ALL AROUND MY HAT I WILL WEAR THE GREEN WILLOW
Thank you for the really lovely comments about Her Majesty last week, I was very grateful as we'd had a lot of fun in the construction! She's still supervising me in the JanCave:
And given that the Omicron cases are rising, her mask will be staying put for the foreseeable future as well!
I had a call from Laura at the cafe saying that things had been flying out of the door and did I have spares to restock (especially masks) Well, I had some but not a huge amount having only filled the basket two weeks ago so last Friday was Big Sew day.
I made twenty so hope that's enough to be going on with!
Glasses cases were running low too:
A big cutting out session ensued and I took the opportunity to sort out my box of fabrics that I use for linings.
I also had to make a few more Christmas cards so had a quick watercolour session:
You can't see the Stickles sparkly tinsel on the trees but they were quite pretty!
I've been out playing carols (outdoors and socially distanced) so that got me feeling more festive and then had an invite to make a wreath at my friend Mary's yesterday.
Mary, Helen and Kim - there was half a ton of greenery on Mary's table, I took twine and ribbons. We all had a lot of fun and a good chinwag:
You can't take her anywhere!! Kim was my partner in crime in making The Queen.
I thoroughly enjoyed myself and now have a wreath to hang on the front door which cost nothing to make.
Have a good week everyone!

Loving the choice of lyric this morning! the wreath looks amazing, well done - and great for being free to make too! you all look like it was great fun making them. Happy WOYWW Helen #?
How busy you have been Jan. Loving the wreaths and it is good to see a photo of your partner in crime for Her Majesty. I shall be donating to charity this year rather than sending cards, but yours are beautiful. Stay safe and happy WOYWW. Sarah #2
What a fabulous garland for your door and what a fabulous photo of you with it. Lovely to meet your partner in crime, she looks fun and I can imagine you two together getting Betty ready was a hoot.
What a treasure you are to the RNLI shop, guess people buy your wares as Christmas gifts, now I should have thought of that!
If it was left to me Betty would reign for quite a long time in my craft room, I would not be able to dismantle her ever. That head is so like her.
Hugs, Neet 3 xx
Oh how lovely to get together with craft mates for fun and frivolity! We need more of it. I love the last photo Jan - I think that should be your next set of Christmas cards!! Lovely. Well done on the mask front - I guess we will need to make more for everyone soon. xx Jo
Hi Jan, Thanks for my lovely Christmas card.
You are so kind to make the various things for sale. Your things must raise a lot for the RNLI.
Glad her Maj is still with you. Maybe you could rent her out to various places, with the fee going to charity.
Your holiday wreath is lovely.
Happy WOYWW

Hi Jan, I love your wreath. I keep meaning to plant a holly bush so I can have access to some for Yuletide. What a nice way to spend the day!
So glad your masks etc are selling well at Harbour lights; it’s good they benefit both those wanting protection and the RNLI.
Will Betty stay there permanently then? Maybe you could give her post its so people can use her for messages eg “Remember to buy the Racing Times” or something?😏
Pretty watercolour cards as well
Take care, stay safe and happy WOYWW

Oh that wreath is just lovely, what a great way to spend a few hours, and tell Mary, I love her snowflakes! I hope amidst all the bustle of spewing and replenishing that you’re taking a moment to be proud of yourself for all the effort, the ideas, the funds. My Brussels set has been admired twice already, just wait till I bust out the bag!!
Surely, you can't just put Betty on a scrap heap - it would be high treason! I'm afraid you're stuck with her now! Wow, Jan, your hand painted cards look amazing! I could so imagine them selling in shops - of course they would never look as good as the original ones if they were just printed. Happy mask making - I must admit, I only wear the disposable ones and just reuse them. You ladies must have had a ball making those wreathes - have fun and stay safe! xx zsuzsa #14
One of my favourite songs as your header . . .
Such a fun day was had by the look of your photos . . .. super wreaths, well done girls.
Have a good week

Hi Jan, glad to see Her Maj's is still with you and shielding from the dreaded virus. And you've been busy sewing - I'm not at all surprised the masks and glasses cases are so popular. The wreath making session looks like great fun and the finished wreaths are beautiful. Have a great WOYWW and another fun week. Hugs, Elizabeth x #16
Hi Jan, what fun you were having and bet the wreathes look gorgeous. Hope you manage to get enough masks made they are obviously very popular and look great. I saw your question about the Retiform technique. It's an interesting term and doesn't originate from crafting but is to do with the network of cells in the Lymphatic glands which create a net like structure. The technique is done by masking off areas and blending in ink to give this net like appearance and then mask the areas again and stamp the images. Hope that makes some sense. Happy creative woyww, Angela x10X
Well done you on your latest charity makes Jan...you are such a lovely gal. Love the wreathes too and like Jo said your photo would make fab cards....but I love the ones you’ve painted too.
Hugs,

Happy WOYWW. Go me - publishing my WOYWW post and actually doing some blog commenting all on a Wednesday! So much wonderful creativity. Your Christmas cards are just glorious. I can imagine the sparkle. I did a wreath making workshop for the first time a couple of weeks ago, and forgot to show photos of what I made (which is living outside in my stable at the moment to keep it fresh - with regular watering). We can't hang anything on our front door (and it would probably blow away!), so going to use mine as a table centrepiece with some LED candles in the middle. Your wreath is gorgeous. Ali x #17
Oh your watercolour cards are fabulous! Did you follow a tutorial? I thought I would like to do some for next year. Happy WOYWW Angela #15
Oh the wreaths are lovely! As Darling Daughter attends school at a garden centre we usually get a wreath for the door made up with her particular likes (lots of tinsel and glittery things in silver and purple) so I am quite envious of your greenery LOL!
I may take you up on addresses, but someone else suggested the ATC swap might offer up some. Truthfully, who am I kidding? Unless I actually begin Xmas prep before Thanksgiving, I will never find the time. This year things seem to have snowballed already! No one to blame but myself....
hence late again, but Happy WOYWW!

Even my husband was happy to see you in the pretty wreath. :-)
And my postbox was happy too, hope yours will be the same in time. Snail Mail is on the way....
I didn't feel well after my last vaccination, three days ago. But now I'm well again.
I like the foto with the three happy ladies in the kitchen. Can't invite my friends. We still have lockdown. Upper Austria one week longer, then some other federal states. :-(
Those pretty watercolored motifs! And best wishes to Her Majesty.
Eva from Austria
HI Jan! The Queen is awesome!! Better watch your manners in the Jan Cave from now on! Absolutely beautiful wreath, you certainly have artistic talent, no doubt about it! And your watercolour cards are Fab! I like the one with the bit of pink in the sky! They are all the same --but different. Love it! Thanks for your visit, Lindart #19
Wow those watercolours are magic! Nice to see your Janome hard at work too, super fabrics as usual. And to top it off with a super wreath, what a great week. BJ#8
It looks as if you've had a great time! The finiahed Queen is brilliant! And your water coloured cards are fantastic! We used to have addresses for some thing years back, as I still have them...but I think that might have been a forum swap or christmas card swap...or atc's.... anyway ! Stay Safe, keep crafting. Happy very late WOYWW!? ((Lyn))#13
