WOYWW 676 ( a nice palindrome for the Anniversary!)

 CONGRATULATIONS AND CELEBRATIONS

13 - unlucky for some but not us deskers! Who'd have thought this desky snooping would still be going after all this time - many congrats to Julia for keeping us all on the straight and narrow (mostly!!)  I don't know about you but my life would definitely be the poorer for not having you lovely lot around - I've made wonderful friendships and just learned so much from everyone. Long may it continue xxx

Julia's ATC theme of 'Connections' threw me a bit and a fabric or painty version didn't happen - but then I thought of words and the desks being connected and so this is what I came up with....

I feel I cheated doing it on the computer but these are the connections that are important to me every week so here it is anyway! You'll all be getting one (whether you like it or not, lol!!)

As for my desk, the sewing is still going strong:

Bags cut out, stuff waiting to have poppers put in etc etc.

I had to get more of this cat fabric as it proved very popular!

I've already cut into the new fabrics shown last week - these are two of my 'surprise' totes, one folded up to show the plain outside, the other showing the colourful bag inside!

Some more fabric turned up as well:

From Doughty's shop, I couldn't resist them!

They got cut into straight away as well! I have to say the poppy one is my absolute fav, I may have to keep one of those for myself. I'd recently bought some grey spotty for linings and it had a slightly olive tinge to it which goes perfectly with the poppy outer. Love it!

Thank you for all the support every week and for such lovely comments as well - I really appreciate it more than you could know, my life would be poorer for not having met you lovely folk. Thank you very much/ Diolch yn fawr iawn xxxxxxx

I think you came up with a great idea for the theme; mine is loose to say the least but the best bit is the joining in and the friendship. an atc is on it's way to you already. thanks for the years of friendship, the deputising for Julia and the food in the early crop years. oh and the desk sign for crop 1 which I still have! Love and happy WOYWW Helen 3/4 - someone had to be the first to forget her *!!

I can't believe how similar our ATCs are. I didn't create all of mine (I made one for Julia and one for my PIF that had a few different words) on the computer, but a few of the words I couldn't find in magazines were computer generated.

I also like that poppy fabric. It immediately caught my eye. Happy WOYWW from number 1.

I love the ATC and I have already received one from you. You are a peach. And I still have your address from the last swap so one of mine will be winging it's way to you very soon. Glad you found some cute cat material in the end. Love it. And have loved all your fabric cratiness over the years. Hear there will be a crop! Cannot WAIT!
Happy 13th year of WOYWW!

Your ATCs came yesterday so Annie and I swapped when I popped round for coffee and catch up. We loved it - it says it all and of course many of the same themes featured in our poem that we wrote together - great minds think alike!. Your fabric choice just gets better and better and yes, that poppy one is perfect and totally gorgeous. There are so many beautiful fabrics out there just now. Doughty's shop is fab isn't it. Happy and glorious 13th WOYWW anniversary. xx Jo

Thanks for my ATC which arrived yesterday (opened today) what a lovely idea!
Yours will be in the post, decided to add a bit of glossy this morning to them.
Love the poppy fabric, I adore poppies and I have five out in the garden at the moment and loads of buds. Then there is a shed load of Welsh poppies about. Some dig them out as weeds but I love them.
Have a gin or two in celebration of today and I will join you - at a more sensible hour. LOL
Hugs, Neet 7 xx

Hi Jan, Happy WOYWW Anniversary. Love all your fabric pieces. We are near York at the moment which is a lovely city - and has a Harry Potter shop! I think your ATC is very clever and I wish I had thought of it. I struggled with the theme and only wish I had the foresight to print quotes or words out before we left. No room in the caravan for a printer. Those small printers are just too expensive! Looking forward to meeting you 9n October Hugs Angela #13

I'm hoping to comment on all blogs today [I'm using the laptop cos I struggle on my Ipad] Happy Anniversary to you. It's a wonderful community we belong to and it's so lovely to have made so many friends thanks to our WOYWW link ups.
I'm sorry to hear you wont be able to join us at the crop [it just wont be the same without you]. We really must get together again in the not too distant future...missing you lots.

Hi Jan, Happy Anniversary. I love seeing what you're up to even though I do always feel a bit guilty that I don't do much sewing these days but having taught it for 33 years I felt when I retired that I needed a change and I'm still enjoying playing with other stuff. Thank you for your lovely words over at mine too. I am not going to promise at this stage but hubby today said he thought I could probably join the crop in October so fingers crossed. Wishing you a very happy woyww on this special day. Hugs Angela x15x

I love your ATC Jan, the idea is brilliant. I struggled for ideas but enjoyed the challenge, once I'd decided what to do of course! The fabrics are beautiful and I especially love the poppies one - I loved last week's poppies fabric too - you can't beat a splash of bright red.
Happy 13th anniversary - what an achievement, and I love and appreciate the fun and friendship you bring to the desks each week.

Hiya Jan - Happy Anniversary!! Thank you so much for sending me an 'early' ATC - was just what I needed to get me back on track!! I would have been gutted to miss the anniversary but life has been so hectic lately RL seems to be taking priority. Love the cat and poppy fabrics - they are definitely my favourite!! Will take me weeks to catch up with everyone so will raise a glass with you tonight - at the theatre again!! This time to see Fascinating Aida, hope they aren't too naughty they might shock some of my companions. (The last thing I took them to was we will rock you!!). Have a great week, love n hugs Cindy xx

Oh that dotty purple inside fabric is my absolute favourite colour. Not sure I have worked out how your bag fold up yet - LOL My ATC is a lot more cryptic, think I might need to explain it on my blog as and when it reaches Australia!!! Thanks for the visit BJ#18

PS your comment doesn't seem to be showing on my blog, but fortunately I get the comments as emails too - phew!

Well if it hadn’t been for you six years ago when I had that surgery, I doubt we’d still be here, so please take a bow! Lovely words, and we all feel that you’ve part of the lynch pin, so no running! I love how fabrics just turn up at your place, it’s like magic. I love the poppies too, but my real winning favourite is the apples and pears. No idea why, although you know I like a bit of fruit, specially dried, in a cake!! Thank you for the ATC, it made me laugh out loud, such a great way to illustrate the connections, why on earth didn’t I think of that. Might have to redact my name on it though. I’m off to Folkestone in the Van tomorrow, but would like to try to catch up at the end of the week.xxxxxx

Hi Jan, Loving all the colourfuol fabric and your makes as always are fab. I visited the RNLI shop at Cart Gap, Norfolk this week, as was on holiday just down the road from it. Sadly they didn't have any lovely makes like yours to boost their revenue.

Thank you for the WOYWW 13. Yours is sadly the only WOYWW blog I visit, but I so look forward to it each week.

Happy 13th anniversdary WOYWW
