Oh you take the High Road and I’ll take the Low Road…
Hello lovely deskers, it’s been a couple of weeks since I shared my desk because G and I went away for our Ruby Anniversary to the lovely city of Edinburgh. I’m sorry I missed the Crop, it looks like you had a grand time, great to see all the pics to share the day. Unfortunately both G and I contracted Covid after we got back home and I’m not feeling great so today will be a short post and I’m not sure if I’ll even get round to commenting.
My desk pretty much as it has been for a fortnight!
We had such a good time in Edinburgh, walked our feet off and celebrated our anniversary in style. We might have had the odd dram too!
*Edit* Now for some very sad news indeed - Phil Rock and Margaret Craner contacted me on Tuesday to say that Debbie had passed away, it was very sudden and a complete shock, they asked that I let the deskers know. Debbie was one of the most generous souls I've ever met offering help with her time and her art. It was a real pleasure to meet her in person at the Crop in Burbage:
Debbie was never confident about her crafting but I thought it was wonderful and am lucky enough to have four of her pieces.

What absolutely awful news about Debbie. A real shock. As you say she was a kind, generous person devoted toher family. all who met her - in person for via the net - will miss her.
I am glad you and G had a good time in Edinburgh - apart from coming back with Covid! I hope there'll be photos soon.
Hugs. Helen #3
I do hope you and G are feeling better soon Jan. A sad loss indeed. Sarah #4

Happy WOYWW

What a lovely photo of Debbie, and that is how she should be remembered, smiling and so generously talented. Her poor family must be in bits. It's knocked the wind out of my sails this morning.
Glad you and G had a lovely time in Edinburgh, you were missed at the Crop but hopefully we will meet up again next year.
Take care lovely lady, so sorry you have Covid and are feeling rough with it. I hope it passes soon and you get back to full health and in that Jan Cave.
Hugs, gentle ones of course

Sad news about Debbie, I never met her but her work was so empowering. Hope you two are feeling better soon, the awaful virus is effecting so many people I know at the moment. Thank goodness we are seeing more people on the supermarket going back to wearing masks again. Wish we could have met at the crop but maybe anpther time. Sending hugs, Angela x9x
I’m so sorry you’re all down with the covid. I’m elated that your trip to Edinburgh was so good…that really is a wonderful photo of you both. Did you take any pics that are shareable post the ‘wee dram’?!!
We have and will again, no doubt talk about Debbie. Your words are spot on and that’s such a nice picture of her, she was very camera shy too, wasn’t she. I scheduled my post for this morning and in the event was up to watch it post itself, no doubt that my brain is having trouble absorbing the loss of such a lovely friend.
What a great photo. Congratulations to both of you for such a milestone. And happy for you that you could get away and enjoy time together. ❤❤ So sorry for the loss of a friend. I hope you both recover from Covid, I found Rum Chata in my coffee early morning was good! Hot baths/honey/ginger tea, may it leave you as fast as it came.
Glad you enjoyed your third try at a ruby wedding holiday Jan. So sorry to hear about Debbie.
Hope you both feel better soon and that Rhys escapes it.
Tak care, big hugs

Hope you are both feeling better soon. Glad you had such a wonderful time in Edinburgh, such a wonderful city.
So sad about Debbie, so talented although she didn't realise it. I have a treasured tag from her.

Hi Jan,
It's been another crazily busy day for me with the Advent calendars flying out my door as soon as I put them up for sale so my feet have only just stopped for a quick break and time to visit a few of my favourite blogs.
So sorry to hear you've both had Covid.
I think I'm still in shock of the news about Debbie...such a lovely lady.
Hugs,
Ammie x
Happy Anniversary, I'm glad you had a wonderful time. Too bad about the Covid, we had that at the end of September too, I wouldn't be surprised if you just went back to bed for a week (you should!). So sorry about Debbie, I didn't know her, but she seems to have been a lovely person. Feel better soon, rest!! Lindart #21
Glad to know that you had a great time in Edinburgh- it does take the edge off though coming back with Covid (T and I brought it back from Paris in April!) Hope you feel better soon!
Debbie was such a lovely lady, always generous with her time and her fabulous art. The photo of her makes me sad that we will never meet again. Hugs, Chrisx #18
Very sad news. I am glad you enjoyed your time away.hugs Angela #16
Always sad to hear about one of our deskers leaving us. So glad you and Graham managed to enjoy your trip to Edinburgh before the dreaded covid caught you. I am still recovering it has left me with a croaky voice and cough. Ani
The news yesterday about Debbie just knocked me for six. It's not like we were close, but I always admired her art and never understood why she couldn't see how amazing it (and she) was. After one of my "grand tidy's" I sent her a couple of quite massive boxes of things I knew would suit her and her style. She sent me back the most amazing journal that is breathtaking to behold. The world is a drabber place without her. I am glad your anniversary was a fab one, but also sorry to hear you got Covid. Darling Daughter did as well, got over it in a flash, with maybe a day of what you might call symptoms. The Hubster and I avoided it and we are all now vaxxed to the gills. Such is life in 2022...
Looking forward to a cheerier WOYWW next week
Back to being late, but only slightly.

So sorry I'm late been gardening while the weather is fine. TBH was a bit gobsmacked on Weds by the news about Debbie, really couldn't get my head round that. Just seems to be one bit of bad news after the other lately. Hope you and G are feeling better - I am 'almost' negative today - only the faintest of lines. I'm used to the cough, but the tiredness does swamp me from time to time but despite the hours spent in bed I don't feel like I've had a refreshing nights sleep for ages. Here's hoping for a healthier and happier week ahead!! love n hugs Cindy xx #10
Sad news......I didn't know Debbie, but your words bring her close to me.
You both: get well soon! And feel better!
Nice trip to Edinburgh. Really good idea, to celebrate the ruby wedding.
Wish you all the best!
Eva from Austria
So sad, I didn't know! I've just left a message on her FB page. :((
