SUMMERTIME AND THE LIVING IS EASY..
Hi there lovely Deskers and welcome to another week of inspiration and camaraderie! Linking with other crafters around the world over at Sarah's Craft Shed.
I didn't enjoy the heat last week and I think we had slightly lower temps than the folks in England. On the plus side, we washed our winter duvet and it dried in two hours flat outside! It meant that I did retreat to the cool of the JanCave and got some cutting out and sewing done:
This is all that's left of 2 metres of 150cm wide fabric, not bad huh?
I got six bags, five glasses cases and four purses out of it...as I've said before, I'm generous with many things in life but not fabric, lol!!
I paired this lovely print with purple and lavender spotty cotton. It's slightly old fashioned I know but it's very pretty in reality.
I'd sold the last of the daffodil and hearts print at the last fair so ordered some more and couldn't resist the 'Klimt' sunflowers. That's a lovely cheery sight isn't it?
There are quite a few birthdays coming up and so I dragged all the card making paraphernalia out of the cupboard and set to:
I used up all sorts of paintings and bits and bobs I've done previously so it was a very satisfying session and made me realise that I need to get the paints out more often, it's so enjoyable and yet I never seem to spare the time, ridiculous really....
And that's it, short and sweet. Hope you're all keeping well and happy, see you on the desks later!

you are a magician with the way you get so much out of one piece of fabric! I love the new patterns, too... Glad you stayed cool in the JanCave, it was bit much here! Happy WOYWW Helen #3
Ooo don't we just love all those gorgeous fabrics. I would have to sit and look at them for a good while before I chopped it up. I love the purple spot combo. Glad you enjoyed your card making fun, I still have a couple of your water colour flower ones that I am hanging on to 😃 x x Jo 🌈
Yes Jan, you should get the paints out more often. Those cards you have done are beautiful . If you get pleasure from it as well, it's a win win !
Love the new fabrics, don't they look gorgeous lined up like that? And the purple spots is perfect with that sweet floral fabric.
Weather/Heat - we didn't get that up north. Sunday was the most horrendous rain and we had to travel on the motorway. Decided to pack up - waiting for the sun is not happening and so it's home time for us now.
Hugs, Neet 9 xx
You should paint more often, Jan, your cards are lovely. I do like the way your purple dotty fabric picks out the pansies, you’ve an excellent eye for colour.
I’m glad for a cooler week, too.

You cutting reminds me of The Traveling Salesman problem - the most efficient route to multiple locations, but for you it's the most cutting with the least waste. Call it The Jan Sews problem. LOVE the old vintage lookng fabric. and the dots are perfect. I agree with you on the heat. Ugh. Hope that was the worst of it but I doubt it. And *I need to make some cards too. Oh dear, very out of practice... Happy Knitting Day WOYWW

There are some beautiful fabrics around Jan, that’s why I find it hard to believe so many folk live there lives in dull black clothing

Love the purple polka dots coordinates with the floral so well. I've not had my watercolours out much lately either. Oh and I'm singing the song too, LOL. Yes WAY too hot here at 33 degrees C this coming weekend is similar too on man hope there is a breeze too. Hugs BJ#5
I really like the purple dots on that lovely floral...lol, we're all in our own vintage. Love the Klimt sunflowers too, you have a knack for choosing alright. No desk from me this morning, out again but now waiting... don't bother to visit when I do post, I don't seem to be getting the reciprocity equal! Bet your beaches were packed last week, have to say I loved every minute of it, didn't realise quite how hot it had got until it fell back to normal temps.
Dear Jan!
We have very hot days now in Austria too. Don't like it.
But I like the nice fabrics you show to us. The one with the hearts is so cute.
Oh yes! Please! Paint more often. I agree!
Eva from Austria.
Hi Jan, it's been way too hot here though it's a bit better today. I'm always impressed how you use the fabrics and the amount of things you make with them. Pleased you like my clouds. I don't really do videos but I'll try and do some instructions to show how I made the Masterboards though to be honest it is so easy if you have the right stencil though you could make your own so I'll show you that too. I'll try and do it for next week. Sending happy woyww hugs, Angela x11x
Love the purple combination. Does it matter which way the grain goes when you are cutting out your pieces? I am sure you could even find a good use for the left over scraps! Happy WOYWW. Angela #12
Sorry for the generic comment but I am up to my neck getting ready for Paris and getting to grips with last minute sample making but still wanted to visit everyone. Stay safe and happy belated WOYWW. Sarah
