OLD FRIENDS, OLD FRIENDS
SAT ON THE PARKBENCH LIKE BOOK ENDS...
Hello lovely Deskers, hope you've had a good week! Mine has been busy in all sorts of ways. First, the desk:
I've made a start on the new fabric, the sausage dog is all used up and now I'm starting on the butterflies!
I used up all the cherry blossom too, making different things and found a small remnant of the blue camo so thought I'd make more cross body bags. The smaller is the dimensions as given in the tutorial but I thought I'd scale it up and have a slightly bigger version too. I'm doing a craft fair this weekend and have tried to make more Welsh stuff for it. These bags are quick to make and no faffing around with zips!
Other than that my time was taken up with a visit from an old friend Liz. The weather wasn't the greatest for her but we had a blustery visit to the harbour and beaches:
We got a bit sand blasted! Liz wanted to see the JanCave, she's a very good sewist herself and had a go at my new machine:
And while it was raining, I got on with a few projects and Liz kindly cut some strips out of the scraps box for the next quilt:
Now that's a good friend eh?! Lol.
Lynnecrafts sent me a pic from a FB group of colleagues from our television days:
You can spot Yours Truly bottom left of the group! I worked on all the series of Crosswits, it was great fun and a fast paced show which kept us on our toes. Like Ancient History now, this was possibly taken 40 years ago!! How is that possible? Ah well, Tempus Fugit and all that *grin*
Hope you have a great week, keep your fingers crossed for me at the fair on Saturday xxxx

I am glad you got to get out with your friend Liz, shame about the weather; love the pic of you both.. Great photo from "olden times" too! I don't remember the programme though... Happy WOYWW Helen #1
I'm sure your bags will sell well. The fabrics are super. Lovely to see you and Liz enjoying happy times together. You can't beat a bit of quality time crafting. x x Jo 🌈
Fab photo! What fun, the memories flooding back. Lovely day out, even despite the bluster, I'm sure. And such a lot of fun fabrics too. How handy to have a quilting prep-chef! You'll fly thru projects! Knitting day for me
Happy WOYWW!

Always great to meet up with old friends. I don't remember the programme either though 40 years ago I didn't watch much TV, usually too busy, actually don't watch it that much now either! maybe that's a good sign! but that is a great photo. WOYWW hugs, Angela x7x
I am sorry, but I don’t think I watched that programme. A great photograph for you to remember those days. Lovely to have a like minded friend to visit. Good luck with your craft fair. Angela #11

I’m glad you enjoyed the TTTV photo. Happy times! You look to have had a fun time with Liz, despite the weather, and I bet you had a good old chat in the Jancave!
Good luck with the craft fair this weekend. I’m not sure if B’s cousins will turn up, they’re Williams’s too. I hope it goes well.
Happy WOYWW

I'm glad you got to spend time with an old friend. Looks as if she helped you get ahead for the fair this weekend. Fingers crossed although you don't need that much with the lovely things you do. All certainly sellers.
You were a mere youngster on the photo, and a very pretty one too.
Love the bags and the butterfly fabric should be a winner with whatever you make, women love butterflies.
Love the thoughts of me being PP on my scooter, could be that name or Evie for Everton (team I support on behalf of my son) or ?.
Hugs, Neet 2 xx
Oh WOW the photo is epic, didn't realise you were in TV - wicked! The smaller cross body bag is dead cute. Hugs BJ#5
I do like a bit of Simon and Garfunkel Jan - apt for the visit of your friend. Loved the photo when I saw it on FB - great memories! Fabulous fabric pieces as usual on your desk. Stay safe and happy belated WOYWW. Sarah
How nice to have had a lovely visit with your friend! You both look happy enough getting sandblasted! And it's always nice to have a helper! I love the cross body bags, the butterfly fabric will bring in the summer! Don't we all love old photos to remind us how old we have gotten?😆Looks like happy times though! Have a lovely week, Lindart #14
Lovely bags. Best of luck with the craft fair. Anesha
Hello Jan, I hope the craft fair went well for you. I love the butterfly patterned fabric - very pretty. It's always so nice to spend time with an old friend and I can see you both enjoyed being together again. I had never heard of the programme you worked on but it looks like just my thing. I love crosswords. Hugs, Elizabeth x #3
