Blimey, that was the week that was! It included a birthday (mine!), a trip to North Wales to compete in the National Eisteddfod, dismantling the JanCave and having our bathroom ripped out. Nothing like packing everything in eh?!

So the JanCave looks like this at the moment:

It's just handy for the guys to keep their tools and all the new bathroom fitments!  All my stuff is now either in my bedroom or here:

It's been quite nice sitting by the open patio doors sewing away...good exercise too as I keep having to fetch bits and pieces from upstairs, lol!

I'm in the process of making a pegbag for an RNLI shop buddy and have cut all the fabric that Lynne sent me ready for some more cases for the cafe.

The peg bag turned out quite well.

And the cases too - thanks for the fabric Lynne, it's gone really well with the red spot I already had!!

We went on an early birthday trip last Wednesday and the weather was glorious again. A walk (well, climb actually!) to a castle and lunch at The Mansion House Country Hotel, whose grounds had this view...stunning eh?!

And Saturday was the day that Seindorf Arian Crwbin (Crwbin Silver Band) made the long but extremely beautiful trip from the bottom to the top of Wales to compete in the National Eisteddfod. Apologies to FB friends who have seen these pics already...

We started off at the crack of dawn:

They're a good bunch!

Waiting Backstage with some of the crew:

And then we were in action:

Here we are on the Main Pavilion Stage. We played Day of the Dragon, a piece in five movements based on Welsh folk songs...a really good bit of music, I loved it. These pics are taken from the TV coverage as we played live on S4C, the National broadcaster.  The girl on the left is one of our percussionists, a brilliant musician and Champion Welsh Clog dancer, which was good as we're playing Welsh Clog Dance at this moment. She was fantastic and we raised the roof! You can just see me second from the right of the tubas in the back row.

It was amazing to be part of this experience - I wasn't nervous at all, just enjoyed every second!

And the best thing? Crwbin won our section so we're now National Eisteddfod Second Section Champions! Woohoo :-)

And got a very handsome trophy for our efforts. This may have been filled with Prosecco and passed around the band members but I'm not confirming anything......

Needless to say, I had a VERY quiet Sunday!

Have a great week!

Hope the Prosecco lasted long enough for everyone to have a taste Jan. I wish I had known you were going to be on TV I would have recorded things. Wonder if you are available on catch up? Glad you had such a good birthday and I hope that you are back in the Jan Cave soon. Happy WOYWW. Sarah #10

Jan, what a busy time you have had, and a prize to show how well you have done too! So what dizzy heights are you aiming at next?
The sewing looks good too, lots going on with the machine even when your cave has been invaded by workmen.
Thanks for sharing

Good Morning Jan. Looks like you're having a busy time, the whole house gets in an upheaval just to do one room. However, I love your fabrics and the fabulous peg bag. The view looks amazing, specially after looking at rain up here in Scotland. Congratulations on the bands success and winning that fabulous trophy. Have a Good Week. Hugs Rita xxx

Hiya Jan, was fab to see you did so well! Love the pics from your performance. Slowly improving, going to take a couple of weeks to get back to 'normal' though, I think. Love that scenic pic, bet you could have sat there for hours. Love & hugs to you all, Shaz #4 XxXxXx

That seaside fabric is fabulous isn't it, just perfect for goodies for the RNLI. The peg bag turned out well too - love spotty fabric.
So sorry I missed your birthday, I really thought I had written it down in my phone but unless you are like the Queen and have an official one too I must not have. So nice that the weather was lovely for your birthday treat - what a beautiful view. Love it when I find somewhere in the Lake District with stunning views. Missing out this time for Chas's birthday as his usual gift is a night or two away somewhere like the Lakes.
Love the pictures from the Eisteddfod - you look such a jolly and happy bunch and whilst I am here "Congratulations on becoming National Eisteddfod Second Section Champions!" Bet the clog dancing was amazing alongside the music - no wonder it raised the roof.
I forgot to put my lap tray on last week, I just knew you would like it - hares? If I had lots of lolly I would buy all the pottery in that range too - plus the oven gloves etc. It is so nice and it is grey which I love. Oh, and I would buy you the complete set too.
Hugs, Neet 1 xxx
ps love that photo of you - says it all - what a lovely lady xx

Well, I may have seen those photos before, Jan, but they are well worth a second look. Your smile would light up a dark room. Congratulations to you all - that cup is well deserved! I think I'd be sorely tempted to make the dining room the summer sewing room - I can see that it must be so nice to sit with the doors open like that, especially when there's a heatwave. Wow! Congratulations! It looked like an awesome event. The National Anthem is lovely, as is the language. It was fairly easy to read along with the words, surprisingly!
I need a good emptying out of my craft room, some day I will disappear in there and they will never find me! I'm sure everything will be back in order (even better!) when all is done. Your projects are gorgeous as usual! Have a wonderful week, Lindart #23

Oh wow, Jan, what an experience, and congratulations on winning such an awesome trophy!!! I loved seeing the photos and just wished there had been a video too. You all look so happy. I love the nautical fabric for your latest glasses cases. Always something of interest in your posts - gives me a lift every week!

Thank you for your visit and I'm glad you liked my pantry! It only came about because of the dry rot under the old cupboard. If we ever moved house, a pantry would be a must-have. I grew up with pantries and the parish houses we lived in throughout our marriage till my hubby retired didn't have a pantry so I felt very deprived! I recycle all my hubby's instant coffee jars (I don't drink it) as they've got great lids with a seal. I've now run out and had to buy some more Mason jars recently! - and there's no more shelf room for them! I think I shall have to knock through the wall into the sitting room and make that a nice big pantry.

Sorry I’m late! so proud of your accomplishments, Eisteddford, the volunteering and generous donations you make, it’s no wonder the figures have changed so much. Just the sort of statistical reward you like! Do like the fabric that Neet gave you.xxx

It's great to be able to be creative, no matter what space you have to use. I'd love to hear your band play sometime, but it may be hard, considering I'm on this side of the Atlantic. Congratulations on your win and happy belated WOYWW! #26
