WOYWW 259

IT'S THE FINAL COUNTDOWN.....

Only three days to go until the Crop - but they are sure going to be action packed....
Shopping, cooking, setting up.

But it'll all be worth it when the Deskers arrive on Saturday morning :-)

I've been making one last bag - I saw this fabric in my fav shop in Marlborough and had to buy a metre...you know, just to try it :-)
I think it's my favourite so far....in fact, I've already got an order for one plus the other for the Crop, so I'm just going to have to go back to get some more to make one for ME!!
Look at the state of that....dreadful! Shaz Silverwolf and her hubby are supposed to be in this room at the weekend, so I decided to have an hour sorting out!
So, all the fabric is being folded and stashed in the RUB....
Oooh, how pleasing is that?  Well, it makes me happy anyway!

That's it because this week has been bonkers with both sons taking exams, the band has been busy and the beautiful weather has meant a little light gardening (flame throwers may or may not have been used....)

But I wanted to finish with someone else's work.

Lily, who is a young friend of mine, has been doing textiles at school. This is what she made....
How amazing is this dragon?? Lily is only in Year 8...( that's 12-13 years old for non UK readers). I wish I could have been this good at the same age!  I predict further advances in textiles....maybe even making it her career one day.

Have a great week - and I'll apologise in advance for the copious Crop photos in the next post!!

Goodness. That's a gorgeous bag. I can see why people would want one. I love birds and birdcages, so this truly caught my eye.

Other than picking up the fabric, all those "goodies" on the bed suggest you will have a delightful charity auction at the crop.

I know some adults who sell on Etsy who don't sew as well as Lily. She is a child prodigy, I suspect. And I expect copious amounts of crop photos next week. After all, I live vicariously.

No number yet, because Julia is still snoozing. Have a great WOYWW and super crop, too.

Oh, that little dragon is so cool. It makes me happy to think that sewing at school can produce projects like this. My experience was very different! You already know that I love that birdie fabric and the tote looks gorgeous. Looking forward to seeing you on Saturday.

Oh clever Lily..crikey! I make no predictions as to a career, but I hope that she has a lifelong pleasure from her sewing skills....hobby or job! I think it's very generous of you to clear up before the Silverwolfs arrive. After all, you don't want to be giving Doug the opportunity to brag about sleeping with several bags!

Can't wait to see you!! Will get there early no doubt, may have to ask for some help. Am bring my wheelchair, a) it's comfy for me to sit in & b) I need to not walk much if I'm going to be ok to drive there & back so I will need some help cos Lisa who is coming with me has a bad back so won't be able to lift chair (no sure till on the day if she can lift out of car but not push me) out of car or push me! So I'm going to have to rely on everyone's kindness & support. Hope no one minds. I'm loving your bag & I spy fabric with writing on, I love it. Enjoy your day. Take care lovely. Zo xx 50

Hi LLJ yes it was good to see you too, big hug and thanks for dragging yourself away from the sewing, that bag is the best so far. But I'm sorry the dragon stole the show, shame she didn't enter the sewing bee she would have won sure ... Maybe next year.
Don't work too hard on Saturday enjoy the day I'll be thinking of you all having fun :-)))

Jan, if I were there I'd go food shopping with you and make my fabulous pasta salad for the crop!! I have no doubt your food will be wonderful. Please take pictures at the crop so we Americans can feel like we were there. Don't forget to take a pic of cute Helen cropping on the floor, and you and Julia!! And take a photo of your food. Wow, I sound bossy. I just love you all and know you are going to have a wonderful time. I'm so glad your garden is coming in too--wish I could see gorgeous England right now. While my back is better, I am still babying myself a bit and trying not to over-do it. But I'm having a much better week. I'll pray your energy holds up during this fun, busy time and that it all comes together smoothly. Hugs! Happy WOYWW! Sandy Leigh #22

Just a few more sleeps now - can't wait! But why must you tempt me with bag after bag?? Every one more luscious than the last. Love the dragon - that takes me right back to DS and Eragon. He LOVED that book at 10 - funnily he tried to read the last one and said it was so badly written he never finished it LOL! I did TRY to tell him he should red The Dragonriders of Pern instead....but at least he was (and still is) reading.

I'm babbling - see you soon

Happy near 5 year WOYWW!

I have to say your young friend has taken center stage even over the pleasing aspect of all that neatly folded material which made my OCD heart sing, not to mention that tote which is to die for! That dragon does not look like a 12-year-old made it. I'm astonished! How exciting it will be to see what happens to her in the future with that kind of talent!

Have an absolute blast at the Crop, LLJ, which I know you will do. Kiss Julia flat on the mouth and tell her that's from me! Oh, but please God, make sure someone gets their camera lined up first!! Thanks for the visit to me! Happy WOYWW hugs, Darnell #29
