HOW LONG HAS THIS BEEN GOING ON....?

I really did enjoy last week's celebrations, rather different to the normal ATC swap but no less wonderful - I'm glad you enjoyed the video, thanks again to G for helping me with the techy stuff!

How can it be nearly June though? The last time I turned around, it was March - thank goodness for WOYWW because at least I know what one day of the week actually is, lol!!

After all the mask sewing I was in a bit of a lull, unsure of what to do next when Rhys came to my rescue.

His favourite ancient linen shirt had a hole in the front, so a bit of make do and mend came into play. The grey and yellow fabric is the tail end of a duvet cover used for scrubs bags and I kept it to make glasses cases or something, anyway, it was the perfect tone for the mend.

I cut three bits out, bondawebbed them to the shirt and sewed around - you can see they're there but it's quite subtle and Rhys is happy!

I have continued crocheting my Lockdown Blanket and in the lovely but slightly cooler evenings it has been quite nice doing it outside. This was taken at 9pm last night - I so wish we had smello-vision because the scent from my roses was amazing!!

The antics of the birds in the garden has kept us all amused - the sight of baby sparrows in the bird bath is a thing of joy. They discovered a good place to perch whilst waiting for a parent to feed them:
Patience is a virtue eh? Sparrow numbers are diminishing so we're quite happy that there seems to be a growing population around us.

Hope you've had a good week, keep safe and well xxxxx

WOYWW 572 - HAPPY 11TH BLOGGYVERSARY!!

FOR ALL MY FRIENDS......

I didn't have a UFO so I made this instead - make sure you have the volume turned up and click on the photo below.

It's not what you make that's important, it's the crafters you meet along the way.....

I hope it's not too long before we can see each other at the next Crop. Thank you for the friendship and support over the past 11 years and lots of gratitude to Julia for keeping us all on the straight and narrow! Lots of love to all the overseas friends as well, you are very important to me, I just didn't have any pics of you, sorry xx

Huge thanks for my wonderful tech supervisor G, without whom the video wouldn't have happened!!

Enjoy the celebrations today, I'm looking forward to seeing all those Finished Projects, lol!

THANK YOU FOR THE DAYS.....

....and by that, I mean that I do appreciate each and every day even though they are all blurring into one another now. I'm very fortunate to be in the situation I'm in but feel for those who are worrying about jobs, money, children etc. Thank goodness Alan is slowly improving, I know Elizabeth will be happy when he's back home.

The desk is full of mask making stuff - I asked if any of the RNLI gang wanted some and they did. Most of the scrubs bag fabric was donated by them so it's just a little thank you from me.

I still love the duvet cover cut offs, it's done well. The seaside fabric is mine though and makes for a fun mask.

I've had loads of elastic given to me by my SiL Jill and my mate Helen - it's much appreciated and worth more than gold at the moment!

And a friend asked if I could make a headband with buttons on to save her ears when wearing a mask. I printed one out but it was at the wrong scale so I had to do hard sums and work out the ratio in order to upscale it. It seemed to work ok but my brain hurt afterwards, lol!

And I know Shaz is the Queen of And Finally, but this one really made me laugh because I'm sick of seeing lithe beauties show off how flexible they are on FB.

Ain't that the truth!!

Keep well, stay safe and see you for the special Anniversary WOYWW 11 next week. I have no idea what I'm going to share yet.....hopefully inspiration will strike soon.

STUCK IN THE MIDDLE WITH YOU....

My family are very aware of how lucky we are at the moment, it's easy for us to get through lockdown but we are so conscious of others who are struggling - Elizabeth W in particular who has had a very worrying week with Alan being so very ill after she had COVID19. I'm sending her lots of love, hugs and positive thoughts.

I don't know if you read Julia's post on Thursday last week but she was discussing how we should celebrate the 11th Bloggaversary in two weeks' time. Definitely not with our usual PiF ATCs as we don't want to add to the already overstretched Royal Mail but with another idea - check it out and see what you think. I don't know what I'm going to do for it, it's made me ponder......

Anyway, enough blethering, on we go!
I'm in a scrubs bag lull at the moment, waiting to hear from my Ambulance contact if they need more, so decided to have a clear up of UFOs. I've also been waiting for more elastic to arrive (thank you Helen and Jill!!) and then I'll be making more masks to give away to friends.  There was a whole heap of sunglasses cases and mini purses to finish so I now have a nice boxful for when the cafe reopens down the harbour.

Pretty colours that make me happy....

More elastic!! Woohoo!! The fabric top and bottom is from a donated duvet cover which I loved - these were cut from the bits left over from the scrubs bags. I was also given some beautiful old soft white cotton pillowcases which have been used as the lining for masks.

We have been getting out for our one permitted walk a day still - this path is full of woodland flowers and is about 500m from our house! There's a steep dell to our left which used to be full of furnaces and industrial buildings but they were knocked down years ago and wildlife has taken over. It's rather lovely with crab apples, trees of all sorts, lilac and buddleias. I saw cow parsley, bluebells, sweet violets, greater stitchwort, wild garlic, Lords and Ladies to name but a few along the way.

But there's been quite a lot of sitting and enjoying the beautiful weather too:
Taken during a coffee break mid-gardening session a couple of days ago - it was a lovely way to top up the Vitamin D whilst listening to all the insects on the flowers and the buzzards calling overhead. Simple pleasures.

I hope that you are all keeping safe and well and that it stays that way! Have a good week xxxxxxxx
