PYT: PRETTY YOUNG THING

It's so short and sweet this week, it's positively supersonic strawberry (first thing that came into my head, don't ask why....) I've just realised as well, that this is my 400th post. Blimey, all that tomfoolery, friends past and present and the odd bit of crafting. I suspect there may be more....... ;-)

The desk:
Triangles of fabric and the ribbon box - yep, it can only mean one thing....Bikini time!! Nah, only kidding....

Shaz, your patented super-system of ribbon winding onto cereal packet cut-outs is still working :-D

Given free rein with the colours, my instinct told me to go apple green and cherry pink and Springtime. I can't show you the end result cos I'm still only halfway through!

More camera phone pics from my walks:
There is a lot of coal dust in one area of the beach which washes out onto the sand - then the sea plays with it and creates some really interesting patterns. Honestly, if you'd seen the looks from some of the other folks when I was taking this...but I knew you'd appreciate it!

If it wasn't for that bleached out shell, you'd think it was a lunar surface huh?

Weird and wonderful - me or the blog? Ah, that would be telling......

Hi Jan, The bunting colours are fab.

I do that with some ribbon. I also use small bulldog clips to keep ribbons together in colour groups. Then they go inside a large clear zip bag.

Love the photos. Until I saw the shell, I couldn't make out the scale of the photo, so yes, it did look like another planet:)

Happy WOYWW

Hiya Jan, wow, 400, I must look and see where I am, not thought about that. Love the photos, that is amazing. Good to see it still working, a real cheapskate me, lol. Why buy what you can do for yourself, I say. Love and hugs to you all, Shaz #6 XxXx

Those photos should be your inspiration for some creative embroidery - just imagine the wonderful textures you could get there. It is the sort of thing I photograph but mainly from a walk in the woods (think lichen etc).
Your desk looks super smart today and the word 'triangle' to me says one thing with you - and it is not bikini - it is bunting! You are the bestest bunting babe I know.

ps the fire is nowhere near me but it is awful to see it on the screen. This is a price we have to pay I guess but I would have thought "up north" would have been wet enough from previous days for it not to happen. Just shows.

Morning Jan - looking at those beach photos my first thought was you'd gone into something like textile embroidery - you are right, we do appreciate them, just stunning. I'm not sure up to the challenge you are suggesting for 2019 - there is already the WIP box challenge, the WIP bag challenge, and the getting the Christmas cards done by the end of March challenge. None of them are going that well I'm afraid!! Love n hugs, happy Wednesday, Cindy #17

Jan I love those beach photos, the second one looks like a mountain range, amazing.
I like your neat ribbon box, I wouldn't dare show mine, it's a whole drawer full and not very tidy, your space looks amazingly tidy too.
Have a great week

Bikini time, LOL! You're so funny! Amazing textures in those photos - indeed, it could be extraterrestrial. Happy 400th Jan - may there be many more to come to entertain us! zsuzsa #18

Oh yes, I like you too Jan! For the love of beaches and water we share. The love for Sashiko we share. And apparently for the music-preferences we share. I love Joe Cocker's "She came in through the bathroom window" - and yes, most of the sixties/seventies rock (Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd) but my all time favorite artist is still Leonard Cohen... oh, don't make me start, this comment gets way too long! I must win the lottery and come over to 'your island' and meet you all one day! Did the sun come out at your place too today? I sure hope so! We had a sunny Spring-like day here with 17 degrees Celcius! They say it will get colder as of tomorrow so I made good use of today by spending most of it outside. Creating will have to wait for grey days. I do hope your day was as good as mine. Thanks for your visit this morning, happy woyww, hug from sunny Holland. Marit #15

That first pic of the sand is so weird. I couldn't make out at first what it was. Very very neat:)

I GUARANTEE there will be more. Of the tomfoolery if nothing else! And no, Kathryn Frantz got it wrong...I will send you her vital statistics! Fascinating about the coal dust. First pic looks like mermaid hair. Second pic made me realise how big an area it actually is. Sorry I’m late. Someone rang me and I got distracted.
