KEEP ON MOVIN'

First, an apology for the appalling lack of comments last week, it just didn't happen for one reason or another. I shall do better today!

I genuinely don't know where the time is going, you turn around and it's 10pm and I haven't exactly been twiddling my thumbs. Some strange confusion in space and time, it's gotta be.....

Anyway, the desk:
More duvet covers, pillowcases and sheets have been arriving daily - we'd run out of fabric, so an SOS was put out to my RNLI shop buddies and they turned up trumps. It has been a true fabric frenzy in the JanCave!

I seem to have been sat in this position for most of the week!

The boys continue to be stars helping with the scrubs bags construction. Here Gordon is ironing the umpteenth bag, closely supervised by Betty!

If we haven't been sewing, we've been out on our permitted walk. making the most of the gorgeous weather. I know it's changed yesterday, you can almost hear the plants sighing with relief as they drink up the rainfall.
This is the entry to the west beach, the tide was nearly in (7.9m that day)

The mini dredger was puttering about in the entrance to the harbour - trying to keep the channel clear is a losing battle,

Gordon did manage to break free from the ironing board, lol. This is looking back from the tip of the harbour north to the town. Hard to believe that this was a busy industrial port in the 19th century, coal trains ran on rails all the way down to fill up ships that sailed all around the world.

And in these crazy times flour is a scarce commodity - however our friend Helen is a Cash&Carry member and got us this:
12.5kg!! That'll take some getting through, I think I'll check if any mates want any. Perhaps I can barter some for eggs!!

Enough nonsense for now, hope you're all keeping safe and well. Elizabeth, I'm so glad that you and Alan are improving. xx

See you all next week xxxx

The photos from the harbour are fab, I do envy those of my desker friends who have pretty places to walk! You are doing a great job with the scrubs bags! Hope you have a good week - stay safe! Helen #?

You are both doing such an amazing job with those scrub bags Ja. Glad you have such a beautiful walk nearby. I haven't been out of the house for a fortnight. Stay safe and happy WOYWW. Sarah #2

Happy WOYWW. Well done to you and the boys for the sewing production line. The days do seem to go past quickly. I blink and it is lunchtime! I could just walk on that wonderful sand. Our fields are beautiful and I treasure the peace, but do miss the beaches. It is raining hard here now. The ground really needs it and I am happy to get on with jobs inside, or just sit and watch tv! I have a small quantity of flour in my pantry, but no energy or enthusiasm to actually use it. I bought the ingredients to attempt Welsh Cakes for the first time. Perhaps by next Wednesday I will be able to report back with some photos. Stay Safe. Ali x #1

Ah such lovely views - thanks for sharing them - very uplifting. Nice to see you and Annie have both got a wonderful helper with the sewing. I think I am making isolation gowns for local district nurses etc this week - just waiting for fabric to be dropped off - never a dull moment here too! xx Jo

Making all those scrub bags probably explains why you are looking up and seeing it's 10pm. Well done and always nice to see the other half helping out. Rice seems to be the staple that is often missing on our shelves. Found a 10kgs bag and bought it out of desperation and now think we could be eating rice for months. Beautiful photos of your beach, sky and clouds. Our crazy young people have been invading the local beaches and making headlines again as they get arrested. Now the beaches are closed with concrete blocks. Strange times indeed. Stay safe keep that foot to the trundle/peddle?? what do they call that little foot thing on the sewing machine??

Oh Jan it did make me chuckle to see your bags of quilts arriving on a daily basis...it reminds me of when Jo and I made all those dresses for the African girls...literally 100s of them and the fabrics just kept coming. Just like that magic porrige pot. Keep up the good work. I haven't got large pieces of fabric any more but I sure have used up my fat quarters for head bands and facemasks....its so good to feel useful isn't it?....plus of course I will have a good excuse to buy more stash once it's all over.Keep smiling, we can do this lockdown thing.

Hi Jan. Thanks for your visit - and being so polite and not mentioning that my post this morning is in a muddle. I'm afraid word press wasn't playing properly today - even when I went back and tried to edit the thing!!
Glorious photos from your daily walks. I'm glad your man gets his break from the ironing board. Being watched over like that when he is so busy must be very hard - although... I'm a little disappointed the young lady in question seems to have reverted to a plain long dress - no glam and glitz for the task! Great work on all the scrubs bags - I rather imagine you have now lost count.
Take care all of you. Stay safe. God bless.

Thanks a bunch for commenting on my blog ;) - Denmark wasn't actually that bad touched by the virus - 418 dead and over 100.000 infected - Our Gov closed Denmark hard at the beginning of March and just today talked about slowly opening DK again. So far I haven't got the virus and nor have my friend :) - I see a lot of people do things they never have done before, Like ironing hehe. Men trying to do women things and vice versa. I see others find creative ways to make them through the days. Hopefully, we will remember what is important for the environment AND for the humans :) Thanks again for your sweet comment at my blog!!!

Well done on making the scrub bags. What a stunning place to have to walk. Keep well and safe.

Hi Jan, such a beautiful place to live for your walks, I don't go out for any here, too many dogs about to go alone and husband goes cycling and son not interested, so I stay in. Not so bad really with the painting etc. and I have the garden to sit in if I really want to. I think the flour thing is more to do with a lack of small packaging rather than actual flour, I thing a Morrisons locally is measuring out bags from their big ones. Doesn't bother me as I don't bake! Happy scrub making. Thanks for the visit BJ#17

I certainly understand and can validate the strange confusion of space and time! I call it a “time warp!”We have several! One between my craft room downstairs and the upstairs; another between the house and the car in the driveway. There’s another between our house and town....
Stay well! Happy Wednesday!

That's one heck of a lot of fabric to get through - it's amazing how much fabric, curtains and old bed linen is being stored by people, and this need for it is giving them the perfect excuse to clutter clear! Love the photos of your beautiful area - what a wonderful place to take a walk and clear the worries away. You did well to get such a huge amount of flour - I'm expecting your desk next week to be covered in lots of home made bread, cakes and biscuits!!
Hope you have a good week, stay safe and well my dear gal,

The Jan Cave continues to be a hive of activity, and I'm glad your menfolk are still hard at it helping too! Lovely photos. Thank you for your visit, and I'm glad you like my drawings. I agree about the Celtic knot designs - they do seem to lend themselves very well to different occasions, and also for male cards too. I am pleased with how they've all turned out.

Happy WOYWW,

You are so amazing to be making all those scrub bags! And how wonderful of the guys to help!
Love the photos of the harbour. There's no lakes of any substance near us. I used to love fishing in the lakes and creeks of Wyoming, USA when we lived there.
That's a LOT of flour! I managed to get a 10 pound bag right before they all disappeared here. Have made a few things.
Hope you have a great week and thanks for stopping by!

Lovely desky share sorry I’m late... again... 😁 ah my dear Lunch Lady Jan, your post is a welcome sight for two reasons... firstly doing all of folks who kindly have pop up window box commenting form. Embedded are the bane of my life.. no leave comment, as just don’t work iPad and all that.
Will have to do them on mobile. 😐

I loved seeing your pickies as you chat around your week, your part of Wales is so beautiful. G. is really doing grand job ironing as are you in the sewing... what lovely fabric.. and all that flour, bartering is going on here too!
Eggs sound like a plan. I’ve gotta bake this week and birthday coming up.

Thanks for being a blessing, and may God bless you too, especially in these troubled times, may we look up in faith, not at the mud underneath ! Praying you’re all kept well too!
Hugs, Shaz in Oz.x 😊

It's funny what we are running out of with this quarantine, people thought it would be TP, but it's flour and eggs! I make bread every other day, and so far I've been lucky with the flour, but hubby couldn't get eggs yesterday! He will try again tomorrow. You are certainly keeping busy, and "Ironman" is doing great! Love your wonderful walks, it looks so gorgeous, calm and peaceful! Re my journal, I tend to work in them when something ins going on, a trip, or the recent pandemic. I skipped Christmas altogether, but Easter is there! Thanks for your visit, stay busy, stay safe! I would love to see the list of all the things you have made - you and a friend of mine (plus some more woyww'ers) are doing such a lot of good work at your sewing machines. I raise my hat to you all! And to your helpers. Glad to see Betty is being a little less frivolous at the moment but I am sure she will soon get back to her old self and wear something a little risque.
Have beach envy - right now I could gladly walk down to the edge of the water and smell the beautiful air.
Hugs, Neet 8 xx

I recognize the 'position' at the sewing machine, I too spend a lot of time in that position last week ;) LOVE the beach/harbour photos, I really miss going to the seaside (we don't have a car, I find biking the 10 km to the beach too scary these times and I don't dare to take a bus either...) Sorry I'm late with my visit this week... it's already Saturday, wow! Enjoy your weekend! Hug from Holland, Marit #20

ooh you have an amazing production line for the sewing, I take my hat off to all of you doing such an amazing job.

LOVING the walk photos, such a pretty place and lovely in the sun but also dramatic when the weather is not as sunny, a great way to connect with nature and stretch the bones a bit (especially after all that sewing).
