ALL KINDS OF EVERYTHING...
It's been a really lovely sociable week, seeing friends, volunteering in the RNLI shop and watching a bit of the royal celebrations.
The only thing I kept from the Queen figure (Betty, remember her?) was the Imperial State Crown and, having seen the original a few times this weekend, think that Kim and I did a blooming good job of ours:
It took me ages to stick on all those gems but it was worth it and Kim's idea of using coloured glue sticks to make the cabochon emeralds was simply genius!! Still makes me smile xx
Sewing wise, I've been replenishing some of my stocks after the hospice ladies took everything I offered!
I finished my bees quilt and bound (? binded? bonded?) the edge with a satisfying coloured spotty fabric. Think this one might be a keeper!
Then I cut into the Scatty Cats fabric:
There was enough to make three folding shopping bags and two glasses cases.
My tv crafting is still knitting 6" squares and I was having a count up to see how many I'd done:
I like these tones very much, the variegated squares just give it a bit of interest. Only another 20 to do!
I'm really looking forward to the anniversary next week, it's always fun to join in and see what mini masterpieces everyone has come up with. But before then, I have the added excitement of having Wipso and hubby visiting this weekend, they're on another caravan road trip and are coming down our way. It'll be sooooooo lovely to see them both again, it has been ages.....

Oh what a wonderful quilt. I think you have the quilting bug Jan - you have such a talent for combining fabric and colours. Have fun with your visitors - just make sure they behave themselves- I am sure there will be lots of laughter. I will tell her to pack her Tenas! x x Jo

The quilt is beautiful, Jan. I bet Charlie would have found your crown easier to wear! I enjoyed the pageantry of it too.
I wonder if you could make me 10 assorted bags please to take to France as little gifts. It would be nice to take something that benefits the RNLI as well. Evelyne has a dachshund-I don’t know if any of your doggie fabrics include sausage dogs? We don’t go until after your hols so I hope there’s be enough time before your holiday?

I'm playing catch up with my favourite blogs now Louie has gone home. It's been a full on morning and I still have 2 customers to come yet [and their sewing to do of course].

So glad you kept your crown and shared it again, a real masterpiece. Think I said how much I love the bee fabrics last week so yes a defo keeper. I love your crown - well,Betty's crown. You two ladies did a fantastic job - I think you should make a King for us all to enjoy some time soon.
Your bee quilt is the bees knees. Sorry, that just slipped out, no thinking behind it at all. I love anything to do with bees. Friends and family tend to buy me stuff with bees on. It's part of the City Coat of Arms and the symbol can be seen throughout the city in so many ways. Scarves, ear rings, bags, and of course my gold chain and matching ear rings (real, not costume).
When I am normal I like to be a busy bee too, but not as busy as you are.

Hi Jan, sorry to be so late. In fact you've probably met up with Annie & Doddie by now - so nice to catch up in person. Your quilt is beautiful and definitely a keeper. Love the cat fabric. The spec case you made for me in that fabric is in daily use - taking my glasses off and stowing them safely is the last thing I do every day.
