IT DON'T MATTER IF YOU'RE BLACK OR WHITE...

We've had two sets of visitors in the past week which has been wonderful but busy so not that much crafting has taken place. I did get out all all the things that I've made for the RNLI Open Day (22nd July) in order to box them up to take to the relevant people.

There are tote bags, drawstring bags, zippy bags, doggy bandannas, hearts, tissue holders, sunglasses cases and carrier bag tubes - I hope they're useful for raising some cash.

The sunglasses pattern and tutorial came off Pinterest!

The doggy bandannas are folded and labelled....

This was for Son No 2 however, he wanted a doorstop to stop his bedroom door from creaking in the breeze. It's basic but functional...bit like me really :-D

My nephew Matt came to stay with his wife Kim and her mum, also Kim, who are from New York. They had a good couple of days exploring the area. I'd shown Mama Kim my crochet blanket-in-progress and, bless her, she insisted on finding a wool shop when the three of them were out and bought me these:

Posh wool!! It's Merino and incredibly soft. Mama Kim said she hoped I'd make a shawl or scarf for myself. That'll be my Autumn project for sure. How thoughtful a gift was that? As fast as I'm trying to clear my stash, more appears - it's the yarny equivalent of the Magic Porridge Pot, lol!!!

A couple of pics to finish with - Mr LLJ belongs to a local photography society who arrange some interesting trips out - this was last Wednesday's to a National Trust Property.

There were lots of deer enjoying the cool of the evening but the main intention was to see...........

Badgers!! This little one was muscling in to get its fair share of peanuts....

The one on the right was using its paw to shovel in as much food as it could...there were jays and wood mice helping themselves to the feast while 10 photographers sat in a hide. Better than tv huh?!

This is my favourite shot - G really enjoyed the evening and can't wait for the next one!

Have a great week xxxxxxxxx

What an array of fabulous photographs. Love the badgers but then I love the deer too. Can fully understand DH waiting eagerly for the next trip.
That is a lovely photograph of you two with your visitors. One for the album certainly. Do you get more visitors now you have moved than you did previously? Just wondering. Certainly a very thoughtful gift of that gorgeous soft wool. Something to give you pleasure whilst making and to give you pleasure whilst wearing. Must remember that one, greayt idea.
Have a lovely week, one closer to the crop.
Hugs, Neet 1 xx

Lovely photos, Jan! If that's what your desk looks like when "not that much crafting has taken place" what does it look like when you're on a roll, LOL? Basic but functional - I can very much identify with that! Me and hubby often compare ourselves to our old Volvo - the basic model - no gimmicks but reliable! Loving all your makes - any K9 will be proud to sport those bandanas! How very thoughtful of your visitors to buy you some wool to keep you going! Lovely group photo! Enjoy your week! zsuzsa #18

Your made goodies look wonderful - such bright and colourful fabrics. You are SO talented! I bet they will make a lot of money.

I'm jealous of your husband being able to view and photograph such beautiful creatures. I am getting better at my photography though no clubs around here.

I haven't been very crafty lately (mainly taking photos!) so no desk to show. I wanted to visit though.

Have a great week

Sounds like the two of you are now firmly rooted in Wales! The animal watching looks like to much fun! We do a lot of that in our front yard with all the varieties of bird, squirrels, chipmunks, and rabbits! No badgers though, I don't even think we have them here. Your goodies are sure to help raise lots of money, Pinterest is a wonderful thing, isn't it? Thanks for sharing, Lindart #35

Hello my dear friend!
Oh, how nice that Mama Kim bought you some lovely yarn -- and insist you using it to make yourself something! A shawl is a wonderful idea.
The eyeglass case is adorable. I will have to check your pinterest account - what is your name there?
Your hubby's photography expedition sounds like a lot of fun! What a great idea to put nuts out to see who shows up. I may try that in the mountains here. My luck would be a bear. A few have been spotted in town. Oh my...
I'm visiting late this week!! Today is my last day on the job and I'm taking advantage!
