high - the pattern was bought from Etsy and is the most verbose, fussiest set of instructions I've read recently. And I disagreed with the construction of quite a few parts so once again did my own thing, especially with the dress....why change the habits of a lifetime eh?? Lol xxx
G and I took down our decorations yesterday, I do like a fresh clean house to start a new year and I'm sorting through the Christmas cards to upcycle or recycle:
I enjoy doing this, upcycling into new cards or tags where possible.
And that it's for this week. I'd like to thank you all for your continuing friendship and support of my blog. Sending big hugs to you especially Neet, we're thinking of you lovely gal and missing you so much.
Happy New Year from me and my boys, lots of love, LLJ xxxx

Happy New Year Jan to you and G, wishing you health and happiness for 2026. My cards and decorations (such as they were this year) are still up, but I'll take them down at the weekend. Just getting ready for what looks like it will be a frosty Kew, judging by the cars outside... I do hope Neet is ok. Lots of love. Helen #2
A lovely post Jan. That sunflower fabric is gorgeous and you certainly made the .most of the metre. Your little rabbit is adorable and such neat knitting. I ordered yarn for the cardi to knit it for my friend's little granddaughter. Plus I was tempted of course to add a bit more to my yarn stash🤣 Happy New Year lovely friend - hugs to all x x Jo 🌈
I made the kids each a boy and girl buny when they were small, and that pattern looks a LOT like the one I used, but mine was Jean...Greenhow maybe? Forget her namr, and it might have been from a book or a freebie even. I'll have a look - her patterns are never fussy or confusing. She a cutie, but it kinda sucks the joy out when every stitch is a struggle. Hoping Owen is feeling better soon - we never stop worrying do we? Happy New Year's Eve WOYWW, and wishing you and yours a happy, healthy, joyous 2026!

I hope Owen feels better soon, poor lad. That sunflower fabric is so cheerful and your rabbit doll is beautiful, maybe even more so as you went off piste.
Wishing you and the boyz a happy and healthy new year,
Hugs

I love the bright cheery sunflowers. Really hope Owen is making a good recovery…so many nasty bugs around. Wishing you and your boys a very happy 2026 and hoping for lots of get togethers throughout the year.
Hugs,

Best Wishes to you and your family for 2026, Jan. I am also finishing the year sewing and then I need the table to set for tomorrow’s dinner with daughter and her husband. Catriona
Aw adore the bunny and yes the sunflower fabric is truly happiness inducing. I never really got any decorations up this year but we've been to a few garden centres this past week and bought a few so now actually have something on our little artificial tree which has just been lights and a fairy all month! I need to have a proper look at all the cards we got as I couldn't even get them out of the envelope when they arrived so left it all up to hubby. I'm in no hurry though. Super photo of the 3 of you. Happy WOYWW New Year - Hugs BJ#1
Hi Jan, we're nearly there for another new year and hope it's a good one with lots of smiles and inspiration. Sorry I'm late had a job to do that couldn't wait. Sorry to hear about Owen and hope he's better soon. I am hoping we hear something from Neet soon too, missing her. Love your sweet little rabbit and the fabric is amazing. Happy woyww, hugs Angela x8x

Dear Jan and family!
Lately - but from the bottom of my heart - wish you all a "Happy New Year" 2026 and all the best! Soon recovery for Owen. Fingers crossed!
I'm looking forward to a wonderful year of being invited to your blog, being far away friend and watching like a little mouse in the mouse hole in the Jan Cave what's going on crafting.
( I know, you don't have mice....).
Send you all a big hug. Eva from Austria.
