COME BACK AND FINISH WHAT YOU STARTED....
Last week was particularly bonkers, this week has been less frenetic but has still been filled with quite a bit going on.
Let me explain.
After making a mess in the JanCave, I spent a happy hour tidying up and sorting out my stash. The fabrics are slowly diminishing but the wools seem to magically multiply and it's not even that I'm buying loads more, people keep giving it to me!
The shelves have been slightly rearranged so that I can fit in the box of cards that I take to WI to sell for fundraising - haven't done the box of ribbons yet, they're still a rats' nest :-D
Then Lynne asked if I could make a mini cushion for her to take on journeys - her cracked rib is still very sore:
I found some wadding and rolled it up then made an inner pillow case to keep it in the same shape. I used some of the grey FQs that Margaret Glitter and Glue sent recently.
Then I covered it in the same hare fabric that I used last time. As the fabric was out, I thought I'd make a little zippy purse to go with it. some grey spotty fabric was suitable for the lining.
Et voila! Hope Lynne likes them :-D I think I've got to replace this fabric - oh dear, another trip to the lovely quilting shop in Mumbles might be in order *grin*
And organised chaos reigns on the dining table, I was sorting out all the bits Elizabeth sent recently into Male/Teenager/Diva categories. Ready for another card making session!
Great fun was had on Saturday - my band entered a big contest in Cardiff and we came second, beating some arch rivals. Everyone was really thrilled and consequently we ended up in the local pub:
It was a fun few hours with folk who have become really good friends over the past year. There might have been quite a few whiskies involved....:-D
Have a great crafty week everyone!

That grey fabric is just beautiful and what a fab cushion and bag you have made. Well done on the band competition. Helen #?
I did chuckle over the need to re visit your local fabric shop. The hare fabric is rather gorgeous though, i can see why you'd want some more. Well done on coming second; I take it gin is for every day and whisky for special occasions lol? Have a great week. Sarah #39 this week.
That fabric really is smashing, i'm glad I do not know where you got it from. Great makes and your sewing area looks a very happy place (i'm currently using the ironing board so I can use my machine!)
Congrats to you and the band on coming second, lovely to see so many happy faces under one roof!
Thank you for sharing WOYWW Tracey #36 this week (I think!!)
That grey fabric is gorgeous and I love what you have done with it Jan. Yes, my wool bag is just like yours - keeps topping itself up - so I have to keep on knitting the little dollies - think I am up to 17 now! xxx Jo
Hi Jan, I am drooling over your stash of fabrics, wool, ribbons, etc.
Lynn is a lucky girl to have the little cushion and zip bag in that fab material.
Lots of lovely cards to come out of your crafting stash.
Well done on coming second and especially beating some rivals.
Happy WOYWW

Morning gorgeous gal! Many congratulations on the second place. Whisky, huh? Gin is kept for different sorts of events??? Everything looks just SO much fun in your end of the world - all that activity going on. Do you now eat meals from a tray on your knees?? I frequently have to when every work space is full... Know what I found out when looking for the route to Chris and Adrian's new home?? A fabric shop - in their village!! Just might have to take a sneaky look there when over next week - see what they do... and who might like to see it...
Take care. God bless.

HI Jan, hey well done on winning second place, looks like you have a lovely bunch of friends there :o) I'm sure Lynne will be well chuffed with her custom cushion and the little bag, they look gorgeous. Glad you're still enjoying the papercrafting too! Annie C #44 (ish?)
Another busy week for you, who said retirement was easy!
Congratulations to the Band - well deserved I say.
Take care and stay warm
Christine currently #49 but open to change
It’s just like that magic porridge pot Jo talks about....we keep knitting and sewing but our stash never goes down 😀😀😀😀 I’ve made 31 bags for Marion but my fabric boxes are still full hehe. Well done to you all for coming 2nd...whiskeys were well deserved.
Hugs,

Whisky Jan? I am shocked! Thought you were more of a Gin girl like me LOL.
Love that hare fabric and not at all surprised you have to go back for more - I do hope they still have it as it is gorgeous and I love seeing you make things with it.
With all this papercrafting sneaking in I think your Jan Cave is going to be bursting at the seams before long.
Hugs & Thanks for sorting the master-blog out.

Well done, doesn't everyone end up in the pub winners to celebrate losers to drown their sorrows? Love the pillow a friend in our group has had a heart op and I suggested we buy a small pillow for her, (notice I didn't offer to make though). Materials difficult the purchase here. Ani #3
I love the fabric you’ve chosen, what a thoughtful gift xx
A pub, music, friends and whiskey... that's the good life!!! I love how you ordered and tidied all your stuff Jan, I'm doing just that at the moment after we moved (glad to be back!) Happy woyww, love from Holland, Marit #23
The cushion and pencil case are great, thanks! The mini cushion is wonderful for if I'm out, as I can discreetly hold it against my ribs without looking like I'm out with my comforter (tho really I am ;) ). The fabric is wonderful. I'll share a painting inspired by it, when I'm done. Have a good week, all, love Lynne XX
Wholly Molly Jan what a fantastic post! First, I love your tidied up shelf it looks so organized. But I love that you are making your friend a pillow and the fabric is so cute! As if that wasn't enough you topped off your post with a 2nd place win in a music contest. Congrats! Do you sing or play an instrument?
Looks like you are having a lovely week. Thanks for visiting me today.

Loving the display on your shelf - the canvas with the beach huts has immediately caught my eyes. I've been wanting to make something like that for ages! Congrats on your second place - looks like a happy bunch of musicians with you at the head of the table. The beaming faces must have something to do with the Jan effect - spreading happiness and smiles! You certainly found your tribe so soon after moving! Thanks for your visit yesterday - I'm always so happy to hear from you. Enjoy the rest of the week! xx zsuzsa #16

Hi Jan. Very late visiting but just catching up with what you've been up to lately and imagine my surprise when I spotted exactly the same fabric on your desk as I have on mine....yes, I have been doing some sewing, a little quilt and it has that fabric in it, great taste hey!!! Hopefully I'll be desking next week, I've been working full time and finding it hard to keep up with WOYWW. Hope all is good in lovely Wales
Hugs Lisa xx
Comming back from a short trip with my husband, I like to visite you again. You are a really buzzy bee! Sewing for a friend - great work. Congrats to you and your band!
Eva from Austria
I love a bit of tidying/reorganising of stash. Since I decided to start knitting again, my small supply of yarn seems to have multiplied - and now I have 2 bags of it. In the next few days it will be getting a home (will find the door-hanging sock storage thingy that I used to use). Perhaps we can go to Mumbles together sometime. I love that shop too - and the icecream parlour at Mumbles is always worth a visit. Ali x
