WOYWW

Home again, home again, jiggety jig....

After all the partying and general birthday shenanigans, back to the normality of everyday life - well, as normal as you can get in this household.....

I got back from my hols, checked the calendar and realised I'd better get my act together if I'm to present a half-decent craft stall at the NCT fair on the 12th!  So, I've been cutting out like crazy, smoke pouring off my scissors - now all I've got to do is join 'em all together.... :)

There's the makings of another drawstring bag, an apron/tote/doorstop in the doggy fabric, a little baby sunhat at the back and one of the little pillowcase dresses in the strawberry material.  Ready, steady...GO....!!

Here's a closer shot of the strawberry material, some greeny spots and a red dotty material that I couldn't resist in Doughty's Fabric shop in Hereford (a few little scraps of fabric just happened to fall my way and I couldn't just leave them there...at least, that's what I told my OH!!)

While I was trying not to let my lovely OH see what I was buying *grin* he was busy taking some artistic close-ups of the baskets of fat quarters displayed around the shop.

Aren't they fab??  Love the abstract-ness of it all - in fact, I'd just like the whole basket in my house so I could glorify in the colours - think it would make one heck of a jigsaw!!

Just before I go, here are a couple of shots as a reminder of a great week away.  Here's Julia pouring out some sparkly fizz - she didn't spill a drop - what a steady hand that girl's got :D

And this was how we sat for a couple of nights - feet up on the wall, glass of fizz, watching the sunset - it doesn't get much better than that.

Mates together, sitting under the Indian Parasol that the Dunnits gave me - it's so pretty!!

Finally (thank goodness, I hear you cry...!)

D'you remember this from a couple of weeks ago?  Well, it's going to be a giveaway.  If you would like to have a chance of receiving it, please add the phrase '50 - what an old bag!' to the end of your comment.  The winner will be chosen at random by Son No 2!!

Have a great week!!

Loved the shoe shot, and of course all that fabric makes me swoon. Wish I had even a smidge of what you have. Weren't those fat quarters fun to look at? Sorry, can't say 50-what an old bag, because to me you are 50 year old YOUNG bag with a lovely pink parasol.

I must say, the first shot doesn't really do a thing for me (unless that really is smoke I see coming out of the scissors heeheehee) but the other photos. Holy Hec! OH has a great eye, the bubbly pour looks SO inviting and the Indian Parasol is TDF! Great locale, Great fun, great friends and yet 50?- what an old bag.

Love those shots of feet and wine ...I think JD didn't spill a drop 'cos she's practiced in the art lol.
I bet that shop is a wonderland ...I have visited them on line and the material is beautiful....so much choice.
I can remember being 50 ...it was the year I decided to grow old gracefully as I had behaved like a teenager for the previous 20 years ...how stupid was I ...should have waited another 15 years until next year.
50? ...WHAT AN OLD BAG you could be ....but you are definately not. xx

Looks like you had a great time away, and what a beautiful holiday home you booked! Only right that you should buy yourself a little treat for your big day, and I like how hubby kept himself occupied, very enterprising of him! And really, 50?? What an old bag lol!! My sister is 50 in October and my own hubby next February, I'll have to remember that phrase and see how well it goes down, lol!!

right mississ,

that parasol must be aloft at all times, also

only a MAN should open and pour champers - REALLY - Les francais have a Dickie fit that us blighters from blighty take such liberties with tradition,

and its the contents of the bag that I want Not What An Old Bag....

argghhh just had to give agony advice to a twenty year old, so a new ending emerges...

is it better to forgo football for a girlfriend who MIGHT want to go to orange weds later, or just go play football???

In the RAIN

with street riots

FFS

why can't they stay home and cuddle on the sofa in the lounge with mum and dad watching on - like we used to????

once again - what an old bag...

it is a tradition that when 'we' give a purse or a bag it should contain something, I know not where the ritual originates but 'we' were reliably informed that it was terribly bad luck to give a bag/purse as a gift and leave the receptacle empty...often we put a pound coin in a purse and we tend to put a book in a bag - odd isn't it?

now for goodness sake- may I progress unhindered in my desk rounds??? for if i keep replying to my replies I shall be here until next Wednesday...not that that would be a bad thing...

he went to football muttering under his breath ... what an old bag....

What a lot of wonderful fabric you have! You asked me what the name was of a challenge I had on my desk-it's simply a kit our local scrapbook store sells us and we have to do a page using everything! No name.

I love the basket of fat quarters, what a great way to display them all and how nice that your OH took the photos for you.

What super fabrics you have chosen. If I had been in the shop I would definitely
have wanted to buy up both of those baskets of fabrics. They. Look just like tiny rosebuds that have just been picked. Can't wait to see what the door stop made in the doggy fabric turns out like. Hugs Mrs A.#85.

Hi There Jan

I'm actually a week in arrears - as it were - so apologies for not making it sooner!!!

I AM LOVING your bag (I know I'm too late for any kinda draw :O( - but still love it!!!)

Also - I'm also loving your fabric - i don't have that much - given the room I'd be swathed in the stuff as I just love love love fabric and materials of all kinds. Bold patterns are catching my eye at the mo. Even bought a pattern to make some bags myself - but having NEVER tackled such a project - who knows what it will turn out like LOL.

I'd love to come and have a look at all of your fabrics - I even NEED some fat quarters to make other bags out of should I be successful with the one i'm going to be doing (When - who knows) lol...

Right - will be back to read on the current post - probably kill two birds with one stone elsewhere too!!!!

Story of my life lol
