STOP RIGHT NOW, THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

Now, don't faint but.... there's been some actual crafting at LLJ Towers this week! I know, astonishing huh?!

The JanCave will be back in action soon but I had to sneak in there this week as I had a commission to fulfil.

The bare minimum of equipment was put in so I could quickly whizz up a doorstop for my mate Helen.

It had to feature the cupcake fabric as Helen is a keen Cookery competitor at lots of local shows and has won at the Royal Welsh show (and that is no mean feat let me tell you!)  The Squish test passed with flying colours :-D

I haven't started the Sashiko yet but got some fat quarters and matching flosses out to have a play. I dunno if I'll use these but I had a very happy ten minutes sorting out colours....

I'm getting a bit low on cards for the WI too so printed off a couple of local pics to make some quick and easy cards to sell.

Apologies for late replies to comments last week as we went to Winchester to pack up and clean my son's uni flat...we just about managed to squish everything into the car! We stopped en route to catch up with my bestie for a couple of hours - it wasn't long enough..the selfie I took was appalling so hopefully Julia's was better!! Lol

Short(er) this week, hope you folks all have a good one xxxxxxx

What a great make Jan, i'm using anything I can to hold open every door to let air in during this heat wave. Your friend looks over the moon with it.
You've sorted the ingredients for the Sashiko, look forward to seeing what you create with it all.

Hi Jan, I can't wait to see how you get on with the Sashiko. Hoping we get to see the real thing in September. Marit has certainly started something here lol. Glad you managed a brief visit with Julia. Have a great week. Sarah #13

Well your friend certainly looks pleased with her new doorstop - and rightly so - and it passed the Squish Test!
Ooh your 'maybe' fabrics for the Sashiko look fabulous. Reminds me of the spotted papers I have - they come out, have a stroke and go back. Why?
What better thing could have prevented you from visiting last week - your son is more important than a few comments.
Have a good week, keep smiling that lovely smile of yours.
Hugs, Neet 3 xx

Hi there, you quick commenter on my blogpost today ;) I love all the floss colors with that fabric, sorting out is fun to do isn't it?! The jacket I altered had a striped texture so I used those 'stripes' to get even stitches... if you like the pattern to be neat I think you better draw the lines first. But 'going wild' might be more fun, never mind even stitches, just dive in! I haven't started on my own jean jacket yet, I need to order more colors floss and it's just too hot to start a project like that so I will wait a little until it cools down... have a great week and stay cool Jan! Warm (!) hug from Holland, Marit #21

Hi Jan, so nice to see that you're back in the JanCave, even if it is only for a little while. The doorstop is excellent and Helen looks delighted. Love the FQs and floss - look forward to seeing your practice pieces. I like that you are using your own photos to make cards - you take such beautiful shots. I've done it myself occasionally - should do it more often. Glad the sports/men toppers have done so well. Have a lovely week. Hugs, Elizabeth x #24

Just popped in to see what you are up to as I didn't post for WOYWW this week. I love the doorstop - great fabric - I still have a bit left! Your spotty fabric and matching threads will be perfect - half the fun is the choosing/matching isn't it. Good idea to use local scenes for your cards and you will have some fab photos to pick from I am sure! xx Jo

What a good sport Helen is to pose with the newly created doorstop! That photo wouldn't look out of place in a craft magazine! I think it's a brilliant idea to use photos for cards like that - definitely a quick fix and one I could do with myself! Cleaning out your son's uni flat must have been a bitter sweet experience - the end of an era! Thanks Jan for your visit earlier! Have a fantastic Sunday! zsuzsa #12
