A LIFE ON THE OCEAN WAVE....
Another week that has whizzed by! Not all plans came to fruition but we had perfect weather for the Bank Holiday weekend, no rain, lots of sunshine and breezes and not too hot, gorgeous! The holidaymakers were out in full force in the town so the RNLI shop did well, I was there on Monday and we were busy! The cafe has been too and the latest total for my sales was £258 so that was pleasing! All for a good cause xx
The desk has seen some action too:
A dress I'm going to shorten to make a top and the nautical fabrics were out in force.
The cases need ironing and the bags are pinned ready for sewing.
Here's one I made earlier, lol! I like the red lining very much.
And I sewed and edged four baby blankets:
I'm currently doing a stripey one to add to the pile!
Something to make you smile for the last pic - there's a few of us from our school days that are still in touch and a couple of old pics were shared on WhatsApp, here's one of mine:
Helen, Diane and me taking part in a sketch at school, we must be 16 I think. And all of us are in regular contact living in the area, it's marvellous. As for me, once a drama queen.......*grin*
Have a great week!!

what a fab pic of you and your friends - and wonderful that you are still in contact with them.
Happy WOYWW Helen #?
Hi Jan, Glad the RNLI shop and cafe were doing so well. Those nautrical items should sell quickly.
Loving the blankets.
Did laugh at the photo.

Nice legs!
What a lovely amount you raised for the RNLI but no surprise there as you have some lovely things for sale on your stalls when you do them.
I see you have been busy yet again and I love the nautical fabric - especially with the red polka dot lining - it brings out the red in the sails.
Four baby blankets too - and another one on the way. gosh Jan, you are such a busy person and such a generous soul - especially with your time. I must post a picture of an advertising board I saw at weekend. If I forget do remind me.
Hugs, Neet 1 xx
Good morning 🤗 Jan, well done on raising so much ⭐ for RNLI. Such a treat for the eyes to see what you're working on ... loving the nautical fabric and that red polka dotty lining ❤🤩🥰😍fab!! Tooo your baby blankets❤ treasured they will be and not just one but four ... you are amazing with all you do! What a gorgeous pic back in time with you and your friends, love it!! Sending love and hugs Tracy #9 xxxx
Some great fabric. It's good to hear small shops are doing well, here food places are having hiring issues, closed a LOT, have to call ahead to see if they are open. Clothes purchases seem to be an issue for me, no ladies shops close and no inventory in the city. I don't order on line as my body is not normal !!!! Love the old photos. those were the fun days, and it's great to keep in touch. About 8 of us get together 2/3 times a year, not many live close by for any of us but we reminisce a lot. Our long holiday "labor day" is this weekend no plans we wait for weather and spur of the moment seems works. Enjoy a good week
Morning Jan. Well... what can I say? Fabulous picture. Great fun. I remember doing something a little similar in my upper 6th year!!
That "Blue Peter" glasses case is great - yes! Red lining. Fabulous. You certainly are keeping busy - great sale result!, 4 baby blankets, lots of boat fabric used up, and sewing machine ready primed for the next batch of items. Well done.
Take care. God bless.

Great and well done - raising so much for the RNLI.My respect!
The nautical fabrics are so nice. Love them.
Lovely baby blankets. You're such a good soul!
Memories of youth - they really bring a smile.
Best wishes to you,
Eva from Austria
Your fund raising is amazing - so proud of you! How lovely to still have friends from that age locally - I have a few left but they are all pretty far flung!! I like the red lining too but then I'm a sucker for a polka dot!! Have a good week, love n hugs Cindy xx #16
Fabulous makes as always, Jan, but there’s a freshness to anything nautical that is unique. I need to bet my sewing big girl pants on as I have lost the notion for crafting in the hot weather we have been having. Catriona
Ha ha - fab photo Jan - saucy pink bloomers there! Your nautical makes are really lovely - you have certainly found a seller there and you make them so beautifully. I don't know if Annie has linked me today - could you please check for me and if not, link me up. Thanks Jan. xx Jo
Wow, what a great photo of you! Well done for volunteering in the shop and for all your fundraising for the RNLI. How come you’re now sewing up your crochet squares? They look like lovely blankets. The nautical fabrics should sell well, they look very swish.
Take care and happy WOYWW

Ah I too love seaside fabric, Jan, especially the one with the red inside to lift it and make it pop… all pretty cheery fabrics too. Wow, that’s and impressive amount of mint to be raised with your handiwork, and how nice that they keep tally if it to encourage you like that.
Baby blankies very nice, and how I chuckled at the sixteen year olds, I have some like that though not that dress up some pretty like it. And think the fact you’re all nearby age still in touch after all these years is pretty remarkable.
Thanks for Sharing, God bless and keep you safe, and all those you love, hugs Shaz in Oz.x

The RNLI lot must love you and I'm sure they appreciate all your hard work in making these great gifts. Loving the photo of you and your friends, sadly I never see people I went to school with and probably wouldn't recognise them now if I passed them in the street. You are very lucky to have kept in touch. Wishing you a very happy and creative woyww, Angela x12x
Oh that photo is funny! I'm guessing you're the one on the right? How wonderful that you still keep in touch with old school friends. I love your maritime makes - perfect for RNLI shop! Happy Wednesday! xx zsuzsa #19
Congratulations on your sales for the RNLI, a well deserved pat on the back for you. It is amazing that you have that photograph and the three of you are still living in the area. I had one special friend at school and sadly she died, then after I met my husband at 15 his friends became our friends. Happy WOYWW. Angela #17
OMG that picture of you three is just wonderful, am loving the drama pose! Totally easy to see how Gordon fell for you, you flame haired beauty. Ah, happy days, huh! Loving the baby blankets, you are good to not put off sewing them up. I had a ridiculously long tunic top shortened a couple of weeks ago, it makes me look at my wardrobe with scissors in my eyes!! Wonderful totals for the RNLI sales again, you are a marvel, and I agree, a last ironing makes all the difference in presentation.
Cool that your projects are selling and helping! Such gorgeous fabrics and colors! Cute baby blankets that will be greatly appreciated.
Love the blast from the past!
Have a wonderful week!

Oh the Good Ol' Days! You look like you were having fun! And you still are from the looks of things! great takings, great new nautical items (I like the red lining too) and great baby blankets! Having just returned from the ocean, it must be so nice to live beside the ocean, I love the smell, the breezes off the ocean, and your little lighthouse is almost a miniature of the one at Peggy's Cove! Have a great week, thanks for your visit, Lindart #22
That end photo is EPIC, love it. Super blankets and great makes at the desk too. Love the nautical fabric, just right for the shop. Maybe I ought to be hooked up to the national grid too LOL BJ#8
Oh I have been feeling quite flat this week, hearing of another loss, and just not a lot of wind in my WOYWW sails, but with that photo of you you have lifted my spirits to no end. It's a great one. Whatever was the sketch? Lovely to see all the blankies too, and your fab sewing. I might even add back in the Happy WOYWW to my comments now. :)

wow brilliant fundraising and that dark blue fabric with the white ships is really lovely too. LOVE the photo of you and your friends at 16, must admit met up with 2 of my friends from school last weekend in my old hometown and I swear you just regress at times to being 15 again! :-)
