(Artist: Los del Rio)

Short and sweet...reet petite...this week!
I was going to give my first ever crochet blanket away...but I can't! I just love the colours so much - it's perfect for a snuggle-under. I didn't mind the sewing together too much and I enjoyed doing this edging too....

Isn't it cute? I followed a free tutorial over at Attic 24. What an inspiring blog this is, full of colour and fab tutorials for crochet. I've started some mini blocks with the left over yarns and am definitely going to give the next one away....Promise!

What else? I was a very lucky gal again this week with lots of lovely things arriving...

Julia gave me a metal sewing machine for hanging keys on (or something crafty!), an ATC arrived from the fantabulous Sandy Leigh Johnson and a gorgeous tag from Kim Young...thank you so much, Ladies, they are much appreciated :-)

And some hand-me-down jewellery from a friend who had a sort-out!  My absolute favourite colours of all time.....

And last but not least, a photo of Mr and Mrs LLJ and G3 at Morti and Mr B's wonderful wedding!
We had such a ball. Where else could you have seen Medieval archers, Supergirl, Steampunk characters and Batman doing the Macarena?? Lol.  Thanks Julia, for taking this fab family shot for us (well actually, she took about 30...talk about being snap happy....Mario Testino, watch out!!)

See you next week!

Keep this blanket and make another one to give away! My gran made each grandchild a single bed size one with all her left over wool, all joined together with black, very striking, my son now has it and loves it. Great photo too, I do love a dress up event. #49

Can't believe that's your first attempt at crochet! It's wonderful! Mine was rather pathetic, but I perservered and bought a couple of books to help! I am currently in the middle of a 'throw' but it's just one giant 'Granny' square! It's about all I can do for now!

Happy WOYWW

I can see why you wouldn't want to give away your blanket - especially after all the hard work stitching it together - thats the bit I don't like! I think I recognise some the beads in that necklace - I used them on my curtain tie backs in my bedroom! - my favourite colur too!!

What a super pic of you three. You all look amazing. From the photos I've seen it looks like it was a fab day. Yep I don't do mess, well I do but then I have to tidy so leaving stuff out to dry annoys me but needs must! Love your blanket and don't blame you keeping it it's lush! Take care Zo xx 69

Your crochet blanket is fabulous. Not surprised you want to keep it. I love Lucy's Blog. I have just made some squares following one of her tutorials. They have now gone to USA to be part of a blanket for a lady with lung cancer.

I'm sorry I didn't visit last week.I did link then went back to start visiting my link had disappeared. Intended then to just visit a few of ones I follow regularly but was so tied up with helping mum I didn't manage it. Anne x #65 (hopefully :-) )

I'm not WOYWWing this week. The brain, and the mojo, have gone on strike. Slept for three hours on the sofa yesterday evening, then went to bed!

Having seen those crocheted squares in real life, I'm not surprised you're going to keep your blanket - it's BEAUTIFUL. You'd better hide it next time we come over! Hehehehehehe

Thank you all so much for all your hard work at the wedding. I'm glad you enjoyed it as guests as well. We'd like you and Gordon to come over for a meal one night, as you were supposed to stay for dinner on the day of the wedding as our way of thanking you, so we still owe you for that. The photos are fabulous...

Your crochet blanket is beyond gorgeous! I am all about those purples--you made the perfect color choices. Don't give that thing away! It makes me want to have another go at crochet squares. I'm going to check that tutorial, maybe that will help me stop crocheting in a circle! I adore you soul sister because you always make me laugh! So, yes, I made the envelope on my doohickey! I tell you, when I get that thing out and start making envelopes, I can't stop! So now I'm even more of a scrapbook paper shopaholic, because I know I can also make envelopes with it all! My next quest is to get the new Big Shot that's just come out from Sizzix, and here's why. It's ideal for quilt making, not just paper. So now I'm on a mission to save up and get it! Hee hee! It's good to have a mission. Now, why are your weddings so fun over there? I love that photo! I'm on the Wills and Kate babywatch now too. I can't wait for little Alexandra or Victoria to arrive--I'm already wishing for a girl! Hugs to you dearest! I've got baking to do today as we're having the big cookout and fireworks at my sister's house tomorrow! Happy WOYWW! Sandy Leigh #6

That reminds me of the wedding of my daughter and Shaz's son, which was mediaeval with everyone dressed in costume, a jester, minstrels and the Black Knight from Warwick Castle. When you look at photos of weddings like that, they never date, because they are already dated and great fun. I love your blanket, and I would never have been able to part with it either. Thanks for your visit today. Apparently there has been a lot of problems with bees getting into houses this year. The bees I had in my craft room last year were very different, but I have only had a couple this year. Have a great week. xx Maggie #3

I love your post today. The Macarena takes me back to our first Spanish holiday the year the song hit the charts. Our boys were little and loved joining in every night at the children's entertainment area. There was a courtesy bus from our camp site to the beach, and the driver sang it very loudly on every trip!
the crocheted blanket is so pretty and just perfect for wrapping round knees in the winter. They are essential out here where it is often colder in the house than outside. Kate x #113

What fun friends you have!! Great wedding garb...I bet it was just a blast! Your blanket is just to die for Jan. Beautiful pattern, gorgeous colors and as you say, just prefect for a snuggle under. What I remember from quilting was at ever step the project looked a little better, so even tho sewing the blocks together is a little boring, it's exciting to see them all together.
I'm actually not so sure about the garden, although there is one part of my front yard I really like. I had to laugh this weekend. We're standing out in the road admiring our handiwork (and congratulating ourselves on finding a really good landscaper) and i made the comment our front yard looks kind of sophisticated. That's a first! I'll take some photos this weekend. My little perennial garden is kind of odd. I have a feeling I'll be pulling it out next year because they put down a layer of heavy duty black plastic to help keep the weeds down, which of course will also keep the lilies from spreading. We shall see. I've always been a showy annual kind of girl (love pansies) but I need to not spend a King's Ransom every year, so we're trying something new. I'll give you progress reports!
Have a great week!
