IS THAT WHAT YOU HEAR? THE COMING OF THE SEA?

We have had the most glorious weather in my corner of Wales over the Easter weekend, bright blue skies and lots of sunshine so we've been out quite a lot, even having coffee on the patio too. How lucky are we?!

Consequently, not a lot of crafting has been going on.....

I was colouring in some stamped house images that Shaz Silverwolf sent me ages ago, I don't possess any stamps and she kindly did me a few. I needed a house card so that's what whiled away the 2.5 hour chat with Julia. Honestly, we never drew breath, you'd wonder what we find to talk about!!)

I used my Arteza brush pens, they are so lovely to use and blend beautifully. I used my circle cutter to cut out the Kraft card for a background. Whoever gave the tip last week about colouring in a wide band of black around the image before cutting out, well, that was genius and hid the less than perfect snipping, lol!

I also doodled some watercolours after another tutorial:
Just playing really, trying to loosen up the paint.

Other crafting has been going on though - my teammate Kim has been making a fab job of:
You don't see this on the desks too often ;-D

And G helped me out with this:
He looks as if he's enjoying that way too much!!

But the highlight of the week was a glorious morning spent walking around our harbour on Good Friday, a very high tide at 10.15, lots of people cold water swimming and paddleboarding, little boats puttering around and the sand dredger heading out to the mouth of the estuary. (sorry to FB friends who've already seen these)
Our little lighthouse.....

It just lifted the spirits!

Hope you've had a good week and done more making than me!

Oh that disembodied arm so reminds me of the doll I made for Maddie! Her fondest wish was to have a doll as big as her. A challenge but fun for sure. The watercolour is gorgeous as ever, and I am looking forward to getting back to those tutorials as soon as I finish my current project. I have all I need but the time! Lovely to hear you and Julia got a long chat in - what bliss that must have been for you both. I met up with my knitting mate in the garden and we JUST squeaked it it before the weather got foul again. Not sure when next we can meet without bundling up and knitting in gloves is...tricky! Roll on spring!
Happy WOYWW day!

Aha! So G is practising being a brain surgeon is he? Mind you I do begin to wonder what the pair of you are up to with body parts littering the house. Are you starring in a new thriller?
Lovely photos of folks enjoying themselves on the water - how lovely to be able to see that so close to home.
Love your paper crafting - you are turning into a woman of so many talents. The watercolouring is fabulous and will always be attributed to you by me.
Hugs, Neet 4 xx

Hi Jan,
Thanks for your visit earlier - I’m hoping to hear that teaching has improved from that.
Your cards look lovely - you’ve really gone over to the dark side now 😏. I’m looking forward to to seeing your competition model!
I’m glad you had some good weather to walk around your lovely coast.
Take care, stay safe and happy WOYWW

Those coloured images look expertly done and will make beautiful cards! I bet you were thinking of Shaz while working on them. I keep bumping into things she either sent me or inspired me to buy. Lovely doodles again and I'm intrigued by the body parts. Gordon looks like he's "on the job" as my husband would say - in fact, he often makes the same expression LOL! What on earth is that going to be? Hope to find out soon! We had some very warms days here too before winter returned - one day shorts and T-shirts, the next winter coats and hats! The same thing happened last year when my rhododendron lost all its new shoots. It was so upsetting, but then it grew three new ones for each one it had lost! So there's always hope! Happy WOYWW! xx zsuzsa #21

Oooo really like the circle behind the image on your house card, jolly effective, must try that now... I did have a go at the watercolours at last, not too bad, loving your latest tutorial doodles though. Cool arm, looks a lot like the Queen to me! Oh and the sea is sparkling and gorgeous, I just have a very wee pond but I love looking in the water of even that. BJ#5

I’m curious to see what you’re making....Hope we get a show and tell some time soon. We had a gorgeous Easter weekend and managed catch ups with each family in turn then the weather changed and we woke to a covering of snow this morning....brrrrrr.

Years ago we went to Osborne House. On display were Queen Victoria’s mementos of her children as babies. No, not teeth or locks of hair...marble carvings of their little pudgy hands up to the wrist. We thought them a bit creepy. And then you show me the queen’s arm....I nearly fainted! seriously, great idea and the bracelet is genius. Please can I have copy of that manic G drilling into the head? My scrapbook is calling out for a pic of him.......
Those artefacts brush pens...when we chatted about them, I’m not sure that I realised how many were in the set. Yow! They are fab aren’t they. Remind me when we next chat that I have a couple more questions to ask about them, please. Promise it’ll only take a whole afternoon!!

Hi Jan.
What a week you have had - no snow??? We had some snowflakes yesterday, but nothing to settle. But talk about COLD!!!! Love the card you have made - and what successful colouring during a lovely catch-up with Julia. Well done you. Great photos of the harbour! Lovely walks. I have done loads of walks around near the water now we can take the car and THEN walk.
Take care. God bless.

We had sun over the weekend and then snow yesterday. The weather is up and down at the moment but guess that's the time of the year. Great to see you having a nice time over Easter. The colouring looks really good too. Sending big hugs and wishing you a very happy and creative woyww, Angela x17x

I'm laughing at the macabre body parts on your blog these days, Jan! It looks as if you are working on a project for the Chamber of Horrors at Madame Toussaud's. When is the blood going to make an appearance?! Your watercolours are scoring top marks again - I just love them. Good old CeeCee - what an inspiration she is. Makes me want to do some more. One day, one day... Also, what a lovely stamped image from Shaz. I love how the card came together with the circle background. Brilliant. Great pictures of your local surroundings, too.

Thank you for your visit - the kitty blanket is coming on fine. This afternoon my hubby was out and I pressed on with it, and have sewn the embellishments onto that first strip of squares that I joined up a few weeks ago - it's looking great! I am longing to continue but will have to wait now till he goes up to bed tonight. I was fascinated that you found Zentangle boring. It's so interesting, what grabs one person and bores another, isn't it. I find the repetitive strokes of it to be very relaxing and therapeutic - definitely Zen!! Still, as my mum always used to say, the world would be a very dull place if we all liked the same things! I love looking at beautifully arranged flowers, but can't do it to save my life and absolutely hate trying - I have loads of patience for the things I enjoy, but definitely not for that!

Happy WOYWW,

Your house is a bit strange with an arm and a head on the loose 🤣. Love the stamped houses. Yes Easter Sunday was glorious and then came the snow! Lovely watercolours, I haven’t done any lately. Happy WOYWW and have a great week Angela #6

Lovely house card, Jan, and I may just have looked at those brush pens online. I so envy your proximity to the sea-it’s such a longing for me but not anytime soon unfortunately. Happy making!

Hi, Jan!

I love the ocean! I grew up in Southern California and spent a lot of time at the beach with cousins. Thank you for sharing these pictures!
We now live by a couple rivers and lakes. Do not have a boat right now, but have had several and dare say there may be another in the future. Hubby fishes, I take lots of pictures, sometimes read. We used to tow grandchildren but they have all grown and moved away now.

I am so enjoying your watercoloring. I am learning too but must not have watched the same videos/tutorials as you. You are doing wonderfully well!

Thanks for sharing.
Stay safe and well.

That sea does look nice, we were going for a walk long the beach, but the wind was very chilly and hubby was busy in his workshop, he's doing up his dad's old bike, and, after a year, has got it put back together, and it actually started after over 30 odd years. I have some brush pens that haven't see the light of day in many years...I wonder if they still work!? The houses look lovely, and that black does work very well!
Stay safe! Keep crafting! Happy WOYWW?! ((Lyn)) #13

Ha, I raise your coffee on the terrace - I had breakfast on the patio Easter Sunday!! What a surprise to get such a lovely day which was then followed (here) by weird weather - we had a 10 minute blizzard the other day!! Loving the look of the sun on that water, I bet that was just magical. Happy WOYWW, have a good week, stay well, stay safe, love n hugs Cindyxx

Love your coloring with your brush pens! I have some but haven't played with them much. Great idea with the black outline.
Looks like you can give someone a hand.... bad pun. At least it's not an arm and a leg... worse pun.
Love the grin on G's face.
Great scenery and watercolors!
Have a great week!

HI Jan, oh that is neat ( the black border) usually what I do is flip the cut out image over on a piece of scratch paper and color the edge of what I cut with a black or grey marker) so, it does the same thing nearly. ( hides the white edge if you like to pop images up on sticky foam) now you did surprise me when you said you do not have any stamps at all? I know I have seen you make cards here and there over the last little while so, that did stop me in my tracks :) ~Stacy #26

Hi Jan. Your post made me giggle.
I so envy you the sea on your doorstep. It is well over 12months since I saw the sea. By time we go it will be at least two years :-(
Love the 'doodling', wish my doodles looked like that! :-) Take care Anne 29 x

Hi Jan!
We had glorious weather on Easter too, but now, snow came back! I'm sad!
I'm homesick when seeing your harbour. During the time my Daughter lived in England, (Norwich, Wroxham), we often took a trip to the sea.
I enjoy your card making.
When sun shines, better to take a cup of coffee outside, then crafting inside.
Best Wishes to you and your G,
Eva from Ausria
