I WEAVE THE CLOTH OF MANY COLOURS...
Hi there lovely Deskers, hope you've had a good week! It's been another full on one for me, I've been out a lot and putting in some hours in the JanCave too.
Last Saturday was a quieter time at the craft fair but I still took £60 which is better than nothing!
I had a nice time chatting with my friend Jan Jewellery and the other stall holders!
It's been busy at the sewing machine:
As I was cutting out, ironing then sewing, things got chucked onto the bed. Considering I didn't want it in here, it's been remarkably useful!
I sold a few of these bags on Saturday, this one is for a commission - I had to send for the fabric so might have got a couple of other things too...cough...
All gorgeous but that cherry blossom has to be my favourite.
These all sold out (pic from last week)
I've got enough fabric to make a couple more.
My friend Helen has taken on a Treasurer's role recently and the folders etc were handed over to her in a Macy's plastic bag of all things! So she asked me if I could make a bag of equal dimensions as it was a good size for items not to roll around.
So I measured the Macy's bag, found this gingham cotton canvas I've had for a while and set to....
I boxed the corners so it's a little deeper and put a pocket on the front for pens, small bits and bobs, etc. Helen was really pleased and didn't want the Macy's bag back, lol!!
I have an old friend staying from tomorrow so if I don't get round to commenting today, it may well be the weekend before I am able. Hope you're keeping well and happy, may your crafting be stress free xxxxx

Well done on the latest fair even if not such fabulous takings. You always find such gorgeous fabrics. Enjoy the time with your friend, hope the weather isn't too bad! Happy WOYWW Helen #'3
I'm not surprised those bags sold quickly They are so smart and the fabric is beautiful. Well done on the sales. I really must get round to making a few small items from the box of fabrics I have just waiting for me. Where does time go? Have fun with your visitor x x Jo 🌈
Thje addition to the Macy bag is great, no wonder the Treasurer was pleased. My crochet bag is now going to be used for needlefelting and my crochet things are in with my knitting wools now. It's just perfect.
Love those bags that sold out, not surprised they went and that cherry blossom fabric is going to be a winner, it is beautiful and transports me to Japan.
Have a lovely time with your old friend and see you on here when you. next have time.
Special hugs, Neet 8 xx
Gorgeous bags Jan. I bet they sell like hotcakes. They are so useful. Hope you are well xx
Fairs are fun, if only for the chat and seeing what else is out there, but £60 does seem barely worth the effort. If it was close, fine, but if you had to drive miles to get to it that would have been extra disappointing. Loving you bright bags - great fabric - and the paper-bag replacement. Macy's? Was that ever in the UK? I think of that and I think New York and the Thanksgiving Day parade!
On time? YES. Happy WOYWW!

Well done for your craft fair takings. £60 is still good fundraising. Was this the fair where you hoped the Welsh flag items would be popular?
Your bags are beautiful and your new fabrics are lovely, particularly the cherry blossom one! Evelyne’s going to love her sausage dog bag!
Happy WOYWW
Hugs, Lynnecrafts 11 xx
Love all your bags including the Macy's replacement! Would have loved one of those colourful ones! I must admit I agree with you on the cherry blossom fabric.
Happy WOYWW! Susan #13
I've not done a lot of charity sewing lately....now there's a surprise and it's not that I dont have the fabric :-) I love your makes and I'm not surprised they sell out.

Loving that commissioned bag Jan and the new fabric is gorgeous. That new bag style looks really useful too. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah
Great bags . Well done at your craft fair. Anesha x
Hello Jan, your display is very tempting, I must say. Well done on your takings for the day. Every bit counts. You should see what's on the bed in my cave. It's a mess of picture frames, the one's I mention in my post today, scrapbook albums and clothes. I've been reviewing my wardrobe and moving winter stuff out but first I have to review the cupboard I have earmarked for these clothes ... you get the picture, I'm sure! Love the gingham bag. It's a great shape and size, and the side pocket will be so handy. I can see why you were tempted by those fabrics. All gorgeous and I couldn't possibly choose a favourite. Have a great time with your old friend this week. Hugs, Elizabeth x #15
Hi Jan, do you ever rest! what a busy week and it's only Wednesday. I wonder if the craft fair was quiet because it was Half term, think lots of people went away. Hope you have a nice time with your friend too. Happy woyww, Angela x9x
Oh I love the dachshund bag! How big are the bags? My purse is a bit big, but I am reluctant to stop using because I bought it at the Harry Potter shop in Yorkshire. I wondered if your design would hold it and have room for a phone too? The gingham bag is lovely too. People must have a hard choice when they come to your stand. Have a great week.happy WOYWW. You are so talented! I love the gingham bag, and the other bags as well. First thing I thought of was - a perfect size for my i-Pad! (but I don't really know do I? Would it be?) I love the photo of you with all of you awesome creations! Have a wonderful week, ☺️Lindart #16
I hope you're having a lorra fun with your guest! LOVE the cherry blossom fabric, wow it immediately caught my eye. You know how much I value and use my body bag, so I suspect that the gingham bag will be become an instant treasure for the treasurer. See what I did there! I also occasionally use a cross body phone bag so I can totes see the appeal and the reason your stock went so fast, great idea and more sophisticated than the one I brought!
Dear Jan!
You deserved more than 60 Pounds, but as you say - better than nothing and you had nice time chatting!
Now you are busy again. Nice fabrics. I felt in love with the "New Macy's bag". You did it so well.
Have a nice week.

I can defo vouch for the usefulness of a bed nearby although I need to sleep in mine so need to clear it daily - LOL. So loving your body bags and also love the gingham one. I so need to get some gingham to do one of the sewing projects from last week. Hand is still a pickle especially after doing the garden Monday Ho Hum - Hugs BJ#1
