I'M PUTTING MY EGGS IN A BASKET...
(Apologies for the stupid lyrics last week, normal service has been resumed....)
It's been another very whizzy week, with most of it spent up in Wrexham with the band as we competed in the Welsh Regional Finals (we came 8th) Consequently very little crafting has been done.
I got a second hand 'new' phone last week and needed a cover for it so whipped this up:
I really like these fabrics, they're so cheerful - unfortunately that's the end of the FQs. I can't remember where they came from otherwise I'd get a couple more!
And crochet is my go-to when watching telly in the evenings when I am home - another stripey blanket, it's mindless but addictive!
My friend Mary (WI and gin buddy) keeps chickens and brought me some eggs when she popped around, they were so pretty, I had to take a pic!
The brown speckled ones are from her new hens, Burford Browns - aren't they pretty? They look like they've got freckles :-)
My brother has been in Spain for a couple of weeks, touring around and he sent me a few pics from Seville:
Ooooh, look, a Spanish shop of delights! In the market, I think...
An interesting shop eh? With sooooooooo much gorgeous temptation......
...and there were two floors....I could get lost in there!
It's probably just as well that I wasn't there, lol! So much fabric, so little time........
Hope you have a great week ahead - keeeeeeeep crafting :-D

Love the phone case, I envy you all that can whip up something with sewing.
Love the colours in your crochet, what are you making?
Those mottled eggs are really cute. Mine are all white or brown.
Love that shop with all the fabrics, what choices
With havin so much written content do you ever run into any issues of
plagorism or copyright violation? My blog has a lot of unique content I've either authored myself or outsourced but it appears a lot
of it is popping it up all over the web without my permission. Do you know any methods to help
protect against content from being stolen? I'd genuinely appreciate it.
Your brother knows you well(obviously but you know what I mean) - that shop is just gorgeous! I know few other deskers who will drool over it too. Looks like it is in a fab building, too. Helen #3
I am not sure if it was kind or mean of your brother to send you such an array of fabric pictures Jan lol. I would probably have spent far too long in there too. Happy WOYWW. Sarah #4
That looks like a Julian Lopez fabric shop. Not cheap but if you want something special that's the shop. Love going at Christmas as they have lovely Christmas materials and kits. Nothing to show on my desk but have been crocheting blankets like you. (Craftyani)
Happy WOYWW. I love the fabrics in your phone case too. My knitting seems to have gone into early Spring retirement already. I used to knit in front of the tv, but once I settle down on the sofa at night I only have energy to concentrate on whatever programme we are watching. Two floors of Spanish fabric heaven. We should have a WOYWW trip! Ali x #9
Hi Jan, Love the phone case. Shame you can't get more of the fabric.
Well done on 8th position in the contest.
I do crochet or colouring when watching telly. I don't need a blanket, but when it is done, I'll give it to the charity shop. Hopefully they can get a few pennies for it.
If you got to go into that shop, you'd come out with so much stuff, you have a lot of excess baggage to pay for:)
I'm not taking part in WOYWW, as I am busy and don;t like it when I can't get round to those that post on my blog.
Hope you have a lovely day. Sue
Oh that market is amazing and yes I agree with you I could get lost in there....and would need extra baggage allowance to fly home!
Hugs,

I have thoroughly enjoyed your post this morning! I love the phone case and the pretty crochet and of course those lovely eggs! Then I scroll a bit farther and just look at all that fabric. I don't think I've ever seen a shop that large and so full of lovely pieces! Wow what choices! Happy WOYWW!
Hi Jan, I love that phone case fabric too - still, sure there are plenty more great patterns out there!! (Seville is really nice, even without a fab fabric store!) I really like the idea of the ax making course - sounds great fun, though not sure I'd be able to produce the appropriate amount of 'wellie' to make anything happen. (non sequitur - obviously I had to go and check out your previous post lol). Happy WOYWW, Cindy #15
Hi Jan. Love your style! I always smile when you say you just whipped up something :-) - takes me hours of planning and usually doesn't look like it was in my head 🙂 maybe I should just do it and not overthink!
Well done re the competition!
Pretty eggs indeed!
Your blanket is looking very colourful and cheery. Anne X #14
Hiya Jan, it does indeed look as if you'd have been in your element there! The brush cleaner you put liquid soap/washing up liquid on, the scrub the bristles over the bumpy surface. Well done on the competition, and I think I wouldn't want to break those brown eggshells. Love & hugs to you all, Shaz. XxXx
Ooh Jan, quite frankly I'd pay the flight just to visit that one shop - it looks like absolute heaven! I love the phone case too - such pretty fabric and perfectly matched of course. Congratulations on coming 8th, you are such a clever gal!
Have a great week,
Hugs, Diana x #17
Hello Jan! Oh my, fabric shopping is high class in Spain! I could spend hours there and I don't even sew...... but I DO have a nice little collection of fabric. I don't know what that's about but.....
Your phone case is cute. I like the curved front; it adds a cute little style. The crocheting is beautiful. I usually knit spa cloths while watching t.v. but lately I've been reading books on oil painting.
Have a wonderful crafty day!
Hugs, Kay (28)
I think your brother is cruel sending you those photographs, I would love to have a look round that shop but then it's better that we are not there Lol! Looks like you've been busy again this week too. Have a lovely week and a happy woyww, Angela x11x
That must be torture to see photos of all that lovely fabric, just out of reach. As far as crochet is concerned, I treated myself at the NEC to a book of animal patterns at the Toft stand, plus the wool to complete one of the designs. I enjoy crochet in the evening while listening to the tv, and watching the odd but that sounds good. Have a good week. xxx Maggie #19
Look at all that gorgeous fabric! Love fresh laid eggs - takes me back to my childhood and my great aunt who kept bantams and we had to find the eggs. Love the phone case. Thanks for sharing. Take care and have a lovely week. With love & God Bless. Caro x (#30)
Oh I definitely think we need a trip to Seville!! Not that I really need more fabric of course. I love the little phone case - great fabric - will check out W & T in case you bought it there! xx Jo
What a lovely setting for a fabric shop! I've discovered a little fabric shop in my town as well - they have so many fat quarters! I was salivating over them so they asked me to leave (just kidding!) - seriously though I told the lady I would buy all of it if I could even though I don't sew. She looked at me strange LOL. I just love the patterns and textures so much! I allow myself to buy a FQ every time I go to town - but it's so hard to choose! I wish I had your talent to just whip up a little holder like that - I find straight lines a bit challenging haha! The blankie looks cute too. Have a lovely week, Jan! zsuzsa #22
I've just made the same comment about being addicted to fabric and not actually doing any sewing LOL - I'm glad I'm not alone!
Hi Jan, so I'm thinking by now that you will have booked a holiday to Seville so you can visit the fabric shop?? I love that you "whip up" a phone case that would take some of us forever to make, and others wouldn't even attempt it! Have a lovely week Heather x #32
WOW! What a fabric shop!! Love the speckled brown eggs! Bet they taste oh so much better than store bought. Great phone case! Have a great week!

That is an amazing fabric store your brother shared with you Jan :)
I love the brown speckled eggs, I don't think I have ever seen those before. ( we have chickens here) :) ~Stacy #27
Ooohhhhh... I could be lost for hours in a shop like that too! I love the photo of the eggs. When my dad was a little boy, he collected eggs of all kinds of birds - he always kept those and when I was young I was in ooh and aah over the small blue ones (don't know which bird they came from...) I don't think he has those boxes with eggs anymore (will try to remember and ask him...) I just got a new crochet pattern from a friend, how to crochet a 'granny' with circles and waving patterns... but crocheting has to wait 'till I find me some nice wool/colors... Thanks for stopping by my blog the other day, enjoy the rest of the week and your weekend. Hug from Holland, Marit #20
Good morning, Jan. Thanks for the visit! Just so you know, several of us are drooling at the pics from your brother. Wowsers. Like Marit, I could spend hours in that shop. I get to Hancocks warehouse about once very three years. Hubby knows ahead of time it's going to be a long visit. LOL Hancocks is about 3 hours for me one way. hehe. Congrats on being in the finals. 8th isn't so bad in the grand scheme of things! You got to be in the finals! I need to crochet more. Challenge is that's the only time my 2 large cats get lap time. nope, they are not spoiled. Hugs and Creative Blessings! Kel
How on earths would they keep track of stock in a rambling place like that, but oh Lunch Lady Jan such beautiful architecture. I too get new second hand phones! Handy when someone upgrades aren’t they?
